He saw me before I saw him, and he shouted out my name because of his surprise at seeing me. Turns out, he was okay. He just was not in the habit of interacting with lawyers; even his own. Experience had not been a kind teacher. He was so excited that he shook my hand at least four times to thank me for caring enough to come looking for him. He looked well. Clear eyes. Strong speech. Firm grip. He said he would be more responsible and responsive from now on. Glad of that. I was impressed with the way Salvation Army had righted his ship. He was working in the store and on the donations truck to pay for his room and board. The men around him seemed respectful and conscientious. They offered to help me contact him whenever I called in the future. They all appeared to work well together. Most importantly, there was a feeling of deep caring and love among them.
