The food came out pretty fast and was definitely hot. The fries were some of the best I have had in quite some time - so crispy on the outside but soft in the middle. Both burgers were well built, juicy, and massive. The staff was friendly. Even though one person was training the other (pretty sure it was her first day), they were still very attentive. We were there right when they opened, so we were the only ones there. They have plenty of seating and offer takeout. The dining room is clean and well kept. Maybe if the employee didn't mumble and face away from me when giving instructions, I would actually be able to understand what they were telling me to do. I ordered my food with a soda (in the process of ordering, had to ask the employee to repeat themself several times). They turned away after the transaction, and they were mumbling something from across the restaurant that sounded like "get the soda yourself" or something along those lines. So. When I was handed the food and not handed a soda along with it, I assumed they did, in fact, mean I should get it myself. Plus, I had paid for the soda and it wasn't given to me. Sooo. I went to the fountain drink station and started getting it myself, as I thought they'd said. Just as what I'd ordered and paid for, a large diet soda. The employee flew out of the kitchen with their voice raised a bit (not yelling, but alarming nonetheless), going "Ma'am, no! Ma'am!" I stopped in my tracks and they took the filled soda cup from my hand and said, "I gave you the soda already!" Uh. What? Then why don't I have it? It's not on the counter anywhere, either. So I'm confused and frustrated out of my mind, panicking a bit. What in the fresh hell was going on? They said something about how they'd told me to get the bottled soda from the fridge... Uhh when did you say that? And you never even asked me if I'd wanted bottle or fountain, 'cause I wouldn't have went for bottled, yuck. I was really upset because I was pretty shocked and confused. And over such a stupid thing...? I'm Autistic and have CPTSD, I admit my emotions are hard to control. So I went to my car to calm down for a while. I didn't touch the food, I'd lost my appetite. And I felt mistreated and like I'd been treated rudely. So I went back in with my receipt to ask for a refund. Same employee comes up to the counter. I present my receipt and original payment card, and I say, (admittedly with tears and makeup streaming down my cry-swollen face lol) "Can I please get a refund?" Employee: "What?" Me: "Can I please just get a refund." Employee: "Where's the food?" Huh. Why would a restaurant want the food back if they're just going to have to toss it anyway? I didn't have a problem with the food, I had a problem with the service. I almost felt like this person was acting like they didn't recognize me or remember, despite my distinctive appearance and the fact I'd just been in there, on an extremely slow day, no less. Plus, I had my receipt, proof of purchase, right on the counter. I honestly felt I was possibly being mocked or even gaslit. I had said before during the drink mishap that "I got confused," and after I had asked for a refund to no avail, they said, "Where's the food? I'm so confused." It also felt like discrimination due to me being Autistic. I come off as odd to people and they assume I'm stupid and make fun of me, I get it all the time. And I do indeed get confused. This experience felt like I was being made fun of and taken advantage of because my autism made me seem "stupid" to them. But clearly I also wasn't worth being spoken to audibly and without a mumble, nor spoken to in my direction so I could actually hear the employee and their instructions. I wasn't worth asking what kind of flipping soda I wanted lol. Anyway. After the employee seemed to act like they didn't know what was going on when I asked twice for a refund, I said "nevermind" and walked out. No maturity, no accountability, no apology. I get things are really nightmarishly tough in the world right now, and it can be awful to work in customer service. But that's why we need just basic respect more than ever. Even if it's just getting someone a burger or a soda. I know it sounds like such a small thing -- at the end of the day, I don't give a damn about some soda, I just want basic respect and to not be someone's doormat or punching bag to vent their frustrations on in the form of rudeness and cruelty. It just really messed up my day, honestly. I hadn't cried that hard in a while; I was just so confused and alarmed by all this. read more

We ordered our food, they have two prices normal and combo. I just wanted a burger but was told that it comes with fries anyways. I asked for sweet potato fries, and they are so soggy. Got order of mozzarella sticks, not worth it for the price and get 4 of them. The service was ok but took a really long time for the order. I won't be going back and if I could get a return of money I would! I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and it's more like well done. So much grease more than McDonald's! I'm still trying to figure out the Fusion part, maybe because they also have tacos? ANYWAY, this place is worth a try, don't pass it up just because its wedged into a small retail space in a busy area. We tried Fusion on a Friday just after the lunch rush which worked out great for us, barely had to wait. Husband ordered the classic or whatever they call their "standard" burger and I ordered the Southern Border burger. The vibe inside is kind of an old fashioned diner and burger joint mixed with some local history and mining lamps. Maybe that's the fusion? There's also a video lottery area in the back, it is an interesting mix. As I said, we didn't have to wait long. The burger patties are thick and the buns are flavorful. The jalapenos on my burger are the fresh kind which is great, always a nice thing to find that a restaurant uses fresh over canned/pickled ones. They were thick slices too, so my burger almost seemed like I wouldn't be able to bite into it. It was very good, cooked just right to my well done preferences. And the fries... YES. The restaurant itself is dive bar adjacent with video poker in the back so a lot of people seemed to come for that. The burger was prepared to meet your preferred level of pink. Fun take on burgers and sandwiches. With an Asian flair. Kimchi burger was good, expect to feel stuffed after this. The bun was a bit soft and had a hard time holding up to the wet kimchi by the end. Angora chicken was a real chicken breast and had good flavor. Fries were battered and tasty, similar to Cafe 440 or Cornucopia style. Not great for the price, I was excited to try the fries based on someone's recommendation in a review, they were just frozen French fries.

First off, I wish I could make this a 4.5 review. They have really fast service and yummy fries. They seem to be lightly battered and lightly seasoned so they're are very crunchy, not at all limp even after picking up and driving home to eat them. Love it. I got the Classic Fusion burger on a lettuce wrap with cheddar and fusion sauce on the side. I didn't find the sauce particularly flavorful, so I'm glad it was on the side. The burger was pretty good. They recommend it medium rare--go with that. I asked for medium and it was well done (no pink at all.) Not a deal breaker at all because it was still tasty; next time, I'll take their recommendation. I'll also skip the lettuce wrap next time. It didn't hold the burger together at all and ended up being super messy because there was a lot of ketchup on the burger and the lettuce didn't fully wrap around the burger: it was more like a lettuce bun with pieces of lettuce on the top and bottom. They didn't skimp on the lettuce--it just didn't stay together to eat like a traditional burger. Maybe better with a fork and knife? I'll go back and try a specialty burger prepared medium rare with a bun. I'm gonna be wishing for those fries for a while! I definitely recommend giving this place a shot. read more

My review and suggestions below are based off the Southern Border burger. I don't want to discourage people from trying a new place in town, but there are better burger spots in Eugene. I'd give them 3 stars if this wasn't their second review on their Yelp. My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich which was very decent. I'd opt for that or the classic burger if this is your first time. Get the sliced bread with the chicken sandwich, not the bun. The business could make this burger meal better by doing these things: 1) Get a new bun. It's incredibly big, thick and fluffy. Maybe some people want that? But I don't understand the appeal of fighting through a big mass produced buttery bun to get to the real flavor and ingredients I'm paying for. 2) I never thought I'd have to say this about any guac: but I need lighter guacamole on this burger. The guac taste like one part salsa, one part onion, one part avocado. It's not bad to me, but the amount I had overpowered the meat. And the meat was good too! 3) Change the fries. Maybe they haven't been able to secure a decent supplier? But there are better frozen box brands at the restaurant supply store in town. I've never been a fan of the batter fries, too much non-potato flavor and some of the smaller ones just turn into oil crisps. 4) Soggy fried jalapenos. I ordered late in the day so I could imagine why they were soggy, but they were also placed right on the guac it seemed, so it's not a wonder. They were cut on a great bias that gave a ton of surface for the batter, but the batter turned into a soggy mess upon meeting the burger. 5) Consistent packaging/order size: The chicken sandwich meal took up more space in the box (a larger takeout box mind you than my burger) and thus got way fewer fries on the side. Their French fries are phenomenal--crispy on the inside, and almost creamy on the inside.
