TJ from the sales group at Plover store was extremely helpful in getting me a new dryer and set up delivery quickly. We had to work with Universal Hime Protection to get my credit from my protection plan and somehow that didn't come over or no one could find the information. TJ contacted Universal and got the info he needed and scheduled our delivery in only a few days. Thankyou TJ Schwebach! Now on the other side of the business, other than sales, it is extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone in the office or service department, phones are never answered and leaving a voicemail is useless, they do not return calls. They have a text option as well which can take up to a day to get a response if any. I'm trying to be understanding due to Covid but it is not acceptable in my opinion. We saw there Big 4th of July mattress sale on tv and thought we'd check it out. When we first enter the store we were greeted by a sales person and told him we were just looking. What we didn't expect was for him to stalk us like prey around the store. We prefer to look around and if we see something we are interested in, then seek out a salesperson. However at this location, that was not the case. I simply wanted my wife to check out the mattresses "blindly", unaware of the price and to let her discover which mattress was the most comfortable for her. My lovely bride is often too frugal and will let price decide in order to save a few dollars, instead of what is the most comfortable. Unfortunately the salesman thwarted my efforts by constantly offering up too much unsolicited information. We came to the store wanting to buy and he literally talked himself out of a sale. I then drove us down to Wisconsin Rapids and to Tammie's Furniture and Mattress Gallery. My lovely bride was allowed to try out almost every mattress on display. It was only after finding one that was the most comfortable for her was price discussed. It turned out to be a Stearns and Foster Pillow Top, the same brand that Furniture and Appliance Mart had on sale. We purchased the mattress from Tammie and the following day returned to Furniture and ApplianceMart to purchase their Queen Mattress cover/protector as it appears to be a well made product. Shari was the Room Consultant that sold us the mattress protector and was very helpful and patient when we asked questions about the product. She had a totally different demeanor from the salesperson we worked with the previous day. After experiencing problems with my sofa and loveseat, the staff on the phone said it was supposed to be like that and I could not use the manufacturer's warranty. So I lived with it for over a year and I hated it so much. Every day was so annoying trying to sit down as the cushions kept coming right out. I called again and asked about the extended warranty I paid extra money for. Now they say that it is a manufacturer's defect and I can't use the extended warranty. The salesperson on the phone literally told me "that's what you get for buying the cheapest one". Horrible service. You will be better spending your money elsewhere. read more

I placed an order for a refrigerator thru a salesmen; all went well until I had to call them back thru a central calling system. If you press #2 you get a recorder message saying that they are on the phone and will call back. I called 3 times and no call back. Then when it was time for them to deliver it was a no show. We bought our washer and dryer with warranties there. Washer broke and 75 days later it was fixed. Dryer broke. 80 days later, still no dryer. Wrote a letter to Mr Fonti who sent it to their VP of Customer Satisfaction who called to say we would eventually get a new dryer. No apologies. No acknowledgment of the letter. I asked if she wanted to further discuss my concerns. She said, Well if you want. Obviously they have no interest in Customer Satisfaction. TJ from the sales department has been extremely helpful. Sadly the customer service department has not been. We were sold (by no fault of TJ) a broken washer. On first use our laundry room was flooded. Finally got ahold of customer support and they say it'll be 3 weeks until someone can come out and that's AFTER they argued charging us the $125 house call. We called TJ and he had a service guy out within 48 hours. They come out and say the pump is cracked in half!!! We were sold a broken washer! You would think customer service would be in contact immediately trying to correct the mistake... WRONG! They refused to return phone calls, finally after 5 days of trying they say they can't come back out for ANOTHER 2 weeks to replace the broken part!!! Not replace a machine, not compensate us for our time and loss of finances running to laundry mats. We call to express our displeasure and they say well it's getting fixed right?!?!?! Excuse me?!?! They say the only thing they can do is give us a $50 gift certificate but wouldn't offer it at first because they say most people don't want to hear it. Very displeased with the customer service! We bought a "top of the line" and very expensive made-to-order leather reclining couch and chair. Very beautiful- HOWEVER, 6 month after receiving it the motor went to hell and needed to be replaced. It was replaced for free- thank heaven- but now of course we are holding our breath for it to happen on the couch or even the recliner again. I did not get the extended warranty because for an additional 4 years of warranty it would have been $600. -pretty pricey and of course I checked and it is too late to get it now. Bought furniture. Waited a month to receive it. The day comes (you receive an email) and no one arrived by noon or 5pm. They even give you a tracker. I called, both times, worst customer service ever. First person said furniture is in route. Yeah, I know due to the tracker system. I just want to know when I have to be home. Around 5. And you need to be home or it will be rescheduled for next month. Really?! 5pm comes along, no delivery. Now it's 7pm. Are you kidding me? Can I talk to a manager? They are on another call. I do not normally leave negative reviews, but I cannot overlook the horrendous experience I have had with this company. I have spent over $10,000 at Furniture & ApplianceMart over the last several years, so this is not the review of a cranky Karen who stepped into the store intent on complaining from the start. I have had positive experiences in the past, but recently their customer care by has become so terrible I will never again do business with this company. They do not stand by their word, treat customers as second-class citizens, and effectively refuse to honor their own warranties. Do not do business with them unless you enjoy being lied to and jerked around by incompetent employees and callous management. --- My refrigerator stopped cooling over two weeks ago. It is still under the extended warranty purchased through the store, and I have been in contact with customer service seven times regarding servicing. I am still no closer to having an ETA on when they will be able to schedule the repair or when I can expect to have a working refrigerator again. Each time I have called I have waited 30-45 minutes on hold due to "high call volume" regardless of the time of day. I have been given the following excuses for why they cannot schedule the repair: "We need to check our service schedule and get back to you." "We are waiting on parts" - I was given this excuse three times before anyone even came out to inspect my refrigerator and diagnose the problem. "There was a clerical error." "We had to open a new service ticket so there was a delay." "We ordered the wrong parts and are waiting for different ones." - This excise was given after the finally came out to inspect the refrigerator 12 days after I first called customer service. Five different times they have stated they would get back to me with more information, but only once did they follow through and call back. Four times I have requested to speak to a manager, which they refused. Once I was able to convince them to forward me to the "Appliance Coordinator", Megan, who was extremely rude and uncaring. She refused or was unable to provide any additional information such as a tracking number for the "parts" they are supposedly waiting on, an expected delivery date for those parts, or the normal wait time for a warrantied refrigerator repair. She also explicitly refused an exchange for a comparable model or a prorated discount on a replacement - both things that I was previously told were options if they could not repair the refrigerator in a timely manner. I'm not sure what reality these people live in but waiting over two weeks for a refrigerator repair is anything but timely in my opinion. This has easily cost me over $1,000 in spoiled food, increased take out meal prices and time following up with customer service, not to mention the inconvenience and frustration. So I ask you, what good is a warranty if I could have just purchased a new fridge for the same overall expense and not gone through the inconvenience of weeks without a refrigerator? We are going out to look for a replacement tonight and we will not be shopping at Furniture & ApplianceMart. I would honestly leave a 0-star review if I could. read more

It is not a surprise to me that there are 24 negative reviews. I have purchased quite a few things from F&A over 30 years. Recently I purchased a microwave and washer and dryer from their warehouse sale for my new home. The microwave did not turn on when I plugged it in. When I called the service department I was told that I needed to have it serviced! Right out of the box? I decided I did not want to mess around with a broken appliance and was told I would have to pay them $45 to restock the item. Next the washer and dryer. The dryer never worked properly, didn't dry the clothes, and kept coming up with a DR code. Because appliances are in short supply, I decided to have it serviced. The DR code is a drain issue, sounds pretty easy to fix? The service technician came out yesterday for the 3rd time! Each time I wait a week for a service appointment. My husband was here this time and he was told I would have to replace a part if this didn't solve the problem. This is how the Furniture and ApplianceMart treats customers. They have lost my respect and my business. The way they treat customers is ridiculous! A customer should not have to pay to have a brand new right out of the box appliance serviced, nor should they have to pay to have a faulty appliance "restocked". Did they sell it to someone else? I have purchased a considerable amount of furniture and appliances from them. Recently, we came in to purchase a microwave and ended up with a refrigerator to match. Monte was great at the time. 10 months later, our refrigerator quit. My husband called once to the store, I called twice with no return calls. No appliance manager contact. Finally,o The repair person came out and explained he had to order 6 parts, including the compressor and it would take 7-10 days to get them, IF they were not back ordered. So the fact we didn't buy the EXTENDED warranty our food in the freezer was not covered. I went to the store and talked to the supposed store manager (Denise). I was told the only time they replace the appliance is IF they have to come back 3 times for the same issue. Ok, so what happens if we lose more food?..I was very calm and pleasant so she put me on the phone with customer assistance. I spoke with Cody, and explained the fact I could understand if it was a single part they were replacing, but, 6 parts??? Basic the guts of the $3000 appliance? I have been in customer service my whole life and have NEVER had a more horrible experience in my life. I even contacted the Fonti's with no response. With all this being said, the whole "guts being replaced" words from the repairman, our warranty is not extended.....Not a new warranty!!! I will never darken their doorstep ever again and I plan to let EVERYONE I know not to buy from them, as their customer service sucks! They love to sell but do not stand behind their products! This is an update to the lovely review I left about the Furniture & Appliancemart of Plover, the very expensive recliner I bought and the customer service. I sure wish I had taken other reviews seriously or had read the BBB's reviews. I would never have wasted my money at that store. I had my electric recliner for less than a month when part of the frame just snapped for no apparent reason. I was sitting quietly in the chair. The footrest wasn't even up, but after the frame broke the footrest sagged to the left and so did the seat of the chair. Long story short: I have been ghosted, given the run-around, told that even though their salespeople never told me it was an "as is" sale, and I never signed anything to that effect, it's too bad, so sad. They have over $1500 of mine and I have nothing. Add to that, I NEED a recliner for serious health issues, which I made sure to tell everyone I talked to at the store before I even bought the chair, and everyone I talked to after. I feel disrespected, cheated and robbed. They say they will replace the mechanism if I pay $135, but I don't trust the quality of that thing and also, it's not just the mechanism, but the frame. And if I have to wait weeks or months for them to do it (it's already been 3 weeks of run-around), I won't do it. I refuse to let them put my health at risk for a few dollars. I would be happy for a store credit of what I paid for the chair plus tax, and I would put it toward a better chair at their store--a totally reasonable and fair solution-- but they refuse. She helped us find a price on a set that wasn't marked, let us look around at our own pace, and didn't try to get us over to something more expensive when we had made our decision. Absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service from the service department. They came and looked at our washer and dryer after having us pre-pay for the service call, they provided us with a quote which we sent to our home warranty company. 4 months later I call to pre-pay for parts and labor to have washer and dryer repaired. 30 minutes after paying a large sum they messaged me saying that I still owed $42 from the service call 4 months ago. 4 months with no bill, no phone call, no mention of the money owed during numerous phone calls and in-person visits. I am sorry, but it is their mistake and they need to eat that cost. Now they refuse to provide the service until I pay and they refuse to refund my money! Ordered a bed Dec 26th, 2018. Have been given several new pick-up dates. We've had to call each time to see where the bed is...why we haven't heard from them. Called just now, 1/31/19. "Customer service" agent said now won't be in until mid-February. No apologizes. No concern. Didn't offer any type of compensation. We cancelled the order and are waiting on refund. Dealing with furniture and appliance mart has been the WORST experience. I ordered a sectional in the fall and when it came in, it was the wrong couch. I had to wait another 6-8 weeks for the right one to ship in. When it came, there was a sticker placed onto the suede cushion of the couch. When the sticker came off, the sticker had ruined the fabric and I couldn't get the mark out. When I called furniture and appliance mart they weren't helpful at all. They said a technician can only come out to my apartment the one day a week I can't be at home for them. They gave me no other options and left me to figure it out for myself. Super disappointed and would highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

Bought a refrigerator and stove there, excellent sales person, had delivered great -guy, Broke 6 days after delivery on Thanksgiving day-bad. came next day to check OK back on track? didn't get fixed after 3 weeks called we should be able to get you a loaner till you get it in a couple of days. will wait a couple of days no problem 4 weeks late.....I called them at end of conversation let know they WILL give new stove, AND got bill for stove and refrigerator would not get new stove for 2-3 more weeks. tell them to credit and rebill so don't have billing problem. I was impressed by the selection and quality of the furniture, but the customer service was some of the WORST I have ever experienced. My items were delayed by several months and I was not communicated this by anyone. They also told me my dining table and chairs were a "protoype" and was not available yet and this was the cause of the delay, yet one chair was delivered. So, obviously, this was a lie. They also did not communicate exactly what I would receive. I assumed I would get what was on the floor, but when I called them after my furniture was delivered, they said that the price tag on the furniture said that item was clearly marked as an accessory. I was never told this and never got a sincere apology. Because of this terrible customer service and the way I felt from them treating me, I will never use or recommend Furniture and Appliance Mart in Stevens Point to anyone.
