    Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich

The focaccia of the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich is arguably the softest and fluffiest bread I have ever consumed. Otherwise, pretty neat joint with reasonable prices and nice ambiance.

    Baileys and pistachio cheesecake

Went there for after diner desserts. They have a lot of cake options including cheesecake options. Me and my friend tried 2 different cheesecake flavors : baileys and pistachio. They were both really good. You could really taste the Baileys flavor in the Baileys one. I don't know if there's alcohol or not in it. The pistachio was a really good cheesecake too. However, I think that there was very little pistachio flavor. It tasted more like a classic delicious Philadelphia cheesecake with small bits of pistachio in it. I would definitely come back to try more of their cakes. This place also has brunch and lunch and diner options. You can seat wherever you want and you have to go to the counter to order.

    It's a diner on Bloor.

Your map of regular diners in To should include Future. In among trendier bars and resto's, they still have the $2 student specials like a massive plate of mashed potatoes with gravy that you won't find anywhere else. Basic cafeteria style service where you have to watch everyone else to figure out, but once you get it, chow down and move along. They even have an AYCE perogie night which is kind of fantastic if you are in the mood for carbs loaded with more carbs. The dining area is spacious enough and if you are eating solo it is a great spot to meld into the background scenery (70s style wood) and din. Nobody will judge at Future. I had the breakfast which was eggs benny with ham, nothing fancy, just like To personified.

    This meaty chili is b*mb!

In A Nutshell: -Future Bistro has some very, very good chili. -Seriously, I'm writing this entire review about their meaty chili. -It doesn't look like anything special when you order it, but as soon as you take a bite, you're like, "WOW". Overall, come here order the chili and get the Space Invader IPA to wash it all down.

Future Bistro is a downtown student favourite...the food is cheap, served cafeteria style, and the service is friendly. The restaurant doesn't aspire to be anything fancy (...and it's not), but it's a perfectly acceptable place to grab a quick basic bite for a low price. The tables could use a little TLC as many of them are quite wobbly (like, your coffee will spill out of its cup wobbly). ------------------- Follow me on Instagram @yamisohungry for more!

3 stars seems right... Has the potential for 5. Interior needs modernization (floors, setup). Chicken schnitzel is decent, better in surrounding area. More chicken, less breading. Perfect corner location in busy annex.

Caesar salad with garlic bread + egg benedict

Good prices, big portions, mediocre food. Cesar salad was plain, little dressing had to ask for more, garlic bread with it was good! Eggs benny was okay, hollandaise sauce did not have much flavour but home fries were great!

Overall: Not too bad, worth a try Price: Decent for breakfast and some meals. CAKEs/DESSERTS ARE TOO PRICEY Portion: not too bad. decent portion Taste: nothing spectacular, your average cafe/restaurant Service: its okay, they don't really serve you, you order then Sit then get your food then eat then but plates in the bin Venue: cute, cozy, people are with their partners or some people by themselves doing work. Been coming here for a while, they have student specials on week days too which I like.

humble and amazing eatery , everything there is what you get everywhere but the taste, the quality , the price and the people are exceptional here ! i go here all the time and recommend all

If you enjoy mediocre half-assed cooking then this is the place for you! Tonight's dish was: Burnt dry Schnitzel Tasteless, flavourless chickpea salad Lumpy, cold mashed potatoes. The cutlery was dirty - a perfect pairing for the dumpy atmosphere. The wait staff doesn't care about much of anything and I'm generally confused why this place was so crowded. The food is overpriced and disappointing. Very underwhelming. Booo.

    Congealed coffee residue.

From the hostess to the waitstaff. All very polite and welcoming. We observed them with other guests and they seemed very patient with the loud kids...and adults to be fair. LOL We had the big skillet both days as well as the breakfast sandwich. While there were some variances, we enjoyed both experiences. The first visit was better in my opinion - the potatoes were tender and not overcooked and my fruit cup didn't have a lot of cantaloupe. I have shared pictures of the menu as well. We had sparkling water and diet cola both times. Our beverages never ran dry. There is an upstairs that overlooks the first floor dining area. We wondered if anyone had ever spilled a beverage that landed on guests below. We could definitely see the possibility of that happening. They also had a nice patio, however, on the hotter days, not sure how enjoyable the city smell would be while trying to eat. Interesting - they only had one bathroom. So we observed a line. And there are tables right next to the door. I would avoid those seats if possible. A little too close to the restroom in my opinion. If we are in the area again, we would definitely eat here again, although they may be at the new location if we visit in the future. I look forward to seeing the upgraded features at the new location.

Pierina guided us via phone and even came outside of the restaurant and waved as we approached. That was awesome Customer service as well as kindness. Ambiance was chill inside. Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

The almond croissant, when you're lucky enough to claim one before nine, delivers a genuinely impressive balance of shattering, buttery layers and a filling laced generously with almond cream, more Parisian in spirit than most bakeries attempting the same feat across this city. Even the raspberry version, when available, carries the same confident hand in the kitchen. The coffee program deserves equal praise. A well pulled latte and a properly balanced cappuccino suggest a team that treats espresso with the same seriousness as their pastry case, and it shows in the cup. Where the experience finds room to grow is in the choreography of the space itself. The room is petite, charming in its cobalt blue framed way, but the flow between ordering and pickup can feel cramped during a rush, and seating fills quickly. The patio, however, is a genuine reward, a shaded perch worth claiming on a slow afternoon. This is a cafe operating with real ambition and skill, let down only occasionally by its own popularity. Arrive early, claim a croissant while you still can, and settle onto the patio; you'll leave understanding exactly why regulars keep coming back.

Awesome presentation and definitely Instagram worthy. I got the huevos rancheros, it was more like an egg burrito with beans, sauce and potatoes on top. The potatoes were probably my favourite out of everything. It was good but not the traditional you would expect. My friends sadly did not like their eggs benedict. The coffee was also average, not very strong or fragrant. Service was absolutely terrible. Our sever took so long to come, we see him just chatting in the corner. It was hard to flag him down for anything. It was not a nice experience. Food (3.5/5) - the menu is a combination of small and large plates ideal for sharing. A cosmopolitan menu of diverse items from many different cuisines. - Baja Caesar Salad - baby romaine, corn, caesar dressing, agave bacon, croutons, grana padano, chili spice. This was pretty good, romaine was fresh and sauce not too overpowering with a slight kick to it. - Coconut Shrimp with mango salsa, lime, chipotle aioli. Also pretty good... shrimp was cooked fine and the garnishes worked with it. - Tuna Ceviche with avocado, cilantro, corn, red onions, leche de tigre, cancha, plantain. This one was average. The sashimi chunks were pretty average and the overall mix seemed to lack flavour and moistness. - Hamachi Crudo with avocado, elderflower, pickled strawberry, jalapeño, pistachio, basil, olive oil. This was one pretty bad... some of the worst hamachi I have ever had! Overly fishy and off-colour. Service (4/5) - server and assistants were friendly and generally attentive. Some lapses in check ins from time to time. Rooftop is first come, first serve so a reservation does not mean you will be seated quickly and may have to hang out in the interior bar or tables until ready. Atmosphere (4.75/5) - you really cannot top the view from Kost. It has multiple look out areas besides the patio dining area by the infinity pool. They have a raised photo pedestal which is ideal to take pictures with the Tower, Rogers Centre and lake in the background. They also have some trendy couches and sitting areas as well. The interior dining area is also pretty good with window views outside and a California vibe to it. Overall (4/5) - Yes, the food is on the average side for the price. However, it really is a great atmosphere for dining, even if sitting inside. It is a bucket list destination at a minimum and worth a repeat imo.
