My daughter and I went to Lamey-Wellehan yesterday to get a pair of sneakers for our upcoming trip to Discovery Cove and Sea World. My daughter has ankle trouble, flat, very sensitive feet. Michelle was awesome! She listened to my daughter and worked with her to find a sneaker that offered the support and fit that she needed. We were very pleased with the whole process. read more

Lewiston - The attendant was quite knowledgeable and had a good conversation with us. Ultimately, we wanted to go with a new type of shoe as Brooks had changed the previous line my wife wore. We were concerned that the new shoe may hurt, but the attendant assured us that these shoes had a 30 day return policy and that we could go ahead and try them, returning them if they didn't work for us. With that, we bought them and went on a hike to test them out. My wife ended up with severe foot pain. We tried to return them and were told the return could not be honored since they had been worn outdoors and were not in the original condition. I don't think this is unreasonable, but it would have really been good to know that- so we could have only tested them when walking indoors. That lack of information caused an expensive mistake. When we have purchased Brooks online their returns have been more hassle free (the company appears to price returns into their items) so we didn't think to question the employee further. Scarborough location-my sister and I shopped there yesterday, the last day of the sale. The store was very busy, we were NOT in a rush and my sister went with the intent to purchase 3 pair of Dansko shoes-all with a retail price of $140.00. The person who waited on us kept rushing us, although she was decisive and knew exactly what she needed and wanted, so there was NO reason to rush through communication with us. The 3rd pair she tried on was the only correct size in that style, but had been a display shoe and was badly scratched. We asked if he could check inventory in another store (as that had been offered to my the previous day, during the sale). He got rather indignant about it and said they were too busy to call. I reminded him that he could do an electronic look up, as that had been done for me. He said he had done that and gave us some convoluted explanation that made no sense. I then asked if he could put in an order with Dansko as I know a nearby competitor with only one store does that routinely. He said absolutely not, they never do that. So, she bought her 2 pair and we left. We then went to the Falmouth LW location, which I will review separately as it was a VERY different experience. read more

They have a really solid shoe selection, I will give LW that! I went home with a pair of boots I sort of felt were too big, but the salesperson assured me with thicker socks they would be a good fit. I wore them a bit at home and determined they were much too big. In the store I was told the boots only came in whole sizes, but a quick internet search confirmed they came in half sizes. I feel like I coerced into buying a much bigger size than I needed because they didn't have the half sizes. I returned 2 days later to return with no hassle. The store has a lot of parking and offers nicer shoes than any other shop in the area IMO. Another shopper complained about the service to me and that she'd been in 2 days in a row in an attempt to find a sales associate free to assist her. I'm glad they have a lot of customers, but hopefully there can be more emphasis put on the customer experience since the shoes sold are premium shoes and come at a premium price. read more

Wonderful locally owned shoe store near Auburn mall. Great selection of kids shoes, men's, and women's. Lots of staff willing to help and extremely knowledgeable. Large liquidation room, but no men's shoes on liquidation only women's. Lots of boots and running shoes. The kids area has a nice tree house kind of fort for the kids to play on. They also have toys for the kids. They have a lot of higher end shoe brands like Merrill. Their prices are competitive, but they carry more expensive shoe brands which cost more. It is a great local store with a great selection. read more

Lamey Wellehan is, by far, the worst company in Lewiston-Auburn to be employed by. For the near-year that I was employed there, I was bullied relentlessly by my boss, Kim. She treated me different than my coworkers (noticeably, as all my coworkers could pick up on it), insulted me constantly (which, HR was okay with), kept a public list on me and my health problems, etc., I could continue on for ages. It all came to fruition when she laid her hands illegally on me, and assaulted me, and nothing was done, despite various reports. It is well known that Lamey Wellehan does not care about their employees, and it should be well known that they also support this sort of inappropriate behavior from their higher-ups. They care much more about the "customer experience" than the health and safety of their employees. This place caused me to go through three different kinds of anti-depressants/anxiety meds within the span of seven months. Avoid like the plague. read more

I vary rarely take the time to write a review, but after returning home from the Auburn store tonight, I felt that I needed to say something about the Excellent CUSTOMER Service I received from Nice Lady clerk named Robin. She went out of her way to find me an older reciept that I needed to verify something in my account. she was very patient with me & took the time to find what I needed. More Businesses would be lucky to have an employee like her. More Customer Service Reps could learn a lot from her, makes you glad to do business with this Store. Thanks, R Bessette read more

Store Manager is rude. Her employees told me the wrong information and because of that she huffed at me and gave me an additude. The employees (other than her) were friendly and nice. We used to buy our boots there but we will be taking our buisness to another place. read more
