The school/Faith community's spirit and pride is both evident and inspiring; although the campus is a bit outdated, and crowded in the middle of residential Grapevine, there is plenty of street parking, nearby eats, and friendly students/parents, from what I experienced. Also, the 7am carpool is better than the Texas State Fair's car show displays. Just like every other affluent private school, the number of soccer moms in 2014 Escalades outnumbers the annual Cadillac inventory for Sewell. Alas, this isn't much of a helpful review, but then again, if you're seriously looking for a good North Texas private school on here, you might wanna do some more googling. ;)

While people will question my interpretation, the community choose to combine what were supposed to be two free standing high schools into one high school to maintain their 5A football status. The public meetings for this decision were heated. This is stereotypical Texas HS football complete with indoor practice facilities and ineligible player controversies. http://goo.gl/Cil2fg . It is not unusual to have retired pro athletes move to the district to have their kids play here. This is not a criticism, but a reality of the culture and values here. What you have are two campuses with Freshmen/Sophomores at Carroll High School and a Juniors/Seniors at this campus. This difficulty is that because kids take different classes at different years, most of the students will end up commuting between campuses by buses provided by the schools. This is less than ideal. The bottomline is that this is an affluent school district with high sports and academic standards. Your child will get a solid education. The only big gap I can see is in the lack of a string program in the music department. Smaller, less affluent neighboring districts have better and more complete music programs. The counseling staff is excellent, the teachers are for the most part of high caliber, and there is a strong sense of school spirit. What is lacking is economic diversity. Even in the neighboring relatively affluent Grapevine-Colleyville, Coppell and Northwest school districts, there are working class families. Having a $100k household income will put you in the lowest quartile here. The kids openly talk about the "Southlake Bubble" referring to the insular affluence of the community. This is the land of conspicuous consumption. I don't think it is healthy and my daughter would have been better served by attending a more mixed community. All of that being said, if you are the private school type, buy a house in the district and save money on tuition. The education is comparable and your children will be well prepared for college.

While he is in therapy for this, the middle school Principal continuously targed him specifically in a discriminatory fashion often sending him home in tears. He was at a retreat and treated very poorly while away with no phone calls to allow him to speak to us. I would strongly advise AGAINST sending your child there if you care for their wellbeing both physically and mentally. They operate under being a 'Christian' school; however the administration is anything but that. They are wolves in sheeps clothing. Find someplace else.

Our child was injured on a retreat and we were not notified. She had a growth plate fracture for 2 days and we only found out from her when we picked her up. When the school was asked about why they handled the situation the way they did, they were the most unprofessional child based organization I've ever encountered. Their policies and procedures are either nonexistent or not followed. We brought concerns about their child safety plan and they deleted it from their website! We brought concerns of violations of zero tolerance policies including one on ones between staff and students and they did nothing but remove the publicly posted policy. Additionally they played songs like Halftime by the yin Yang twins and Plain Jane by asap ferg in their spirit programs and football games which glorifies everything the Bible is teaching against. They are aware of this and continue exposing the children to the music. This school is everything I don't want my children to learn about Christianity. Never been so disappointed in a "Christian" organization.
