I've been to 1 or 2 different dog groomers in Long Beach but once I went to Fur Babes, I didn't need to go anywhere else! They always leave my dog, Clementine, clean and well trimmed. They have plenty of options of cleaning, which is great. Note: they do put little bows in her hair, which in my opinion are a little tight. BUT I mostly blame myself when they put bows in her hair because I always forget to tell them not to put them on her! I highly recommend this groomer! read more

Honestly I go to the location in Riverside which I like a lot more .. umm I noticed my dog was a bit jumpy when I was touching her when she returned from the groomer. I really wanted to like this place but when I called to make appointment they accidentally scheduled me to their other location and I ended up having to wait extra 2 hours. Poor little guy was coughing up fur balls multiple times a day. The staff was fantastic and explained my options for Thomas so I could make an informed choice. When dropping him off, it was quick and easy! He was of course nervous but they were great at handling him. When I went to pick him up, they brought him out and he looked great and smelled good too! They take Venmo and Zelle - note there are multiple Venmo accounts with the furbabes name so confirm before you send - this was something I didn't realize but it worked out in the end! I was informed after payment as I was quite literally walking out the door. And the employee said "your dog had too much fur it got stuck in the machine and it slightly cut her" ... I proceed to further inspect... it was BOTH SIDES of her dewclaw that were damn near clipped OFF . So you mean to tell me the groomer didn't care to pay attention to not do it again within the same grooming appointment... and it's a lot more severe than a "slight cut" .. you guys literally almost clipped it COMPLETELY OFF. Didn't inform me asap & proceed to lie & gaslight me into thinking it was my dogs fault .. her fur was not even matted because 1. I take care of it to make sure it's not 2. She would have said that , but no she said she had too much fur (yes they were a bit fluffy which is why I booked them the appointment to get their summer cut) Honestly so so so upset by this. Will not ever recommend. Will not ever go back. If you're going to spend your hard earned money on a groomer please go to someone or someplace else that will actually pay attention to what they're doing. This shows lack of attention to detail. Lack of awareness. Lack of accountability. Lack of professionalism. Cattle dogs are good at 2 things. Running and when they are not running they are shedding. Mine is no exception. Her shedding is never ending. It's no lie that I rarely leave my dog anywhere. Usually I bathe her myself. However she has been digging her nails into my skin lately so I knew she needed an expert. I found Furbabes thru a friend in the car industry. If they can keep a car clean then they can keep a dog clean in my book. Maggie and Brenda were both very friendly and treated Fiona so kindly. I dropped Fiona off in the morning and she was ready about 2 hours later. She was super soft and clean. A lot of her undercoat was removed. Thank goodness because she had a lot. She smelt so good. The cute shop is located in Long Beach on a side street. Parking is limited out in front, however there is parking on the main street. With COVID they check you in at the door. I am very upset that this lady has the nerve to post my husband and I on her social media regarding my dog mookie. This lady shaved my dogs ears without my consent. I clearly told her how I wanted my dog and she has the nerve to tell me "per my personal opinion, I felt that shaving the dog completely was the best decision" regardless if my dog was matted she should've called and informed me or at least tell me that she was going to charge extra and we could've made the decision regarding our dog. Before my dogs appointment she had stated it was $10 for every 15 min to dematte my dog so why did she not call me and tell me that my dogs ears were recommended to get dematted. She went upon her own opinion and decided to do whatever. So yes when we got there we offered to pay half of her service because we were not happy with how she left my dog. She rudely said "well next time I'll call you" I told her there is not going to be a next time and her response was "well".. how unprofessional is this business. We took him to get a haircut because our gender reveal is two days away and she literally messed up our poor baby. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!!!! Took my maltipoo here for almost 2 years. One day I call to make an appointment & they inform me that Maggie would be going on vacation & wouldn't be able to groom him until she returns. I asked if any of the other groomers can do it this time and they said "no your dog is very aggressive & Maggie is the only one willing to do it. I said "aggressive?" Brenda then says yes I know your dog 30 pound shitzu. No my dog is 16 pounds and a maltipoo. I was annoyed she talked so poorly of my dog on the phone with me & not even getting the description correct! She must have been thinking of another dog! I made the appointment & ended the call. After that the conversation did not sit well with me so I send them a DM via Instagram. I got a response starting with "I apologize if you felt" THATS NOT EVEN A REAL APOLOGY! My dog is not aggressive, he doesn't like his feet touched so he is fuzzy when they work around his feet. I would pay extra every time for the cbd stuff & tip generously. Maggie was nice when I'd pick & drop him off. Every experience I had with talking to Brenda on the phone was met with a attitude but it never bothered me bc Maggies attitude made up for it. The few times Brenda did groom my dog she seemed so pissed off & frustrated when I would go & pick him up. I didn't want to continue to deal with her attitude at pick up so I requested for Maggie to do the grooming from then on. Again bc I didn't want to deal with her unnecessary attitude and/or stress out my dog any further by getting groomed by someone with so little patience. I was a loyal customer & constantly would send business their way. So their reply to my IG DM was nothing short of disheartening. So dismissive & I felt like they didn't really attempt to make it right. I meant to update my review sooner but it got lost in the drafts & I just noticed it. Amazing. From the first phone call to picking up my pooch, everything was spot on! I was shocked that they were able to fit me in on the same day I called. The shop is clean and organized and very cute. The staff all were professional and welcoming. This was my first time there and I'm not the best at describing how I want my dog cut, however after a few questions for the staff and them showing me pics, I got my ideas across enough to be wonderfully surprised with how perfect my dog turned out. We had such an warm and friendly experience here!! They were able to fit us in the same day (within an hour even!) for my dog and my sister's dog. We got a basic bath for my sister's little dog (which includes shampoo, nail trim, anal gland expression, and brush out all for $30!!) and a de-shedding treatment + bath for my big dog ($50). It was my 50lb mutt's first time at the groomers EVER and they were so patient with him (keep in mind: he is a rescue with so much lingering anxiety and was definitely the loudest dog there). But these ladies were so professional and incredibly patient and were able to handle my anxious pup AND successfully clip his nails without any hiccups!!! My dog was nicked in nine different areas, and despite a previous apology for a similar incident, this time, the owner showed no remorse or willingness to find a solution. First, she claimed it was a skin condition, then allergies, and finally insisted her clippers couldn't have caused it. My baby dog has a new groomer- Maggie! On the first visit she was able to bring back Delaney's zazz. We lost our groomer at Puppazo, and tried one of the other groomers there, which was a disaster. At Fur Babes it was easy to get an appointment, and the groomer met with me personally to make a list of all the details I wanted in her haircut this time. She did every single thing to a T. The first time I took my cat was 1 yr old, a year ago, I had asked for a flea bath & a de-shred & she came back looking the same for I believe $75???? I found fleas on her the same day. A year later now I decided to give this place another chance. I took my same cat & a 3 month old kitty for AGAIN a flea bath. 3 days later, FLEAS! So here I am, bathing them myself AGAIN. A waste of almost $100. Don't waste your money OR your time. Seems like the only thing they did was put a cute bandana & some perfume on them.
