I love this store. I spend most of my time at the Hanover location, but I do find myself roaming down to Plymouth every so often, just to browse! Inventory is online, so it's super easy to buy. Prices drop on a schedule but don't wait too long because things sell! Delivery isn't included in the purchase price so you are paying for that but if you don't have someone to muscle furniture into a truck and home for you, it's well worth it. I've even shopped online without even driving to Natick to examine a chair because I just knew it was the perfect chair to zuzsh up my gray living room! Last week I moved furniture around in my home, re-purposing some pieces, donating some pieces to Salvation Army Thrift Store (also a great place to shop!) all to change up the look in my decor and scale down the size. Finding one display cabinet and a gorgeous French bistro'ish table later I was happy. Of course, waking up at 3am and realizing my Ethan Allen chairs were NOT going to come close to coordinating with the perfect table, meant one more trip for the chairs the store had coordinated in a display with the table! Delivery of the table and display cabinet was within a week, I took the chairs in my car, and done! There's everything here. Furniture, lamps, wall decor, area rugs. All styles, all prices, all ready to go. Compelled to rewrite this review today. Suffice to say I used to really like this small chain. Their furniture was great and I always found treasures while supporting small businesses. But in the last couple years, everything's gone downhill. The furniture isn't just "gently used" anymore - it's flat-out DIRTY! I could even deal with that if they'd lower prices, but the staff's attitude is the real problem. Service quality varies between stores, but Hanover (my old favorite) has gotten terrible. I do NOT recommend shopping here. I'll sum it up by saying some of the staff are a little too outspoken and mean-spirited in front of customers. The last time, ever, I shopped at FCG was very uncomfortable. This store's management needs to remember that customers have ears. read more

Do not trust this consignment shop! You give them a nice piece of furniture to consign. They charge over $100 dollars to pick it up. If they price it at $800 it is 50/50 for 60 days eve if they overprice the item . Then it is 70/30 after that. If they then sell it your share is $240 less the $100 pick up fee your net $140. Now they never let you know it was sold. You call and they will tell you the pay the following month on the 20th. If you don't go and pick up check you will never see the money. They hold the check for 30 days and that is it, you lose the money. If you question it , they say read the contract, two pages of micro print. all and all if you sold on your own thru craiglist, you could sell for 1/2 and do better. Or donate free pickup GW and better write off. Shady business. read more

There are several locations, and I have to say the two I've shopped are great! Within 5 minutes (at the Plymouth location) I found EXACTLY the dining chairs I was looking for!!! AND at a super price! THEN, for the first time, I decided to become a consignor, and drop off the chairs I was replacing! I have seen some really beautiful things in this store. High end. The only downside is I think the store is overpriced.

These are the greatest people. As an Interior Designer I use them often. When my clients are upgrading I am always happy to recommend them to consign their old things. When working on projects with a tight budget this is where I go to fill in. Recently,I was asked to stage a project for a developer that typically does not stage,with the weird times he felt it would give his property the added push it might need.I was able to add many high end Baker pieces to the staging to give it a true luxury look. This place is a fantastic way to find beautiful, gently used furniture for less than retail. When my spouse and I moved to the area from California, we brought essentially nothing with us! We had a decent amount of money saved to set up housekeeping in Massachusetts, but we're frugal types who don't like to pay full price if it can be avoided. This motivation drove us over to Hanover to check out the Furniture Consignment Gallery. What we found there was a little surprising! First, the staff was really, really nice. They're friendly, warm and helpful. Next, the options on sale at the time of our visit were waaaaaaay nicer than I had expected. Just as an example, I knew we'd need a sofa, and I expected to be able to find something there under about a thousand dollars. They had some really amazing large sectionals and designer couches that were around or over that mark, and just a few under the mark. Realistically, these items were well-priced, considering that they're really high quality, again, barely or gently used, and made by top manufacturers. In short, this isn't disposable Ikea furniture. This is decorate-your-dream-home furniture! To be honest, we didn't buy anything! We're not there yet. But that's OK, because at some point, I'll be able to pay $1500 for an amazing rustic farmhouse table with matching chairs, or $1200 for a beautiful antique vanity. This store has beautiful things but prices are WAY too high for consignment. The prices are comparable to a traditional furniture store. A few years ago you would be able to find some good deals, but not anymore. Prices are outrageous! Too bad, I frequent all three locations often hoping pricing will be more aggressive, but just not happening. Also, they are also overly picky about what they will consign. Too bad. Well, it's lovely to walk around this store, but not sure if this is a consignment store - 90% of the stuff looks like its from a model home, not somebody's treasures that they have parted with. And it's not that the furniture is "good condition" -- it's all new stuff. This is really more like a furniture store for discontinued merchandise from model homes. It all looks "dated" vs. vintage or gently used & loved. The prices are CRAZY for the stuff they have. Even the brand name stuff you would be able to find on sale at the same prices. The sales manager on the floor was dusting and cleaning and was very pleasant. I was, however, disappointed with this shop. read more

I really like this store and have bought a few pieces from them. I am looking on their web page tonight to see if they have anything new and see they have a framed photograph of a beach in Ma. Asking price $199. Come on people, I bought this same framed photograph, new from a store in Martha's Vineyard and paid less than less than $50 for it. This is the kind of consignment store you dream about. This is all beautiful high end furniture. Name brands that might have been out of reach are now affordable. You can buy real furniture, that lasts for years and that you can pass down. It's not a store full of junk or other people's old smelly furniture. The staff was extremely helpful and patient. This store changed hands about 5 years ago. The new owners really know how to run a great business. Love them! read more

Way over priced! Case in point - they have a rope mirror on the third floor priced $229 - i purchased the same mirror online for $84. Even Pottery Barn has a similar mirror except larger priced for less than FCG. Most items appear to be new rather than consignment pieces. Agree with previous post, need to know your prices! read more
