My Experience With Bright Light Catering -- Customer Service Matters…read more My philosophy on customer service comes down to Five A's: ACKNOWLEDGE -- Hear your customer's concerns. APOLOGIZE -- When expectations aren't met, a sincere apology matters. APPRECIATE -- Value the trust customers place in your business. ACT -- Take appropriate steps toward resolving the problem. ASSURE -- Leave the customer knowing their concerns mattered. Unfortunately, my experience with Bright Light Catering fell short of these principles. I hired them for my Finally 50 Celebration, an important milestone for me and my family. There were concerns with the catering services, but what became equally disappointing was how those concerns were handled afterward. One concern involved food/items we provided for the event that, in our experience, were removed and never returned. We brought this to the business's attention and gave them an opportunity to address it. The items were not returned or reimbursed. Mistakes happen. I understand that. How a business responds after a mistake is what defines customer service. While attempting to communicate my concerns and seek a reasonable resolution, I received a cease-and-desist letter through an attorney. That response was upsetting and discouraging. I wasn't looking for a fight; I was looking for acknowledgment, communication, and a good-faith effort toward resolution. I responded in writing and requested identification of the specific statements they believed were false and the factual basis for those allegations. At the time of my final written correspondence, I had not received that information. Having been in business myself, I don't expect perfection. I do expect communication, accountability, professionalism, empathy, and an effort to make things right. There is a significant difference between an unhappy customer and an unhappy customer who feels unheard. For anyone hiring a caterer for an important occasion: get everything in writing, document what you provide, keep your receipts, identify personal items clearly, and communicate concerns promptly. I sincerely wish this experience had given me something different to write about. Acknowledge. Apologize. Appreciate. Act. Assure. Because great service isn't only about what you serve. It's also about how you make people feel. Love Mrs. Brandye Mackey

Reeses (I have no idea if that spelled right) with Icy Spot was at the Vystar for concert night!…read moreCrazy Mix Tape lineup of NKOTB, En Vogue, Salt-n-Pepa & Rick Astley and classic Florida summer made it HOT! Normally I am chilly inside the Vystar- but not this night! So when I spotted the Icy Spot with boozy Icys- I was all in! We rolled up and ordered four large pina coladas with double shots of Bacardi. It was pricey- but lets face it, at an event you just expect to pay more for anything. $29 for a large double shot Icy. Reeses got to work making our drinks and making us happy! They hit the spot for us over heated ladies screaming our heads off and dancing like crazy people! So much so, a second round happened! Mango-pineapple! YUM! I love frozen cocktails, but rarely get them (unless I'm on a beach)- so this was a delight!

My friend called this spot and spot to a guy before going to see if they had any dairy free…read more options. They said they are completely vegan. They told her the entire menu is vegan. I go in the shop to order and we both ask again if it's dairy free she said yes. I ordered the mango pineapple with the "gelato". My friend also ordered a flavor with gelato. Thankfully she tried hers first and though it tasted like dairy ice cream. She went back in to ask and the same person told her yes it has dairy. I had to bring mine back in to get it without it. I have a severe dairy allergy so glad I didn't try it first. They charge a dollar extra for the gelato. My friend was able to eat hers with the gelato and said it tasted like regular ice cream as she does not have an allergy. It didn't look like gelato to me. Overall customer service is 0 out of 5 as apparently they don't know their own menu and I could've gotten sick. Overall flavor is bad. The sorbet itself was very bland and watery. Italian ice store bought is better. I wouldn't go back. If you like the blend skip this spot and go to Jeremiah's which my friend agreed with. If you want any ice cream go elsewhere too.
