This review is about the Miami Gardens location (see previous review for Doral location). Different location, same star rating: PERFECTION! I recently moved from Doral to Broward and had been stressing out because I would be losing 2 essentials for me; Doggies Gone Wild and my local Fritanga. DGW-Miami Gardens came to the rescue and alleviated one of those two stresses right up. The other stress remains, but frankly, I was eating too much gallo pinto anyway. SERVICE: I messaged them on Yelp and Marco (owner) responded instantly and was patient with my 1983675 questions. He said the prices were the same, but DGWMG was opened with larger breeds in mind, and to expect the same courteous service - he was 100% right. The front desk staff were charismatic and accommodating. They sent me pictures of my princess throughout her stay. It was clear my girl was not missing me. I can be told that my dog will have fun, blah, blah, blah - I know what my dog looks like when she is having fun. The pictures were the only proof I needed. She was having a blast! Tongue out, happy eyes, body and ears did not show any signs of stress. LOCATION: They are right off of the Palmetto NW 17th Ave exit. The building has its own lot with an easy entrance/exit and plenty of parking. The facilities are squeaky clean. I was not greeted by an overwhelming smell of bleach. The lobby area is wide with enough room for several waiting guests. STAY: Dogs have two large, indoor/outdoor play areas. The outside area is half an acre. The indoor area is large (much larger than Doral's) and is air-conditioned. Dogs spend the day playing around and they are never caged. They are always under the supervision of caretakers. Marco explained that the indoor play area helps keeps the dogs active when temperatures are high outside. As a husky owner, this was a big relief. The dogs have mini rooms. They are open, but each section has a doggie door. You can bring your dog's bed, toys, and anything else that they sleep with (i.e. a chancleta. No? Just me?). PRICES: this the best part. I have done the legwork; these are competitive prices. $48/night, which includes food (Science Diet) if you cannot bring your own. There is an additional $5 inspection fee to ensure the dog is in good condition and without flees/ticks. Again, as a Husky owner, I appreciate the attention to detail to ensure I am not bringing back unwanted guests to my home. If the stay is longer than 3 days, there will be a mandatory bath fee, which is separate from the nightly rate (mine was $40). This is for the basic bath, which includes teeth brushing, nail trimming, anal glands, and ear cleaning. Your dog will be glistening when you pick it up. I am so glad I found my local pet boarding place without having to succumb to the outrageousness of similar businesses nearby, with inconsiderate pricing and unrealistic "1st-time guest" requirements. DGWMG treated my princess like a dog of their own. The attention to detail is immaculate, service is friendly, staff is efficient, my dog came back tired and happy, and I did not have to break the bank. read more

I took my dog to this place about 3 months ago and they a deshedding service to my dog and we were super impressed. I made an appointment last week and it didn't seem like they did the deshedding at all so we called and they said bring her back so we did and then when we went there they made us wait for 45 minutes and never confirmed if the redo service was complimentary or not so we left and no call or anything. I guess they don't want our business anymore. read more

I just moved here from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and my dog is a well known favorite at the Ruff House Stay and Play doggy daycare there. On Monday June 28, 2021 I picked my Bella up from doggies gone wild-Miami to her nail ripped off and a "I'm sorry we cleaned it up..just keep an eye on it, and next time maybe trim her nails". As a responsible dog owner I immediately took her to an after hours pet clinic where they said her nails didn't need to be clipped and had to sedate her to remove the nail and stop the bleeding. My dog had never had a reason to go to an emergency and is the sweetest dog. The next day I received a call asking how she's doing and I said I had to take her to the vet and $400 dollars later she seems ok for now. Then I asked her what happened and she said an employee was wearing ripped jeans and Bella's foot got caught and they aren't even allowed to wear ripped jeans. She then said she will let her manager know about the vet bill. That was Tuesday and I haven't heard from them yet. I DID NOT EVEN GET REFUNDED FOR THE DAYCARE I PAID FOR THAT DAY!! When I go out of town and leave Teddy at Doggies Gone Wild I have tremendous peace of mind. I've been doing this for six years, since he was a little puppy, and he loves it there. I actually drive 35 minutes each way to take him there. There are many other boarding/doggy day care places much closer to where I live but none of them have the heart, love for the dogs, environment and fabulous staff like DGW. If you love your pet DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE, they don't take care. In fact, they mistreat the poor dogs they get feed with contaminated food they get abused constantly. Their Grooming services sucks. I took my dog and he got burned with the clipper, scratch on the belly, and also nip on the ear. This is really unacceptable. The owner of this business he believe that he knows everything about dog training and that's completely FALSE. The only thing that he cares is about money and over populating dogs. Their staff completely sucks. Finding a spot for a day off for new doggy parents is a must. We have successfully brought our pup here at least ten times. They do offer a free day trial after submitting appropriate paperwork and an appointment for a tour is given by appointment only. You should have current basic vaccinations and I would suggest having the kennel cough vaccine also though it's not required. Bring your pups snacks and any in between meal and off you go. The drop off process is seamless and our dog could care less what we do when he's here playing. You can ask to get pictures throughout the day and staff are pretty consistent about it but you do have to ask. The only thing I'd suggest is a live feed in the play area so you could watch play times to check in. No complaints, staff tell you what happened through the day and are keen observers to anything happening with your pet. They told us our boy was itching an ear and when he had a rash (which we knew about). I'd highly suggest this place for a break for doggy parents and an exhausted pup at the end of the day. I had an awful experience boarding my dog Teddy at the Miami Gardens location recently. I would personally recommend avoiding this business altogether, but here are a few highlights from my own experience: 1) I made it very clear that this was my first time boarding my anxious dog, and I was told that she would be in good hands. Based on other reviews, I had expected to receive some updates throughout her stay, but not only did I not hear from anyone until 2 hours before I picked her up on her last day, but I also had a hard time reaching anyone throughout her visit (I texted multiple times, and only heard back from someone once I left a voicemail). 2) I left anti-anxiety medication (Trazodone) with the receptionist, and let her know that 1 pill should be given each night around 1 hour before bedtime. I only boarded Teddy for 2 nights, but I left 3 pills to be safe. When I picked Teddy up, I noticed that all 3 pills were missing. I was eventually told that only 2 pills were administered, but this made me nervous either way. 3) After I picked Teddy up, I noticed a ton of scabbing all over her coat. I immediately scheduled a vet appointment, called Doggies Gone Wild, and sent over a few pictures so they could let me know where the scabbing came from (i.e. was there a fight? did she seem irritated at all? did something go wrong during the grooming appointment I was told was mandatory for a 2-night stay)? I was told that someone would contact me ASAP, but no one did. I had to call back 2 days later (at the vet) and even now no one is able to explain the scabbing/bleeding. My vet bill and treatment plan came out to over $500, and I have to return for a follow up in 2 weeks. The vet seems to think that this either happened because the groomer didn't properly dry Teddy (she was very damp when I picked her up, but I ignored this at the time because she smelled nice), or there might be an unknown contagious skin infection going around. Her back is COVERED in these scabs, but she is a Husky/GSD mix, so it's hard to tell. I'm being told I may have to shave her entire back if the scabbing doesn't improve with meds :/ 4) No one stays to watch the dogs overnight, which I'm realizing now is an issue for me (but may not be for other people). **AS OF 2/22: There has been no mention of rectifying these issues and/or refunding any of my stay. read more

Ive left my dog here twice for day care. The first time she apologized for not sending photos as they were very busy so I understood and figured it was not a usual circumstance but the second time I left him I received no photos also. Without photos theres no way for me to have an ease of mind when leaving him and being that taking photos takes seconds, I can't help but feel doubt in if my dog was truly taken care of if they were truly so busy they could not do that. I still gave three stars due to staff being pleasant and not having to wait long when I pick Luke up as well as the extended hours you have to drop off/pick up in comparison to other pet boarding facilities. I am so happy DGW opened another location in Miami Gardens. I have been taking my Savanah to the 1st location for a few years now but this is more convenient for me. Savanah always has such fun and today was no exception. She gets to play with other dogs (supervised) all day and then gets a royal (bath & grooming) treatment before I pick her up. The staff at DGW is friendly and so wonderful. They sent me pictures of her playing and having fun and she always comes home so happy and tuckered out from her day of play. The staff is also great about following any directions. My dog is a Frenchie so I have often have had to leave them with special food or allergy shampoo for her and they never bat an eye. read more

I've been taking my almost 2 years old Boston Terrier to this location for over a year now and I can safely say I've never had any issues with DGW Miami Gardens. My puppy runs in there so excited each and every time which is always a great sign that he enjoys being there. He's spent up to a week there and I always feel safe and have peace of mind knowing my pup will return to me safe and sound while also enjoying play time with his doggy friends. I also love that at DGW my doggy isn't locked up all day like at many other lodging places, rather he spends all day playing with his friends (inside in the AC and outside in the sun) and running about. Don't bring you're dog here, horrible customer service! I took my puppy to groom here and they cut my puppy's ear because said that "it happens" with dematting, leaving a hematoma, then still charged me extra for it. They then put iodine all over her ear/fur in the area and left it yellow. Her ear is red to the point I'm worried about infection. When I let them know about my concerns, they said they couldn't assist because the manager wasn't there. Who doesn't have a manager on duty at all times? Had to pay the ENTIRE overcharged fee when I wasn't happy with the service and they hurt my dog. I had to call the manager myself and she refused to accommodate as well after wanting proof, saying she wasn't responsible when she technically was. I'm literally the nicest person ever, but when things are fair! Anyone would be mad if their puppy is cut due to lack of carefulness. They don't care about their customers they just care about business. This is the first time I write a bad review about a place on yelp, but I'm so disappointed, that I had to. I never thought I would leave my baby girl Georgia at anyone's house or nonetheless a doggy day care! Georgia had just turned 4 months two weeks ago, all shots up to date, so I was looking for a groomer for her 1st bath. I came across DGW and saw amazing reviews that I thought I give them a try for grooming. At first, I was a bit hesitant when it came to the day care since Georgia never had any interaction with any dog before. However, I felt like she deserved to go make some friends and have some fun. Mind you, Georgia is an English Bulldog, you would think she's shy, nervous, and just lazy, but not Georgia, she's a handful. Georgia is very energetic and hyper, practically at all times of the day. I figured let's give the day care a try maybe she will come home pooped out. The young lady with the pink hair at the front desk was the sweetest as ever! Georgia immediately jumped on her ready to play. As stated before I never thought I would leave Georgia at day care, it was the hardest thing to let her go. Little did I know Georgia wouldn't miss me and would make tons of friends! Thanks to DGW, I received pictures on how her day went, this is where DGW won me over, definitely a plus. When I got to DGW to pick Georgia up and she saw me she ran to me with her eyes glowing with happiness and tiresome at the same time. She smelled amazing after getting her first bath! Georgia could hardly ever sit still in the car, when I tell you Georgia barely moved, she was definitely pooped out. When I got home I gave her some treats and she went straight to sleep!! I called around 12 and was greeted by a super friendly guy ( forgot his name ) he was extremely helpful and told me I could bring in my dog same day. DO NOT HAVE YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE!!!!! I brought my 4 year old dog here to be groomed. He has never had an issue with previous grooming, but I needed a new groomer as we just moved to Florida. When I picked my dog up I could instantly see there was a problem. Our dog could not open his eye. The groomer had said she got "soap" in his eye and put Visine in. we found out this is very dangerous for pets and should never be done according to our vet. Being concerned, I brought him to the vet where he told us our dog had a very bad burn on his eye. After a week of medication and pain I am glad to say he's ok now. Also, the grooming was not only horrible, and uneven but he went there with a pink belly and now has marks all over his belly that have not gone away. I have never written a review but I wanted to warn anyone thinking of going here to beware!!!!! Not only was our dog mistreated but was irresponsibly given drops that could have made the situation worse. DON'T RISK YOUR PETS WELLBEING WITH AMATEURS. read more
