We went during their lunch special hours. We chose items from their pre-fixed menu. The only complaint we had was we couldn't mix a hot appetizer choice with a cold entree choice (sushi). Delicious and fresh sushi! We ordered the Kani and seaweed salad and rock shrimp to start. The kani salad is not your typical kani salad! It almost resembled a cold slaw but better. Seaweed salad was the typical salad- it was great. The rock shrimp was a bit salty but nonetheless delicious. For the main entree, we had the toro toro, American dream, salmon roll, spicy salmon, and eel avocado. The American dream was my personally favorite! We also ordered the chicken yaki udon for the table- amazing! We sat outside so the set up was super cute. They converted their parking lot into outside seating, decorated with Japanese umbrellas and lanterns. Will be returning! read more

Been here a few times and finally decided to review. Stopped by with my sister today for some lunch. Our overall thoughts are as follows.... Ambiance: 9/10 very nice vibe seated really well and it was early so we could actually hear each other talk unlike every other time lol. Food: 8.5/10 SOOO GOOD! Had the seafood bisque soup , cucumber salad and our sushi rolls and did not disappoint. Our courses were served so on point as well. Service: Server was type rude the one who took our order brought out drinks and everything... I was getting annoyed by her tone and attitude...compared to other tables. I come here at least once a month and every time I have dined here the food is SPECTACULAR! I have not once had a bad experience. I have sat for a party, in the front, the back...every area is great. If you are on a date you literally can sit anywhere and have the BEST service and experience. The decorations all over the restaurant is amazing. Had Fushimi back when to go cocktails became a thing during covid and I must say it was tooooo die for !! For a Brooklyn sushi spot it's great, a little on the pricey side but totally worth it. The drinks are heavy handed but soooo good I highly recommend. Vegetable fried rice was amazing I had it for 2 days straight LOL. Cucumber and Chicken rolls were super basic but very fresh so that was a great experience. I personally don't do raw fish but my friend got the raw end of it all and said it was very good so if you are a raw fish kind of person totally go for it read more

I absolutely love fushimi. Their food and service is outstanding. Some of my favorite menu items include the rock shrimp tempura, lobster sushi roll, Spring rolls, and mango cheesecake dessert. My family raves about the steak they serve so for anyone that is a meat eater it is very good as well. They have gone above and beyond with their outdoor dining setup during these times and I have had a great experience dining out there. They have created an ambiance that is so pleasant with plants and a nicely put together deck that you feel like you are away from the city all while being in their parking lot still. They have also gone above and beyond to make sure tables are spaced appropriately so everyone feels comfortable while they are there. Fushimi is Such a nice romantic dinner spot. We have been to the Williamsburg one and this is our first time at the bay ridge one. And we were of course impressed with all of the decorations and service that they provide here. All the servers were extremely kind and very accommodating. We originally requested for a booth seat with our reservations. But we weren't provided with that but our host was very kind to switch tables when we asked. The food was amazing as usual. We highly recommend their calamari and the beef negiyaki (I think) and their sushi is fresh and very unique. Of course the Williamsburg had more gorgeous decorations. But the atmosphere at the bay ridge location was much more welcoming and servers were more attentive. read more

Alex was so helpful with setting everything up and they let me call ahead for my courses to make vegetarian substitutions. We had 10 people and they put us in a semi private room. We did the $60 menu and $14 drink option and it ended up being $84 each with gratuity included which was well worth it for the portion sizes. Came here for Friday night date night. Love the ambience, and the energy as well as the decoration in this place. We had reservations around 8:30 and were seated promptly, however it didn't seem reservations were necessary. It was by no means empty however! We started with a few appetizers which were delicious! My date had a mango sangria which was excellent, light, refreshing, and a good amount of alcohol and fruits. For main course my date had the fire and ice roll which was a great texture and taste! I had a spider roll, as well as an eel avocado roll. The spider roll was a little bitter tasting to me, would not get it again. The eel avocado was nothing special, and Definitely not worth $7. We had salmon sushi which was heavenly, a little expensive, but very much so worth it. The service was fantastic here! We skipped dessert as we were full and nothing called our name. Definitely a good date night or just a place to come for drinks with buds. I'd skip the regular rolls however, go for the special rolls or their signature dishes. Ive been a regular at this establishment for a few years. Meals are usually on point, everything is usually fresh and delicious. Never any complaints. I ordered delivery recently (with my normal order) and 2 of the rolls that came were inedible. We called to let manager know and he was rude and short. Didn't apologize, didn't offer to replace it or reimburse us. He carried on about how the 2 rolls we ordered are "our most popular rolls" and then proceeded to ask me what I wanted. LMAO. Honestly, I would have returned to the restaurant even after having the bad food experience bc they are usually SO GOOD. But after being spoken to like that I will never return. I called seamless and they reimbursed me for the 2 rolls with no issue. Hopefully they find better management, bc how he acted was uncalled for. & on top of that, me and my friend were sick the next day. Very disappointing :( read more

Fushimi pulls out all of the stops in terms of ambiance and decor, but I find that the quality of the food doesn't seem to match up. We walked in at around 8:30pm on a friday without reservations. It was certainly packed but we were seated in under 20 minutes. I've been here a bunch of times in the past (circa 2011) but never actually sat in the back room to the left until this visit. It was definitely a cool space. We started with edamame and few basic rolls, and moved on to the Mummy Roll - shrimp tempura & cucumber w. lobster salad, seared pepper tuna & avocado - and some turf to balance out all the surf. For the 'turf' portion, we split the filet mignon w. a side of mashed potato & vegetable in tobanyaki. The Mummy Roll was okay, but nothing to write home about which was disappointing considering the hefty price tag. The filet mignon was really over-cooked (we ordered it medium rare, but it came out well-done in most parts). The weird part is it actually tasted more like a pot roast than anything, so I wonder if they precook their meat in the oven in advance and just throw it on the grill when ordered. Considering how pricey the menu items are and the quality of the stuff being served here, I'd skip this place for an actual meal. The quality isn't what it used to be. Maybe stop in for a drink at the bar if you want to visit. read more

Placed our order and waited about 40 minutes before with got our food. Our frustration of waiting did not compensate with the service as provided by a waiter who has such a dry personality. We ordered their rolls were very tasty. Their Sashimi were just ok as I might have expected more. Portions were small. Overall, medirco food and below average service. The place is cute, nothing that will blow my mind. They check your temperature and ask you to fill in the COVID questioner. As a party of 6, we have been seated in a secluded area, which was nice, but the picturesque wall of sumo athletes was kinda off. It is very unappetizing to look at the fat butts while you were eating. The service is super slow, so if you are going to order, try to do it all together; otherwise, it will be waiting 30-35 min for drinks and then another hour for food, not to mention the waiter. The food was good, though, but only one thing that stood out for me. We ordered appetizers for the table: crispy rice balls - lovely, light, good flavors. The goat cheese spread was delicious. Their dumplings are also decent. For the main course, I want to mention Toro ( fatty tuna ), I called it wagyu of the sea, was delightful for the 30$ for three pieces of sashimi. This is a fusion with asian, and idk what the other half is. Its very confusing because i had peas, a single ping pong ball of a potato, white rice and a super fatty steak. My wife had a salmon, mashed potatoes, mysterious gravy, brussel sprouts, wontons, its like she picked this up off a buffet. The fusion is confusing.
