We were concerned that the new shoe may hurt, but the attendant assured us that these shoes had a 30 day return policy and that we could go ahead and try them, returning them if they didn't work for us. With that, we bought them and went on a hike to test them out. My wife ended up with severe foot pain. We tried to return them and were told the return could not be honored since they had been worn outdoors and were not in the original condition. I don't think this is unreasonable, but it would have really been good to know that- so we could have only tested them when walking indoors. That lack of information caused an expensive mistake. When we have purchased Brooks online their returns have been more hassle free (the company appears to price returns into their items) so we didn't think to question the employee further. The person who waited on us kept rushing us, although she was decisive and knew exactly what she needed and wanted, so there was NO reason to rush through communication with us. The 3rd pair she tried on was the only correct size in that style, but had been a display shoe and was badly scratched. We asked if he could check inventory in another store (as that had been offered to my the previous day, during the sale). He got rather indignant about it and said they were too busy to call. I reminded him that he could do an electronic look up, as that had been done for me. He said he had done that and gave us some convoluted explanation that made no sense. I then asked if he could put in an order with Dansko as I know a nearby competitor with only one store does that routinely. He said absolutely not, they never do that. So, she bought her 2 pair and we left. We then went to the Falmouth LW location, which I will review separately as it was a VERY different experience.

RON IS A HOOT!! I shopped here last year and bought some…read moresilver spoons since some of my spoons went missing. Fast forward to this year, my daughter is getting married and the Wedding Shower was going to be a Tea Party. We wanted to make up some Thank You Gifts with a Tea Cup and a silver spoon so I went back to Ron Reed. He was annoyed right off the bat because I didn't see his sign to turn the light on for myself. OK, sorry Buddy! So, he had to reprimand me for that. All I wanted was spoons so I went to the silverware box and pulled some out. I needed about 25-30 of them but since he charges fifty cents a piece which is actually quite pricey for old tarnished spoons. I decided to just get 40 of them...20 bucks! Sure, that was fine, he didn't have to give me change, no problem. I'll get 'em and go...NO. Not going to happen. Nothing can be easy! I walked up to Ron and he asked me if I can count. HUH? Yeah, I can count (at least up to 40). Then he tells me he's "been taken before". TAKEN? WHAT? I told him I wasn't there to TAKE HIM! I'm halfway mad at myself because he counted them and said I had 41. Darn it!! I can count and I thought I had 40 but he counted 41. I should have counted them again for myself but I wasn't there to TAKE HIM, so I reached in my purse and pulled out 50 cents. Why I'm mad at myself is that I didn't need that many spoons to begin with. I should have put some back instead of buying more than I needed. I'll just say; He's not a people person! I'm giving him 2 stars because his place is better organized than most "Antique" shops. It's small so it doesn't take too long to go through his place. Pretty much has the same stuff as most antique stores. The first time I was there he was complaining about his ex-wife to my husband. He just needs to learn how to talk to people. RUDE!

No one could muster a "hello" or even any acknowledgment that I was there. While the selection was nice, it all comes down to service. I f I wanted to browse on my own, I could have looked at eBay or Amazon. Everybody is struggling these days, but treating a potential customer with such disregard will never work. Won't be back.
