Back in DeKalb after a few years, came here again. Tried the tofu hibachi this time. I have nothing to complain about. The tofu was characteristically crispy with the right ratios of tofu to veggies to rice, and the two dipping sauces were delicious. Great value. I also tried one of the green tea daifuku (they call them "mochi cakes") out of the fridge - these are prepackaged but still pretty good, same quality as the ones I get on the west coast. Still a very casual and relaxed atmosphere. They now have a robot that brings your dishes to your table which is kind of cute.

Excellent sushi. Very quick service with a great vegetarian roll menu! The spicy vegetable roll was so good I could have eaten 20. You get your food delivered via robot which I thought was a funny/cool touch. Would definitely stop here again!

I've been a long time customer. And HOLY COW couldn't be more dissapointed this time. Normally everyone is polite when u order but not this girl! She like scoffed at me when I had to pull up a text message with an order. Just being over all mean demeanor. And hey maybe she was having a bad day but doesn't give excuse to be mean. At the end when I was walking away she told her coworker. "Yea I asked him 2 times" she asked me 2 times in which if the order was right or wrong. It was wrong by the way. If I come back and the customer service is up a notch I will be taking this up to 4 stars. Not what this place deserves. Great food!

I won't be back here. We gave it a chance. But it's not a good experience in any respect. You know how sometimes you have gone into an unassuming little dive that looked like it threatened to give you botulism but it was one of the best meals you ever had? This is not that place. Crowded, garish, and slightly grimy. Random assortment of tables and incomprehensible room divider. The cashier knew nothing, or next to nothing, about the menu. Food took forever to come. It was not fun waiting in line to order (why is there no table service?), or waiting for the sushi to come. I mean, come on, it's raw after all! Why does it take a half hour to come? Even on a busy Friday night. The udon noodle soup was strangely ink colored. The individual rolls-- some with tempura, some with eel, some with guacamole (yes, guacamole, not just avocado, which is plenty strange)--were okay, but nothing tasted uber fresh. It looked good, though. The hibachi fried rice was pedestrian and a little greasy. The beef (eaten by my companion) was nothing to write home about. And then afterwards you feel you want to steady your feet, and maybe be near a receptacle. Thankfully, we made it home, but I was anxious about taking off my hoodie to use as a barf bag, just in case. That was not the worst part of the experience. The worst part of the experience was the clientele. Disgustingly loud and inconsiderate, attention-seeking troglodytes. I felt like we were in the 9th circle of hell where Fran Drescher and Kristen Schaal are having a conversation over a wind tunnel. What the hell are they doing ordering sushi? Since when do those who do not know how to use an "inside" voice decide to pay for expensive, raw fish for a meal? Maybe because it's a college town or more people have more disposable income than economists are giving them credit for. Either way, it was a bust. The workers/owners were really nice (though they don't know how to run a restaurant), but they couldn't save this.

I love stopping by Fushi Yami whenever I'm in the area. It's a quick service sushi bar that offers a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, nigiri and more! The prices are super affordable for sushi and their combination plates offer a variety of sushi rolls for a great price!

I've always wanted to try this place but then Covid happened and I never made the trip. Finally tried it and loved it. We ordered the steak habachi which was delicious. I will def order it again! We also got sushi- California and tuna rolls. They were okay. We also got bubble teas to take home with us, however the wait was very long and not much places to wait after ordering unless we were dining in. Also, when we got home- I opened the bag to see ginger and sauces spilled inside of the bag. Either they didn't carefully put everything in with the lids closed or something. (That is reasoning why not a 5 star). Otherwise I would try again.

I didn't follow the menu suggestions of other Yelpers and maybe that was the issue with my lunch. I ordered an asparagus roll and steak fried rice off the very large menu. Both items came out quickly--almost together. The tiny asparagus roll was okay--a thin piece of vegetable wrapped in bland rice and nori. The pickled ginger condiment was dry from obviously sitting out. As stated, the fried rice seemed to come out too quickly. I suspect it was already prepared and just reheated. The beef was overcooked (chewy, lacking juiciness), the rice had bites that were crunchy. Nicely decorated, this restaurant is essentially a fast food spot. Though food is delivered to your table there's no follow-up to see if you're satisfied. You serve your own drinks.

I didn't get the chance to have a dine in experience, but based upon their to go order the food was good. They give plenty for what you pay for. You can taste the flavors from the rice, veggies, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I will give them more than likely a five once I'm able to dine in and get the full experience I'm more than guaranteed that will get the best rating from me. They also had a great Sushi menu and a very nice environment for dining.

When I search for food I mainly lood for price, amount of food and flavor of course. Best cheap hibachi, I got at least 2-3 pounds of food for around $13. No soy sauce needed on the rice, maybe a little bit for the chicken cuz it can get dry. They probably use breast. They cooked my steak perfectly, literally the first place to cook my steak right and I've been to top dollar hibachi places. This lil hole in the wall place slaps, and the inside looks raw as hell too

Egg rolls. Wish they were bigger.

Time for an updated review, as I've since started eating meat again!…read more My sister and I popped into Pho 95 to satiate a pho craving on a crisp mid-December day, and it did not disappoint! There was just one waitstaff member that was taking care of all the folks that were dining (there were about 6-7 parties, including us) so it took a few minutes to put our order in, since he was busy taking other orders and bring out entrees to other diners. With that being said, if you're looking for a "supremely quick service" kind of spot, this might not be your go-to. After those few minutes had past, we'd put in our order for the crispy egg rolls, spring rolls, the grilled pork banh mi, and two orders of pho: the Pho 95 Special for me and the Steak & Fatty Brisket pho for my sister. We waited a handful of minutes for our apps and our pho (this was quick!) then we got to digging in. The egg rolls had a perfect CRISP exterior and a flavorful interior. The spring rolls were delightful and fresh (however, I prefer them without the thin sheets of pork), and our pho - after dressing it up with the accoutrements) was hot and delicious! Honestly, the Pho 95 Special wasn't for me, as I realized that I'm not attuned to or prefer the tendon or tripe. The rest of the meats were delicious though and I'll definitely order the Steak & Fatty Brisket Pho - since my sister loved it! I also didn't favor the pork banh mi. I just couldn't get behind the smokey flavor and didn't enjoy the seasoning. Perhaps pork just isn't my kind of protein. I will add, my sister did enjoy the banh mi, so it's certainly subjective! I'd be curious to try their other banh mi's in the future. Overall, Pho 95 was a great spot to visit and I recommend it to all locals in the area looking to satisfy their pho cravings!

This one's building looks like a beautiful lodge. While there is an online Yelp waitlist (that goes up to 6 people), we had a party of 8 so I called the restaurant and they were happy to put my name down for a reservation. We came to celebrate my dad's birthday. We brought a cake to share, and when we arrived, our server was gracious enough to store it in the fridge until we were ready. We had 6 adults and 2 kids. Kids under a certain height (I forget the details exactly) are free. So we didn't have to pay for the little ones, and not like toddlers appreciate hot pot anyway. It was more, "how do we make sure they don't touch the pot?!" which went totally fine. It's to position the high chairs the furthest away from the knobs/hot surfaces. On our end of the table, we got the half-half broth of classic marrow and the gold cabbage marrow. The golden marrow was SO GOOD. I would get this again and again, because it's hot/sour; the flavor of pickled cabbage and the spice of Szechuan peppercorns. Our server said the spice builds over time, and it did. It was so flavorful that I barely used my dipping sauce. If you like hot/spicy and sour, choose this broth, it is DELICIOUS. The sauce station and the prepared food buffet was located in the middle-back of the dining area. It's a little packed and cozy in there, especially during the dinner rush, you may need to wait a little longer or keep an eye on the area to determine when to get out of your seat. This same area has self-service personal ice cream cups, soda, additional toppings/veggies/proteins, buffet (fried rice, fried chicken, egg rolls, fried buns) AND the sauce station. What I did love is there was a gentleman who was making balloon animals/hats/characters for sale near the front of the restaurant. He says he does this occasionally when he doesn't have other gigs like parties or weddings, etc, so my kiddo and my niece each got a cat and a bunny, respectively. This made their day! And it was nice for them not to be strapped into a high chair the whole time, and have something to entertain them. Overall, 4 shining stars! It would have been great if they had private and semi-private rooms like the Bridgeport location, but I think this wasn't possible due to their building. It looked like they took over a from a Mangia Bubala Roadhouse (Italian and Jewish fare) which took over from a Connie's Pizza. This place has gone through some changes, but it looks like Happy Lamb will be there for the long-run.

My plum sake reserved was 30.0 for a small bottle. (Whoops). But it was Valentine's Day so honestly it wasn't a biggie. Onto the food. For starters we got the spring rolls and soup dumplings. The spring rolls were made fresh and very good. Only thing that would have been nice is if they were wrapped with the ends closed up as when you tried to dip them in the delicious sauce that came with the insides fell out a bit. They had a good mix of lettuce, noodles, shrimp and a little shredded crab I believe. (It was dark in there so was hard to tell). The soup dumplings were to die for !! Nothing more to say but small bites of heaven. And they didn't come out so hot that you popped on into your mouth and were hit with boiling insides. Will definitely go back for these again. Now to the meh ones. The crab Rangoon needed more filling and more crab. Kinda bland. And the jalapeño stuffed wontons also needed more peppers and bacon. Just not a ton of flavor other than fried. We did not have room for any of the rolls but they looked interesting. Not a lot of "raw" ones so if that's your think your choices are limited. It's a cute little space the staff was super nice and it was a last minute dinner reservation so that was a plus. They were really hopping to bring out all the food stuffs and we left with the intention of coming back on a less busy day to try more items.
