My wife and I decided that we would buy a new sofa this year. I am very tall and heavier, she is average height. We had some specific ideas on desired seat height, seat depth, foam firmness, and build quality. We live in Redding, so we started our shopping in Redding. We had some good experiences in Redding and some bad. We drove down to Red Bluff and visited The Furniture Depot. We met David and a few members of the team. They patiently helped us find the right sofa design, seat foam density, and fabric choice for our sofa. We got fabric samples and took them home. They answered all of our questions with a smile. We ordered a Stanton Model 605 sofa with our choice of fabric and seat cushion foam. The couch arrived within the earlier part of the time frame they quoted. They gave us a specific time frame for the delivery date. The delivery guys called us first, arrived within that time slot, and did a great job delivering the couch and hauling the old one away. We have had the couch for a week now. We absolutely love it. It is exactly what we wanted. We will purchase from them again and refer our friends to them. We saved money over buying the sofa from the Redding dealer, even figuring our two trips to Red Bluff and the delivery charge. The service we received was top notch. Tip: If you are taller and heavier than average and want a quality sofa that will last....Look at the Stanton 605 with the High Density seat Cushion. I would actually give this store a negative rating, but it wasn't offered. We purchased two bed sets from this store, and in less that two weeks, started having issues with bites and crawlers on us at night while we were sleeping. It ended up being an infestation of bedbugs. We were told it was our fault, and we caused their beds to get infested. Fact is, their "professional trained" employees took our old beds out, and commented on how beautiful they were. They never noted a single casing, odor, bug or damage to our old sets, so you must ask, "If we caused the infestation, why didn't they note we had them? Today, $1,349.00 worth of "new beds" are in my driveway wrapped in containment bags, while my house is being ripped apart. The amount of eggs and thousands of adults clearly indicate that this infestation had started long before I received the beds. They can live up to 18 months dormant. Unfortunately, we live in a city that doesn't have much in the line of quality furniture, so we though "what could happen to a bed, its new" Fact is, no one is safe from these type of problems. In most every case, it is NOT your fault. Investigations show that when a bed is sold even in a store that advertises "new", you may be getting a rebuilt or returned unit that is infected. And even though it is said to be "Factory sealed" that only means wrapped. Only a vacuum sealed unit is truly sealed. So unless you have better than $5,000.00 to throw away, be sure to inspect every inch of any product purchased so you wont get the same cold "sorry you got problems" as we did. And remember, no matter what you are told by any retailer or their "exterminator", cross contamination can happen if your product is stored, shipped or delivered with or near infested product. So, keep in mind, the "new" furniture you may be buying, has been in their storeroom and delivery truck, with old bed sets and only god know what. And if they don't know where they came from, can you afford to take the chance? read more

Just a follow up on Customer Service! One of the recliners we purchased did not have the arm covers. Imaging surprise when a couple weeks later the delivery shows up at house with the covers. They could have been mailed, but the personal touch of personal delivery was well received read more

We've purchased multiple types of furniture here. In a town this size, it's very rare to find such a variety of quality, name brand furniture. We've never had an issue with anything purchased and delivery was fast and free I like the laid back sales approach. I want to look and see what's available not be followed by someone making chit chat and trying to keep you in the store. When you have a question, someone is always right there to answer it. I don't want to be pressured from a copycat used car salesman. You won't find that here! I've paid cash for everything we have purchased except one item years ago that was financed. I remember the financing being very easy to fill out and having 12 months to pay. This was 6 or 7 years ago so this may have changed. During my most recent visit, 2 people were going through financing and it seemed very easy for them. All in all, I can't see how you can be disappointed in this huge, well stocked store. My search for a lift chair for my husband for his post surgical hernia recovery led me to Furniture Depot due to their great variety of chairs from which to choose!! My husband got to try out 5 or 6 to find out which one was the very best fit and comfort for him! So very important!! We ended up getting one that was delivered the day after surgery was scheduled, and the other was ordered to be delivered later. We continued shopping and ended up with a reclining couch, three barstools, and 2 bedside tables, too! All for great prices! We were looking at coat trees/hat racks, and they threw in one for free! The delivery guys were great, moving in everything they delivered, as well as additional furniture! Thank you all!! We'll be back!! read more

We needed to furnish a whole house, as we are new to Red Bluff, and we wanted to keep our business local. I wanted to actually experience the store before I wrote a review; today is my third bad experience w furniture depot. I guess I'll be spending more money at Evans in Redding! I just walked out after spending about 30min in the store. 1) their selection is extremely small, for calling themselves a depot- they had 3 ottomans, which is what I came for. If you want dated couches, this is your spot, but if you actually care what your home looks like and don't want to overpay, run!! 2) very rude salesman-I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't see me initially, but I couldn't believe what happened when I walked by! He acknowledged the 2nd person in the store, who happened to walk in less than 2 min after me, immediately. He then continues to ignore me for about 25 more minutes after he converses for a bit w the other lady about the weather. I stop IN FRONT OF HIM several mins later, and he says something about the weather again TO THE OTHER LADY ACROSS THE FLOOR! I stood there and stared at him for, I'm not exaggerating, 15 seconds for him to finally ask, can I help you w something? Some may call it a non-pushy approach to furniture sales- I call it rude. 3) he didn't know the answers to any of my questions! I referenced 1 of the 3 ottomans, and he said, "you're gonna have to show me what you're talking about"... you just told me you have 1 ottoman on that side of the store- what else could I be talking about?! Overall, the people here are rude, have zero sense of customer service or furniture selling, and they have no selection unless you want an ugly couch. No wonder there are 3 cars in your parking lot- one being mine as I write this review, and one prob being the employee! I came yesterday about 6 minutes before they closed and the doors were locked, the "open" sign turned off, and lights off. Bye, furniture depot, I'm done after 3 bad experiences! read more

We are very impressed by the service we received at Furniture Depot. We live 45 minutes away from the store in Red Bluff but it proved to be the best for our purchase of new couch and loveseat. After we made our selection, we changed our mind to get two recliners and a couch instead. One phone call and one week later and they delivered our new furniture and credit our account for the difference. We were also impressed by the delivery and set up team. Super job! read more

Finally called me today regarding a Best brand recliner where the mechanism would not operate. Would not extend, like it was bound up. Talked to Best directly and told me that they would have the folks from The Furniture Depot call me regarding this situation on top of the already bad taste in my mouth (below comments) about the same chairs. Well the call went like this-----he would be glad to come over in about three days. The mechanism would be no charge (being it was in warranty) but the shipping would be $50. Holy crap ! Why do i have to pay this when its their fault, not mine. He went on to tell me that i should have contacted them first and not the mfg. I told him i send him two emails and a Yelp review. Apparently they never got any of them. Told him not to bother coming out that i would take it out back and dump gas on it and light it on fire. I will do this. I did go to Laz Z Boy in Redding and purchase a new recliner. One that will last and is lifetime warranteed and the people are great. Also went to Sears and bought a $3500 mattress set. These people lost all of my business. Steer clear of shabby furniture these people sell and the poor attitude they have. I dont know where these 5 star reviews come from but they must be relatives or caught them on a rare day. My opiinion Matters. read more
