    Light Roast Espresso Martini

Bar Chuzo is doing something really special with Latin cuisine and this meal was proof of that. Creative, bold and intentional, every dish delivered! The Tuna Aguachile was a standout! The sushi grade tuna and avocado layered together in a bright, herbaceous broth that had just the right amount of heat and freshness. The Scallop Crudo was equally impressive, silky smooth scallops with a citrusy, slightly sweet backdrop that let the quality of the fish shine. The Crab Cake was well seasoned and had this beautiful depth of flavor from the Ecuadorian manglar crab, not your average crab cake at all. And the Chicken Chuzo Platter genuinely surprised me. I normally avoid skewer style meats because they tend to come out dry but this chicken was incredibly moist, tender and packed with flavor from the brasa marinade. Served alongside yuca croquettes and Andean corn, it was a full, satisfying plate. On the drinks side the Light Roast Espresso Martini was smooth, perfectly foamy and had this lovely depth without being overly sweet. And the Ruby Rose Cooler? As a pink grapefruit lover, this one was made for me. Bright, refreshing and dangerously easy to sip.

Rarely do I give 5 star revisit this place deserves it. Nestled on a quiet corner in Bay ridge, this place gives of family favorite neighborhood vibes. We sat outdoors on the side of the bar at a cool table underneath and umbrella. It's just what I needed on a cool summer day. Everything we ordered was really great, the steak and potatoes were cooked to perfection, the salad was dress well and I don't even care for an arugula salad but guess what I like it only there. Everything was just great!!! The wings were so good I didn't even notice there was a sauce to go with it. It was devoured! My ceviche was really fresh and the plaintain chips it came with were the best compliment for it. Now our waiter was amazing, attentive was an understatement. If I saw someone's food at another table and asked what it was he was able to identify it. He made our lemonade iced tea to perfection. He was even moved to an inside table and was moved from servicing us and he still constantly came back to check on us. The experience with him made me solidified I want to come back.

Came here on a Saturday and made a reservation. We got seated in the back of the restaurant where the music was loud. So be prepared if you are looking for a place to chit chat. Overall we ordered the chorizo and that was outstanding in flavor. Seafood Paella: A massive standout loaded with jumbo shrimp, clams, and steamed mussels. The rice absorbs a rich, deeply flavored broth carries a hint of smoky paprika aiol.

Bar Chuzo has a lot going for it. The oysters were fresh and well-presented -- a great way to kick things off. The seafood paella was packed with flavour and generously loaded, but missing the socarrat. The pork and steak skewers were both tasty, nicely charred with good seasoning, though the steak skewer edged it for me. A few minor rough edges keep it from five stars, but overall a very enjoyable.

This unassuming family owned restaurant in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn serves some of the best Latin seafood dishes in the city with Ecuadorian influences. The place is small with crowded tables but the service is great and the food comes out fast. The scallop crudo is a fresh and clean bite with melt in your mouth sashimi grade scallop tossed in sweet guanabana, apple, and honey roasted cucumbers. The tuna aguachile is plated beautifully with a stack of avocado, tuna, and cucumbers that goes perfectly with the house made corn chips. The crab cake is filling and flavorful on a base of creamy pepper sauce. The chicken chuzo is grilled perfectly and drizzled in a delicious salsa verde. The drinks were decent with a standout being the Bay Ridge Baby with raspberry jam, lemon, and blanco tequila.

I tried several things at this resturant, I liked the shrimp ceviche, The other shrimp fish with he red sauce we didn't enjoy. The oysters were seasoned well but not grilled enough. The fish didn't have enough flavor and I love branzino. The wings were ok nothing to write home about, and lastly the steak tasted unseasoned, it was cooked at the perfect temperature but feel flat on flavor. But if this was just a review on service I would give them 5 stars. The waiter was amazing, so nice and funny, he made me a special drink that as sssooo good. The vibe is nice and lots of seating options. We say outside under the umbrella and still enjoyed an imitate experience

Absolutely 5 stars without hesitation ! I fell in love with this place the first time we visited with my mom while she was in town last year. The atmosphere is amazing -- such an amazing vibe, welcoming, and filled with positive energy. The staff is super friendly, professional, and always makes you feel at home. Everything is incredibly delicious, fresh, and clean. My personal favorites are the obvious winners: chicken wings, paella, ceviche, guacamole, tuna aguachile, chicken chuzo, and so much more... My son asks to go there at least once a week just for his favorite chicken chuzo with French fries! It's also super kid-friendly, which makes the experience even better. If you still haven't tried this place, you're seriously missing out

Great tasting salad, fried to crisp calamari and crab cacke makes great appetizers.

Great come back to out favorite spot, delicious and fresh food, great drinks and superb service makes this place that you would love to come back again and again. Even though we visited Bar Chuzo on Father's Day because was early afternoon, we've got the best of everything. Not too loud so you can have comfortable conversations without yelling to each other, this is amazingly well run place by great group of young people. I highly recommend Bar Chuzo to others, everyone and everything deserves ten plus more stars and yes definitely we are coming back. Thank you Bar Chuzo team

It is time for an Ecuadorian lesson.. shall we? Let's break it down: Definition: "Chuzo is a brochette or skewer of marinated, grilled meat with bold seasonings, classic sides, and the unmistakable flavor of Colombian street food." "Bar" well we all know what that means, "vamos, vamos, vamos!" Since my first visit last year, I was hungry for more deliciousness and decided to go with Yelpie friend, Sharon for brunch. Bar Chuzo has the restaurant and bar attachment which is where we dined. I happen to like the bar room for dining, it's charming and quieter for a Sunday brunch. Bar Chuzo offers really nice Brunch selections from ceviche, salchipapas, tuna, steak and apps from delicious fries, calamari, crab, plantain chips, croquettes and so much more. Here's what we ordered: Apps- Plantain chips( dinamita !) with a side of salsa verde. Yuca Croquettes with Yuca, Chihuahua cheese, and uchucuta sauce( green herb chile sauce with nuts) Dinamita number two! Two different brunch menus, Menu 1 offers apps, sides, entrees, cocktails and desserts. Menu 2: Bottomless Brunch for 90 minutes choice of Margaritas for $35 or Mimosas for $30. Mains: Crab cake Benedict consists of sunny side up egg, crab cake, potato cake, uchucuta hollandaise sauce, crostini and Chuzo salad. Sharon enjoyed it very much.Dinamita number three. Chicken Chuzo: Brasa marinated chicken skewers, Andes Ecuadorian corn, yuca croquettes. There are two skewers with three pieces of chicken on each, scrumptious, loved the taste of the chicken, the croquettes ( yuca again) nice accompaniment and the corn was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend! Dinamita number four. Cocktail: Mango peach sangria hit the spot! Service: Gabriella is a great, professional and accommodating server. Absolutely wonderful and knows her stuff! Dinamita number five. There are delicious desserts as well but too full. The portions are generous and this meal for me was lunch/dinner. The vibe here is chill with Latin music seeping into your veins. 'Mis felicitaciones al personal!' ( my compliments to the staff). Bottomless Brunch: Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am- 3pm Lunch Monday-Fri 12-4m Dinner: Mon-Thurs 4-19pm. Friday 4-11 Bar Chuzo 9324 3rd Avenue Take R train to last stop 95th Street Bay Ridge,5 minute walk

Crab Cake Benedict with potato pancake with delicious dipping sauce

A delightful in person brunch today. Started with plantain chips and yucca balls for apps. They were deliciously addictive ant the accompanying dipping sauces made it even more enjoyable. Fawn chose the chicken Chuzo platter which she loved and I went with the crab cake Benedict. This was superb and honestly one of the most satisfying Benedict dishes I've ever had. The atmosphere was comfy and inviting and service was flawless and delightful.

Came here on may 16th, food was absolutely delicious, service was great and they were nice, ambience was nice. The small issue was that the fish and chips had some bones in it but overall, food was amazing.

    Seafood paella Hamburger
    Eileen H.

Food was solid, the burger was tasty and the seafood paella had great flavor and a generous portion. Shrimp was juicy, but the mussels were tiny and underwhelming for the price $32. Desserts were nice, though the crème brûlée had a hard candied top we weren't fans of (just personal taste). Space is a bit tight, but they make it work. Definitely on the pricey side, it feels like Manhattan pricing in a Brooklyn spot. Sort of like driving a Lamborghini in Flatbush area. The restaurant before Bar Chuzo was Oishi Noodle Bar and the cuisine was also on the pricier side. Both restaurants priced their cuisine on a pricier side of the block. Still, a good experience overall if you're craving Spanish/Ecuadorian food and don't mind splurging a little. We'd come back for a special treat.

The bar had a table in the front two corner with around 5 chairs per table and a table for maybe 2-3 people in front of the dj/karaoke setup. It happened to be karaoke night. Also, noone was sitting at the bar area at the time. There's also just one bathroom in the back of the bar. Since we just had dinner, we only ordered drinks. As always, we ordered 2 long islands. The drinks were lite at first, so it didn't feel as if there's much alcohol in them, but it hits later. Overall not a bad drink for the cost. I believe it was $12 per drink. Of course one drink isn't enough so we decided to get another drink similar to a long island but has blue curacao. We showed the server/bartender a picture of it and they said they could make it. We've never had the drink before so I can't compare it to other places. The drink was pretty good, but we still prefer the long islands more. Not that the drink didn't have enough alcohol though. Moving onto the vibes of the bar... it's very different from city vibes. It may be that my friend and I were the youngest ones there and everyone else were much older. Kudos to the singers though, they had such good lungs to assist with their singing. They were very much in tune and on beat. Would I come here again? Yes. But maybe not on karaoke night, since it was really difficult to hear my friend speak and have a conversation without asking him to repeat himself.

I think hands down, mirage is better. Come to the Brooklyn hangar only if you want to see a dj that isn't playing at the mirage.. I forgot to mention - I had standing VIP - that just means you have a space in front of everyone else that is closest to the dj. I think it wasn't worth it. If you do get VIP , get the VIP seating...not standing. With VIP seating you can actually sit with the DJs, which I thought was cool.
