My family always comes here for dinner when we are on the island. There are not too many options for dining and this one is close to the BG Club which makes it very convenient for us. The sushi nachos are a must have! There are huge chunks of fresh tuna on them and it was enough to split between 4 for an appetizer. We also had the grouper fingers for an appetizer but those were not anything compared to the grouper fingers elsewhere on the island (temp or loose caboose). I had the New York strip which wasn't priced too unreasonable at $42, but it was done a bit well when I asked for medium. However, they did ask if I was happy with the way it was cooked and I said yes so I really cannot complain about this! Even for being more well done than I would have liked, it was delicious. My step father had the hog fish which was okay, but not something he would get again. It was quite dry and the fish did not come off the skin easily. It was not a skin you could eat. If you are going here, I recommend sticking to the fried rice or pad Thai, as the Asian fusion food is truly what they excel at. Everything else is a disappointment. read more

We had an amazing dinner experience @ Fusion last night. From the appetizers, to main courses, to desserts - it was just perfect. This is a huge improvement from last year when we first went to dine there. Apparently, they have a new chef - Tim Spain- whom we had the pleasure to meet while @ Boca Grande Resort. Very friendly and impeccable service. Also, many thanks to Margarita - our host- who did anything possible to make us feel welcome! Summary: we were pretty pleasantly surprised by the food quality here. Everything we had was good to very good and we'd definitely go back again. Wines were very reasonably priced and service at the bar was solid. Room: Fusion is in the upstairs area of a midscale resort where we stayed for a trip to visit friends. It was close, and the reviews, while sparse, were favorable. It's pretty well appointed for a beach-area restaurant. We decided to skip the dining room and went for the old, copper-topped bar. In the evening there wasn't much of a view, but it was comfortable and cozy. Service: Our bartender was very attentive without crowding us. They use a team system, so the bartender took our order and several people brought it out and served it. Service was really well paced: we never felt rushed and we never sat there wondering what was going on in the kitchen. The hot appetizers we ordered came out pretty quickly. Food: Because this location is well outside of town and in the resort, we didn't expect all that much, but the food was surprisingly good. We started with the dumplings and spring rolls. I don't know whether either was hand made, but both were very good and came to the bar quickly. then we had the tuna poke (very fresh and lightly seasoned) and the volcano roll (also very tasty) followed by a half rack of ribs. What can I say, we were feeling like we should take advantage of the great variety in the menu... We live in Atlanta, so we're a little particular about our BBQ but the bartender told us they were a winner so we went all in--and they were practically falling-off-the-bone tender. They came with bar fries that were average, but the cole slaw was also a winner. Another winner was the wine. They had a small but interesting list of wines by the bottle and they seemed pretty reasonably priced: about 2X what they cost in the store. We chose a great Spanish red (2013 Numanthia Termes, Toro) that took about 10 minutes to open up and was really (and I mean really!) delicious. We finished with the key lime pie, which also got a high recommendation, but didn't quite live up to the billing. It was certainly a little better than average, but we put it at a 6 on the 1-10 scale. Good, not great. Value: We had a very nice meal with a great bottle of wine and two cocktails for about $150 before the tip, and the wine was about $50 of that. It's not an everyday place for sure, but for a celebratory weekend or date night it's a pretty good value. read more

Well, the food here was good, the tuna poke was fresh; the sushi roles, while simple, are decent, but they could step it up a notch, to me fusion notes combined flavors, like a sushi role with spicy tuna, ginger and coconut, something with a twist. Anyhow, the Thai dish was good, and the server was super nice and knowledgeable. I thought it was odd they had St. Louis ribs on the menu....not Mexican, Thai or Asian.... I would eat here again, but my one main issue was the decor, being in the dining room upstairs with the red walls and conch shell lights was like being in the belly of a whale, weird, the bar area had a much better ambiance and I would hope they consider painting the upstairs to something more open and airy. read more

Great Asian restaurant just north of Boca Grande, food was great, and the staff was really friendly. Not sure why this place isn't as busy as the few other restaurants in the area, especially since the other restaurants in the all have the same kind of food. Fusion was OK. The menu lives up to the signage, as there are Indian, Mexican, and East Asian options. I enjoyed a Tom Kha soup, gyoza pot stickers, and a dragon roll. The sushi is what I like to call "imitation" sushi - just lots of rice and not much fish. Plus, there are no real fish options on the menu - the rolls offer only salmon, tuna, or cooked shrimp tempura. I think it's safe to skip the sushi here. As for the soup, the broth base was delicious and had all the right flavors - I was just put off a little by the tomatoes in it. I can't remember if the description included tomatoes but I don't think Thai soups usually have tomato. That said, I had no problem with the pot stickers! Also they have Ichiban beer there, gotta love a Japanese brew. The place was clean and had an interesting layout; the service was fine, and the bathrooms nice, etc, etc. Wouldn't go back but can't say I had a terrible time either. It's so refreshing to have something international and fun on the island of Boca Grande. Staff and food are absolutely divine, their staff is extremely knowledgeable about these different dishes. Their menu will tantalize you to try something new, with a lavish selection Thai and Indian also a bit of Mexican. I myself had the dragon roll to start with and the Tikka Gravy dish for my entree, and it had Just the right level of freshness and spice. I highly recommend you to try it. read more

We stayed at the Boca Grande Resort and stopped in for some appetizers. Everything was handmade, fresh and amazing. The steamed dumplings were the best we've had and the crab Rangoon had real crab inside. Our expectations were surpassed and we were completely blown away with the chef. Service was great, our bartender was very informal and made great recommendations. Would definitely recommend! read more

So this was our second visit to the island and our first time at Fusions. We sure were in for a treat! For appetizers we ordered sushi. And I have to tell you it was the best sushi we have ever had. We ordered several rolls but the Mexican roll and the New England roll were soooo good. Pure perfection, the rice was cooked perfectly and the shrimp tempura was delicious! Compliments to the sushi chef! For our dinners we ordered, fried rice, pad Thai, osso bucco and lamb and yes my kids ordered another sushi roll! All of it delicious! The compliments doesn't stop there our server was friendly and efficient and the manager came out and was so friendly and such a delight! I recommend anyone to one visit Boca grande but two eat at this restaurant! You'll love it! read more
