A historic golf course dating back to 1927. It is also the lowest golf course in the world at 213 feet below sea level. It is a tree line course with trees about 100 years old as well. We played this month, February and the Bermuda grass is dormant so the greens were not playable and the fairways were not lush. I'm sure if you play in September or October the course would be gorgeous. Don't play in the summer because it can get dangerously hot. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the gorgeous weather of 72 degrees and the gorgeous scenery. Service was excellent. If you live in Vegas they honored the Clark County resident rate. If you do play bring plenty of water and your own snacks. They do not have cart service and the restaurant next to the pro shop does not open till 10:00am. They do have water coolers at some of the holes. It was 2 hour drive from Las Vegas so we made it a day trip. If you're looking to cross off one for the bucket list, this is one to play. read more

Lush grass everywhere in sight, trees are all heathy with beautiful blooming flowers, water is clear with birds and fish. Beautiful. Just pure beautiful. The view is to Die For and out of every single golf course I've been to this is the best. Definitely put this on your bucket list!! read more

Hubby's bucket list was Death Valley National Park. As the park is only two hours north of Las Vegas we made a point to come. In researching the park I discovered there's a golf course. Great. We were in Vegas for a golf getaway so this was an extension for us. Knowing Death Valley is like a furnace I booked us a foursome for 7:30am. I made tee time on the phone as I had a couple of questions. Tee time can be made online too. We made over to the pro shop at 7:10am. Still closed. The pro shop guy was bringing the carts out. He then comes over and opens. The first tee time was 7:15am. Single guy. We're out next. Any tips? He says the course plays short. We tee off. Enjoying ourselves. Temperature very comfortable. Maybe mid 70's. We get over to hole 10. Hey, there are golfers on 10. We count them. There's 6 players. Not 4 or 5, but 6!!! Naturally I call the pro shop. I get cut off a couple of times. Third time is a charm. Matt picks up. I explained we're now at hole 11. And there's a huge group of slow players on the fairway. He knew right away who they were. He comes out. Speaks to them. Comes over to us and says they're allowing us to play through. What about the the twosome behind us? Later back at our cottage we see the twosome in the parking lot. We talked about the slow seniors. They said Matt kiddingly said don't kill the two off to the side. They were impressed that we were quick. I know we're all on vacation but common sense and golf etiquette should always apply. We would have waited forever at each hole. As it was we finished in 3 1/2 hours. It's an easy course. Claim to fame - 214 feet below sea level. The lowest golf course on earth. Green fees $78.50. The only discount is for military. The course was full of players. A great way to enjoy Death Valley. We spotted a coyote on hole 9. read more

Play 9 holes below sea level before a full day of sightseeing and hiking ~ yep I'm IN!! We made sure to grab our morning tee time prior to leaving for our Death Valley getaway. We knew only 9-holes as we had a full day planned for Furnace Creek with temperatures at 85 and winds at 15 to 25 Furnace Creek Golf Course is located in Death Valley at the Oasis boasting 214 feet below Sea Level as the World's Lowest Elevation 18-hole par 70 course it was a MUST do while we were there. The course has stellar views with beautiful palm & tamarisk trees framing the fairways with overall conditions comparable to our local municipal course at home ~ but those views!! Restaurant currently closed due to climate of 2020/early Spring 2021, hopefully that will change as time progresses. Staff was helpful on phone and in pro shop, remember to take ALOT of H20 and something to eat with you. read more

The golf course is great! I was kinda of skeptical reading some of the on how I would play. Ball flew amazing idk what a bunch of people were saying about the ball not going as far as normal. Greens were aerated but still nice! Firm and fast! If you ever get the chance to play here definitely worth it. read more

Billed as the lowest golf course in the world (it probably is), Furnace Creek offers a golfing experience unlike any other. Which is not entirely a good thing, mind you. This is not an elite resort course by any means. More like a nice muni. - Greens were in fairly good condition and rolled true. They aren't all that contoured so your green reading skills won't be terribly challenged. - Fairways are not as good. Lots of dead spots, ground under repair, that sort of thing. - Hazards are about what you'd expect except there's a lot of waste area, which you might also expect given the locale. - Course layout is disappointing - somewhat repetitive, boring. The yardages are ridiculous too. Playing the white tees, I expect to be able to reach all the par threes from the tee and all the par fours with a wedge on my third shot. Not so here. The 14th, for example, is called 'a beast of a par three'. 188 yards from the white tees (and even 180 from the gold). That's ridiculous. A couple of par fours, I hit reasonable tee and second shots only to find myself faced with a long shot into the green. They need to rethink their tee placements. - I saw zero evidence of a marshall or any other course monitor while playing. Didn't need one though. Pace of play was good. - Carts are fine. Functional, no frills. No towels or tees provided. - Price is high but this is Death Valley. Everything is expensive. - The 'clubhouse' is fine - you'll be able to buy some over-priced golf paraphernalia. - They have a 19th hole but in these days of COVID, it's limited. Overall, it's A-OK. I do wish they'd cut back on the greenery and water. It's out of place in Death Valley. While this isn't a grassy course by any means, they could loose some of the water hazards and still have a good golf course. Given the horrors the Oasis folks have created with the rest of the place recently (made it into an awful Palm Springs like setting), I don't expect much. read more

We stay at the Furnace Creek Ranch every year. This year we decided to try our hand at the golf course. There were no times for Friday or Saturday so we went out on Thursday. The employees in the pro shop were friendly enough. We were given a cart number and a have a good time. We started golfing. At hole #5 the cart broke down. We had to sit there and wait for a different cart. Upon arrival of the new cart, there was no apology, no incentive, nothing. We got into the cart and finished our round. There was one set of ports-potties around hole 16 or so. Ladies need to bring toilet paper and use the bushes. There are a bunch of interesting trees surrounding the course. The view in the distance from any angle is stunning. Coyotes roam the course freely but they weren't a nuisance. All in all it was a pretty unremarkable course. read more

My husband, the golfer, was surprised by how green the 'greens' were for being in a place where they get only about 2 inches of rain a year. Some of the 'Tee's' were a bit confusing to find but he liked them all. He even managed to tee off on the wrong one at one point. I heard 'My brother would love this course' no less than five times. There are water and sand hazards along with plentiful wildlife to keep you company. They advertise that you might see a coyote or two on the course. We did see several and had to chase one off the hill somewhere around the 13th hole. I was surprised how we drove the cart up and it just laid there enjoying the sunny spot on the grass. We also saw a bunny munching on the 'tender greens'. We actually had to shoo it away. During the normal season there is a grill that you can drive the cart through for burgers and refreshment. Although it was closed when we went. I think they shut it down as summer approaches. I'm not sure how many customers they get when it is 115 in the shade. There is a vending machine around the 10th(?) hole with sodas and water along with a call box so you can order from the grill. We were surprised to learn they use the water from the pool. So the pool is filled from the spring (Texas?) and cycled out to the golf course. The Tamarisk trees provide great shelter at the lowest, and possibly hottest, golf course in the world.Jerry gives five stars and seriously is ready to go back! Maybe when it is cooler and we can grab a burger from the comfort of our cart. I'd suggest a 6:00AM Tee Time to avoid the heat. read more

The best golf course for miles. The staff is helpful and courteous. You can pull your golf cart up to the snack back and get a burger and a drink, and you will need something to drink. The golf course is in good condition for the location. A little pricey at $60 without a cart, but still an enjoyable course for the price. read more

As most golfers know, at high elevations, your golf balls carry longer. But of course, when I'm at high elevations, I tend to believe my drives are long because I'm hitting the ball well :) So, I decided to take a visit to Death Valley as an opportunity to play at the *lowest* elevation golf course in America to see whether the opposite would be true. I will save the result for the end of the review :) The thing that struck me most about the course was how desolate it felt. I played alone and was the only one on the course. Twice, I saw coyotes(?) - and they were not shy. They'd run within probably 20 feet of me and just stare at me. If I had not been on a cart, I probably would have quit the round right then! Considering the course is in the middle of Death Valley, it is surprisingly well-maintained. The greens and fairways aren't luxurious, but were, for the most part, green and not too dry. The layout was relatively interesting. Flat with a few water hazards and some trees. The course was short, and I assume that's a nod to the elevation. So...did I notice the elevation in my ball flight? Yes! The ball would start out normally...but suddenly, mid-flight, it would seem to hit a wall, and just drop. Once it landed, there was hardly any roll. So, I consider my visit to the Death Valley Golf Course a scientific success! But, I will still attribute any exceptional drives at high elevation to my amazing golf swing instead of the elevation bump :) read more

We were visiting Death Valley for the weekend and wanted to play golf. so made a tee time at Furnace Creek. It definitely isn't fancy, but we had so much fun! The course is very organized, so it is clear where the next tee is after you sink your putt. The course is flat and wide open. with lovely views. The only thing that gave me pause is the greens are artificial turf. I have never seen that before, but it is very dry in Death Valley, so maybe that helps them maintain the greens. I didn't really mind because putting on artificial turf is actually easier than regular grass! We read that the course is a wildlife refuge, but we literally didn't see any creatures of any kind who weren't holding a nine iron, lol. Highly recommend this course for a fun outing if you are in the area! read more

My grand dad was an advisor on this little course in the Furnace Creek Valley. Fun little course... needs a little loving touch here and there but go give it a swing if you get a chance behind the Visitors Center. read more

The views of the mountain ranges are beautiful. Tougher course than it looks. Staff really nice! 19th hole kind of pricey. $5 for a coors light and $8 for a hotdog.(bun fell apart). Will come again. read more

This course is nothing fancy, however, given the fact that the name of town is "death valley" the couse is quite well managed. with long history and lowest elevation on earth golf course, we enjoyed warm weather in windy and rainy weather elsewhere. fairway has some blemishes and butting green were little hairy and bumpy, but other than that fair conditioned course in desert. restaurant needs little update but warm firepit and cart drive through is one of kind, not to mention awesome burger-the best. read more

The golf course was in good condition but the two employees in the clubhouse need to be placed in positions where they do not deal with the public. They were extremely rude. We were willing to play in 105 degree weather and had to put up with insults and impatience. We wanted to play the next day but decided the rude treatment was not worth it.
