Just recently, the building locks where changed without informing any of the current residents it was going to happen until the day they performed the action. I came home and couldn't get through the front building door! And guess how the new keys were delivered? They just dropped the new keys off outside the apartment doors, unsecured. Very smart. Also, they didn't switch all of the buildings door locks, so now we have multiple mismatch keys that work on different buildings doors. Avoid this place at all costs. I never leave reviews, this is my first, but I really hope this helps someone avoid the trouble I had to live through.

Property management asked me to reach through their email so i sent several emails, didnt receive any replies and just keep forcing me follow their rules. 3. EV chargers only 1/3 are working. Always full because only 1/3 chargers are working. 4. Dirty trashcan room. Used to do valet trash service (no more valet trash service but still charging $30 for regular trash service) and lock the trash entrace so trashed were just piled up in trashroom. There is no doorman, package room, pool, roof-deck, gym or any other convenience that one can usually find standard in a similar type of rental community in the Hermosa/Redondo Beach area. Azure's management company, Pan American, is a master of the "bait and switch" sales tactic in which they'll lure you in with rental concessions and then increase your rental rates as soon as your initial lease expires. Their rates are inflated for the market, which is why there are units sitting vacant with little interest from prospective tenants. The rent for my unit increased 12% year-over-year when you factor in the initial rent concession to bait us to move in and the property management company tried to claim that increased rental rates for the renewal are aligned with the local market. If that were true, there wouldn't be vacant units in the building with such high turnover. I offered to keep my rent flat in order to renew my lease, which is still 9% higher than my effective rent during the initial lease and they rejected the proposal. They would rather lose money offering a rental concession to new tenants than keep an existing tenant at full-price. Pan American's corporate greed and senseless business practices are unethical and tacky. Do yourself a favor and pass on this property!

The building does not have an on-site manager, but the manager has been quite responsive when I have reported problems. Without an on-site manager, package delivery services are somewhat questionable. Some packages do get delivered inside the security gate somehow, but some get left outside the gate by the mailboxes. I have chosen to have my packages delivered to The UPS Store less than a mile away. That has proven to be convenient enough for me. The new owners have done significant work on the property since they acquired it. The building has new exterior paint and landscaping. They are in the process of refurbishing the units with new cabinets, appliances, hardwood floors, and vertical blinds. There are sixteen units in the building, eight of which have two bedrooms, and the other eight have one bedroom. The building has a laundromat in the basement. Refurbished units are getting a stacked washer/dryer unit as well. All units come with a garage. Residents of two-bedroom units get their own two-car garage with over-hood storage cabinets. Those in one-bedroom units share a garage. The parking area has a security gate, and the garage doors can be locked as well, if desired. Additional storage space may be available for rent. The building is pet-friendly. First floor units are accessible to disabled people, but the wheelchair-bound may need to install a threshold ramp. There are no outdoor spaces for recreation, nor does the building have any other shared recreational facilities. Natural gas, water, and trash service are included in the rent. Time Warner Cable provides TV, phone, and broadband. Verizon services the area, and their phone and DSL services are available in the building. Only the slowest DSL service is available here. Verizon's FiOS is available in the street, but for some unknown reason, the ownership has chosen to not have it installed in the building. I find this puzzling given the effort they are putting into updating the property. My understanding is that Verizon will install it in the building for free, if allowed. My unit is quite comfortable. The living room in the two-bedroom units is quite large. The unit is heated by a single double-sided gas wall unit between the living room and the hall to the bedrooms. This means that the bedroom doors must be left open in the winter to allow heated air to flow into them. The neighbors in the building are all very nice. Unfortunately, more than half of them have moved out or are preparing to since I moved in. Apparently, after the building changed hands, the rent for the current residents was increased substantially to the extent that several of them have been forced to move out. The situation with the rents for the current residents who were here before the building changed hands is so extreme that it has me wondering how fairly rents will be handled from year to year. The building is less than half a mile from South Bay Galleria. That puts most shopping and several dining options within walking distance. Bus service is also convenient. Stops are located at the corner of Artesia and Inglewood a short block away, and the nearby mall is serviced by several lines; so public transportation is quite easy from this location.

I highly recommend this complex for anyone wanting to be 15 min away from the beach, looking for a quiet gated community suitable for families, plenty of shopping, and surrounded by some of the best places to eat that also stay open after midnight. I lived here for three years. Please be aware that this place will only give you one key fob per…read moreperson on the lease, so as a solo renter, I obviously only got one copy. I lost it once and I think they charged me to replace it, which I wouldn't complain about (totally my fault), but would've just been easier if I had another copy instead of waiting hours without being able to enter my apartment while waiting for to get a replacement. Also I ALWAYS struggled when people visited, because I either had to escort them in and out at all times, or leave them with the keys if they were staying over. On my last year they did install a phone key service which was nice. Midway through the second time I renewed my lease (for year 3), I immediately regretted it and wished I would've moved out instead. During my first two years ish, it was truly the perfect time to live there, you could park anywhere, management wasn't being greedy or unfair, there was valet trash, elevators were cleaned regularly, etc. I believe at some point during 2023, when they switched management and re-branded the apartments, was when EVERYTHING went downhill. They removed valet trash but still charged tenants ~$50+/month for trash fees (insane), they also started to assign parking spaces, which people were not following for the longest time, and left the garage gate open for weeks claiming that it was broken and wouldn't do anything to fix it (leading to outsiders and robbers getting access to the upper/private floors). In addition, they had the AUDACITY to start charging tenants $3/hour per car for visitor's parking like we weren't paying already an arm and a leg for rent... Luckily, after people started complaining they "negotiated" the policy with corp. management and agreed to give a modest 72 hours a month of free guest parking to each tenant before starting to charge. I literally started avoiding inviting people over that often because it was just inconvenient and embarrassing having to explain to them that I needed their car information to register their parking and of course pay for it myself...because it's just not right to ask someone visiting you to pay to park at your place. That's not even the worst thing to happen here... several times I woke up startled and scared in the middle of the night (I'm talking 2/3am), because their fire alarms would go off randomly. Inside each unit they have fire horns which when triggered made the most loud and excruciating sound you could ever imagine. Most of those nights I had to work very early the next morning, and the shock would just keep me awake for the rest of the night and unable to sleep again. Even to this day I have PTSD of that sound, and when confronting management multiple times to do anything to fix it and not let that happen again unless it was truly an emergency, they replied with their classic "there's nothing we can do about it". Several people even started removing the alarm horns from their units to avoid waking up in the middle of the night again, and management would just put up letters on our doors telling us to reinstall them, otherwise they would have to inspect each unit and charge the delinquents a penalty. After all this rant, you might be wondering why I stayed here for so long, well I can't deny this complex of some of their pros... the home gym and electric car chargers were very convenient, the apartment itself was decent and close to work, and whenever I had the smallest issue in the unit, maintenance would be prompt to try to fix it. I also never had any packages lost or stolen, and getting to park in a covered parking spot was a huge plus compared to other places in had seen in the area. Nevertheless, after so many staggering problems and the terrible direction that I saw the management company had been heading towards, the pros started to outweigh the cons. In addition, the rent going up so much for smaller sized 1bd in HAWTHORNE didn't feel right to me either. I just couldn't see myself signing up for a 4th year. All in all, if you're planning to move here, please take this unbiased review into account and know that most big issues with this complex won't be addressed and you'll likely be ignored or dismissed by management when making a complaint.

Just two things that need to be addressed promptly by the owners of the apartment complex: 1). Trash shoots need to me DEEP CLEANED. I've lived in apartments my whole life. And these are the worse trash chutes I have ever seen. I can't step foot into the trash area to throw my trash away. not even close to the chut either. So throwing my trash is a horrible experience for me because You have to wear the right shoes..if you don't you track this Laywer of filth into your apartment and it's not ok. My shoes almost have to be thrown away. They need to just hire someone to come deep clean those a few times to clean it up once and for good. and maybe even repaint that area. This is not something that can be ignored anymore. Those chute areas are a health hazard. We recently also got notices on our door stating "there would be fines given to tenants who don't put the trash into the chutes". But how can we do that if we have step foot into that area at all! This has to be addressed! i literally can't for my well being step foot in there or it ruins my shoes. plus how are they going to give us "fines" if they don't even have cameras in any of the tenant areas. No cameras in the hallways. No cameras in the trash shoot area by the doors. 2). Which brings me to the next issue. There are no CAMERAS in any of the tenant areas to protect the tenants well being. i heard that there are only cameras in the common areas and first floors of parking. That's a problem. It's not enough. This is la. It would protect both parties tenant and landlords to have them atleast by all doors bare minimu. even if they couldnt have them in all the hallways. How much does 4-5 cameras cost. Not a lot. How many problems is that going to solve. A lot. How much money are we paying for these apartments? A lot. These two things are imperative issues that need to be handled fast. I was getting mg makeup done the other day also and one of the girls who did my makeup at the mall actually lives in the same apartments as me. She told me she got her car broken into also on the 7th floor! No cameras..course that's going to happen! Look..get cameras in the building or this is a walking safety hazard. spend the extra $700 to get cameras. She said she told the front and they did nothing. It's time to do something about this. Before this gets worse. All and all this apartment complex is great though. China the manager at the front is great. There's lots of parking everywhere. Most people that live here seem cool. This location is great. The hallways always smells super good which is a plus. maintenece is on point and fixes things fast. The apartment I have is super updated and nice. They also need to make sure they fix the jacuzzi also because it breaks down a lot. It's a really beautiful jacuzzi though, and pool. The gym here is spectacular and no one is ever in here. And they even give you nice towels and free water to use. It's honestly a great apartment complex.

The manager and landlord have such a blase attitude about it which makes it worse. But on top of that there are roaches and rodents the trash bins are always over flowing cause there are only 4 bins for 130 units. I mean come on they charge enough rent,just get more bins damn it!
