The kittens were always very well taken care of and you could tell that they came from quality foster homes. Very reasonable, adoption fees, spayed, and neutered and current on vaccinations. I've also had the pleasure of fostering kittens with Second Chance. The owner does what she says and supplies you with everything you need to take care of the animals. The commitments are not long and she is able to take the animals back as promised and on time. I recently was in there, and there was a woman trying to adopt a dog. It was obvious the woman did not have a home. The owner was not going to allow the woman to adopt the dog because she did not have a safe place for the dog to live. Although the woman was very upset, the owner was very professional and kind as she explained that she could not in good conscience adopt a pet out that didn't have a safe environment. percent she is concerned about the welfare of the animals. I will always refer people to them whether they're in the market to adopt an animal or if they're interested in fostering or volunteering there it's a great place with low overhead and a lot lot of love.!

The people who run this organization are incredibly charitable and put so much effort into these dogs and cats. I recently visited and they had three dogs available. They were happily running around inside their enclosures outside under the shade of the tree. There were lots of other dog runs/kennels that looks much smaller, but also like they were no longer in use. There were not a lot of animals to choose from-but maybe that's because they all found homes or were in foster homes when we visited. Hopefully that's the case-and they are getting closer to their goal of No More Homeless Pets!

They give you all the info you need for adopting for the first time. All vaccination shots for the pup were administered except for the rabies shot, as that has to be done over 4 months old. She said I'd have to pay $400 to have my pitt picked up and her head cut off to test for rabies. Then officer Martinez took pics down my shirt under the guise of photographing my injuries I'd sent via email. I had to to bring my pit to the shelter, pay $150 so officer Martinez could sexially assault me by taking pics of my chest (I was wearing a sleeveless tank under a jacket) . I had a jacket on but had to remove it to allow unnecessary pics under the ruse of photographing my injuries. When I called ems, they did nothing, didn't dress my wounds. Skip the pet shops and come check out their Tiny Town that is also full with puppies. We recently fostered a dog and the Humae Society was absolutely wonderful to work with. They're also a great organization to volunteer at! If you don't have time to volunteer consistently you can come from time to time to walk dogs or read to the cats.

Even if you are not able to adopt an animal, we recommend that you consider fostering from this shelter. They provide resources for new adoption parents, vaccinations and spaying/neutering services, Senior dog adoption fee only $1 and other are very reasonable, and much more services and resources. They also have a no judgment return policy if an adopted pet isn't the right fit for you (they just want to make sure animals are placed in the right furr ever home). The staff I encountered were professional, but I could tell they genuinely cared about the pets in their charge. The facility is exceptionally maintained, especially for how crowded it is (come adopt and help it be less crowded) I took a look at their website, which shows they take the time to evaluate the personalities of every pet they put up for adoption. I was able to zero in on a couple candidates before showing up. If you're evaluating a pet for adoption I recommend having at least 30 minutes to let your prospective pet calm down in a "get to know you room" before making any final decisions.
