When you sign in, they allow you to go back on your own and take the dog out yourself to walk them or spend time in a room with them. I had never experienced such freedom when going to a shelter to meet a dog. I took the dog I visited with on several walks around the shelter and also spent some time in a room with him. While there, a man whose cat was caught and brought to the shelter was yelling obscenities and threats to the staff. While the staff handled it calmly, there were many of us who witnessed this. They probably need a security officer or something to assist them when people are so intense. I would consider possibly adopting from this shelter in the future.

They are very thorough regarding adopters and also very detailed regarding the rules. You can feel that they want only the best for animals there. Gated areas and grass areas are always monitored so that there is no poo laying around. They've changed their hours recently so it's great for a lot of people who don't have flexible schedules but they want to volunteer or adopt.

We invested in everything she would need--leash, harness, and other supplies--and were genuinely hopeful. Unfortunately, it became clear that she was not the right fit for our home. Some of the training and behavior information we were given did not match our actual experience, which made things challenging. We ultimately made what we felt was the most responsible and compassionate decision for the dog--that she would be happier in a home better suited to her needs. The reason for my one-star review is how we were treated when we returned her. When we arrived, we were asked if we intended to adopt, and when we said no, the reaction from staff was immediate and cold. Before we even had a moment to process, the leash and harness we had purchased were abruptly taken from my hands, and that was the last time we saw the dog. Not only was this handled in an incredibly unprofessional way, but the items we had personally purchased were never returned to us, effectively taking our property without consent. No explanation, no conversation, no acknowledgment--just silence. A survey was handed to us, and we were gestured toward the door. It was an incredibly disheartening and dehumanizing experience during what was already a difficult decision for us. Returning a pet is not easy, and we approached it with care and concern for the animal's well-being. To be treated as if we had done something wrong--and to have our belongings taken in the process--was unacceptable. I strongly encourage anyone considering adoption to think carefully about where they go, as the support and professionalism of the staff can make a huge difference in the process.

I also bring her in to get her nails trimmed every two weeks. They do have small fees plus a clinic visiting fee of $5 which is nothing at all considering the fact there already fairly low. And they mainly continue running this establishment by donations given. So if you come here please donate. Anything helps.

They are responsive to email inquiries within a day or two, and also communicate by text. All dogs are immunized, examined by a vet and provided with any needed medical attention, and have been spayed or neutered. Deb & her husband are very knowledgeable and can even provide training advice as needed. Deb has continued to follow up with me, checking on us to assure a good transition. I highly recommend CGRR without reservation! And, remember that they are a nonprofit organization and appreciate all (tax deductible) donations to support their work. We have had such a great experience with Old Farm pets. We don't board our dogs much but we…read morerecently went on a week vacation and nobody wants to take care of my extra large dogs so they had to get boarded. The staff is super friendly and it is affordable. This is the second vacation weve used Old Farm Pets and they will continue to be our go to for boarding needs.

They do not follow your feeding instructions. They couldn't give me a confident answer if she had eaten or not when I picked her up and they told me she ran out of food which surprised me as I always pack more food than what's needed for the stay. I question if the animals are ignored by staff too, the dogs outside are free roaming and I've never seen a staff member out there. All these issues under "New Management". Avoid this place if you care about your pets.
