If I could leave no stars I would, I had tried this place before since It's hard to find a place that grooms cats in Long Beach. The first time I took my cat was 1 yr old, a year ago, I had asked for a flea bath & a de-shred & she came back looking the same for I believe $75???? I found fleas on her the same day. A year later now I decided to give this place another chance. I took my same cat & a 3 month old kitty for AGAIN a flea bath. 3 days later, FLEAS! So here I am, bathing them myself AGAIN. A waste of almost $100. Don't waste your money OR your time. Seems like the only thing they did was put a cute bandana & some perfume on them. I'm annoyed that I put my lil babies through the stress after seeing how the staff even handles/grabs the pets that were there when I picked mine up, respectfully, thanks a lot for a whole lot of nothing! read more

My 2 Fur-babes are clients of Furbabes Spa in Long Beach. Previously both were bathed at home. But seasonal shedding of our Jack Russell terrier (JRT) mix required a professional. I visited several grooming locations. What I found with Furbabe's Spa is a well-ventilated (does not and should not smell) facility with sturdy tables and tubs, as well as pet-friendly products. Also, price points are within average range for services provided. But most importantly is our dogs are not afraid when we arrive and are at ease with the groomers. My pups are bathed well, groomed and smell so fresh! The de-shedding treatment for our JRT mix is excellent and keeps shedding under control. I highly recommend Furbabes Spa for cleanness, and the kind and patient groomers. read more

I recently took my short-haired dog to Fur Babes Spa (Gladys and Anaheim) for a bath, ear cleaning, and nail trimming. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the overall experience and I hate to write a review especially for a business in my neighborhood but I feel like I should tell my story so that other owners do not experience what experienced and not to mention the high vet bills I am currently paying. I dropped off my dog around 2:30pm and I was told to come pick my dog at 4:30pm, but I received a call 1 hour after dropping her off and was surprised that they finished so fast given that they had a full house. When I picked up my dog, she smelled like a wet dog which was concerning because prior to me dropping her off she did not smell like that, her fur was still wet, and none of her nails were properly trimmed. I expressed my concerns to the owner, who attempted to address the issue by trimming the nails in front of me before I paid. However, after telling her that some nails were still longer than others, the owner mentioned that she couldn't trim them further because she was going to hurt my dog. However, when I took my dog to other grooming places, they have able to trim her nails much shorter. To make matters worse, the following day, my dog developed bumps on her back and was diagnosed with a skin infection by our veterinarian. Now I am dealing with high vet bills. I should have been more cautious despite the 4.5 rating of this place. Just entering the facility I got a weird feeling because I noticed bird feces on the lobby floor, and the overall appearance of the place seemed neglected, which should have been a red flag to me. I hope that my experience serves as a cautionary sign for others. I would highly suggest going somewhere else! read more

I've been taking boba here approximately 2/3 times now. I've called and they manage to squeeze Boba jn. It's a spacious grooming place. The girls here are sweet and thorough. I've have no complaints here besides limited parking. But depends on time I guess. But we both enjoy it here. read more

Being curious about a new place to take my dog to get groomed and had a recommendation for Fur Babes Spa. The place has cute decor and a menu of choices for your pet to receive. There are treats, toys and collars for sale. We were happy with the results. Magda took a long time with him but the outcome is worth it. I've been going there for a while now and this last time I'm very disappointed with one of the owners she is the only one I like to have my dog groomed by I believe she used students or some kind of training was going on. My Yorkie came out looking like a chihuahua. When I took her back in to show her she snapped at me which I didn't appreciate that either. Right is right and wrong wrong. Staff is extremely unprofessional, they refuse to listen to customers requests when it comes to specific instructions. They tend to over charge and have a horrible way of communicating when it comes to customer service. I would not recommend this place at all. There are plenty of other professionals in the area. I love this place everyone is so kind and welcoming and I can't come to believe the bad reviews because everyone there is so sweet and professional! I have 2 5lb yorkies and a 17lb corgi mix and they HAVE NEVER gotten the description wrong, so it shows that they care and love my furbabies as well. The place is always clean and nice and I love the little bows and bandanas. There prices are super reasonable compared to other places and they are always honest about their work I know my corgi mix can be a bit aggressive and I don't get offended because I'd rather have them tell me instead of stressing her out so I really appreciate that! I took my dog here because our usual person gets super booked right away, and because of the reviews we thought this would be a good available alternative. Wow was I wrong. I have a senior dog who usually gets groomed perfectly and efficiently even though she can be quite wiggly, and after about 30 minutes at fur babes spa I got a phone call stating that she was "bad" "ungroomable" and that if I wanted her to continue to be there the groomer would have to cancel her other appointments and charge us for entire day of grooming. We picked her up and they continued to tell us how bad she was and that we should take her to a vet to get sedated if we wanted her groomed! Also, she looked insane ( half groomed, tuffs of random hair still attached) and not to mention cut on her chest and freaked out! And yes, we were charged for this. We then took her to our original groomer because luckily he felt badly for us, and she was done within 2 hours. He said that he could tell they tried to rush it because of the cuts and that she is fine if youre slow and gentle with her. Obviously the groomers at fur babe spa were not, which makes me even more irritated. If you have a easy, no personality, no anxieties dog then maybe this place will work for you but I honestly refuse. read more

Maggie is a magician!!!! She took on fearlessly and very professionally to my mom dog Mochi the tiny but mighty terrier mutt, aka Moch the roach, aka brat dog, aka evil Knievel punk butt.. From the start we said we were completely ok with muzzling her, we mostly wanted a simple buzz-cut body and legs, accepting the fact that face may possibly not happen. But she was very patient with her and still did an above and beyond job with her, and some how charmed her way with her, because she was able to get her fro relax and take the muzzle off!!(which was a shocker, because mochi doesn't warm up to new folks right away) I wish we had a before pic to show her full transformation!! Called in to ask if I can drop off my dogs, they charged me for a bath and a de shedding and sanitary cut on my puppy, when I got her the butt wasn't cut... I have never had to explain to someone that a sanitary cut includes the butt... it took almost 3 hours and I went in around 5 and they weren't even close to done. Needed 30 more mins.. but they called me an hour after. I was annoyed because I had things to do. I asked her to do a teddy bear cut on my older dog and to trip slightly her eyebrows , they are gone!!!!! They cut the hairs on her ears that are just part of her. There's no shape to her hair and it looks like they just one blade it. Also, my dog tags are missing! Never going again, only came here because my groomer is down a groomer. Also just a bunch of stuff are just an additional cost, like teeth brushing wtf. Never again, my wife is sooo mad at this place. read more

The only suggestion I recommend is to arrive a little early as parking can be challenging during mid day; however you are allowed to park down the street in the lot in front of laundry mat and nail salon which is relatively close and convenient. read more

This place works wonders! To start off, my Mochi is an 8 month old puppy. She's never had a haircut before, only baths. When I took her to Petsmart, they sent her home because she was anxious and had poo accidents and told me I could not bring Mochi to Petsmart for grooming anymore. Thus, I decided to look on Yelp and I find Fur Babes Spa! Brenda worked with me so gracefully. She understood my situation, my puppy's behavior and had so much patience. She answered all of my questions-- day & night and made me feel comfortable bringing my puppy here. Once my puppy met Brenda for the first time, she was nervous. However, after I left Mochi became comfortable with Brenda. Once I picked Mochi up she looked beautiful and Brenda said Mochi did well! I love this place and it will be my new go to groomers!
