He gets SO excited when he realizes he's going to daycare, and seeing how happy he is when he gets there makes us feel so good about leaving him. They also send an end-of-day recap of all the dogs, which is such a fun little update to see what everyone was up to. It's clear that the staff genuinely cares about the dogs and treats them so well. Big mistake. Right after her visit, I discovered she had developed two fungal ringworm spots. In her four years of life, she has NEVER had any skin issues, not once. This was the very first and it came immediately after being groomed here. Ringworm is highly contagious and extremely difficult to treat. Not only has this become stressful and time consuming, but it has impacted her well being and my ability to interact with her normally. I am devastated. For a grooming facility to allow something like this to happen shows a serious lack of sanitation and hygiene protocols. I am disgusted and extremely disappointed. When we picked her up, I gave her water and she immediately started drinking it desperately. She didn't even greet us. She was more focused on drinking water than on seeing us, which says a lot about how thirsty she was. That behavior is not normal for her. Runa is not a dog that pants excessively unless she has been running a lot or is extremely tired. She almost never pants, not even when she's happy. That's why it really stood out to me that in every photo I received during her stay, she was constantly panting. At first glance, the dogs may appear "happy," but in reality they seem thirsty. She was there for only 5 days and still came back thinner and extremely thirsty. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that must have been for her , or how other dogs may be feeling if they are not being given proper access to water. I'm writing this with sadness, but also with the hope that this feedback leads to better care and attention to the well-being of the animals left at this place.
