The Olde Town Jerky is located inside the St George's Row and is definitely the stand out shop here. The guy inside would explain the hundreds different flavors of Jerky to each customer and offer Jerky samples. Been here several times over the years and have purchased Jerky to chew while walking around St George Street. The guy offers samples so ask him about the exotic meats. It's not a discount store since in a tourist rich environment. read more

This shop was right below our inn room we staying in. The lady working there, her name was "Rebecca" also. She let us sample some of the spicy brisket jerky. We wanted the spicy brisket, but they were out, so we bought the brisket beef jerky. It is delicious! We also bought some Jalapeño slim Jim sticks. Those we do not care much about. Cool little jerky shop that has some unique offerings. Alligator, rabbit, Buffalo, kangaroo, elk, and ostrich are just some of the unique offerings. The owner even provides samples of items so if you're daring, try you some ostrich! There's even swordfish, shark, salmon, and trout for you water based enthusiasts. The store is small and quaint and they even offer options to order jerky to be shipped to site. I ended up going conservative and got some teriyaki jerky. While visiting the shops in St Augustine, we ran across this little jerky hut. I love beef jerky (even make my own from time to time) so I had to stop in. The shop is small like the rest of the shops in the area, but well laid out. All of the jerky was towards the wall, leaving plenty of space to see the merchandise and walk around. We sampled a few of the varieties. One of the drawbacks is the samples were limited to beef. I would have liked to sample some elk or gator or any of the others, but understood you can only get so much. I ended up settling on the sweet and spicy brisket and the bourbon chipotle. Both were excellent. The brisket was from the fattier pieces of brisket and very tender. It had a good spice to it without being overwhelming. The chipotle bourbon was also excellent because you could actually taste the bourbon. The chipotle adds spice, but again, not overwhelming. While the jerky prices were high (11.99 and 13.99 for a 3.5/4oz bag, it is inline with other high end jerky huts, but still more expensive (and better quality) than the crap you find at the grocery store. Recommend you stopping in and taking a look if you are in the area. read more

It's a jerky store in a high rent district so don't expect any cheap jerky here you can expect to find some very exotic jerky though. They usually are giving away samples so you can try before you buy. This might be a good place to buy a gift for the wild game aficionado in the family. They also stock a few different bottles of hot sauce, so if your on a mission for dried meat or liquid heat this place may be of interest to you it's got a certain camouflage vibe about it. read more

Stumbled in here while exploring the main strip. I'm a big hot sauce fan and my husband is a big Biltong (African Beef Jerky) fan so I wanted to see what they had. They also have some other goodies like nuts and stuff as well. There are literally so many different kinds of Jerky, I couldn't even recall what was there if I tried. From rabbit to python to shark and back to venison and other exotic meats. The woman behind the counter was the owner and she was so friendly! We ended up talking to her for quite some time and getting more hot sauce than we needed! Overall, this is a must when you're in town! I don't even eat meat but I thought the shop was super cool. There was even a hot sauce with glitter in it that changed from clear to red when you shake it! read more

This review is not of the product, but the store and the service. Not sure if he was the owner or just a worker -- rude and inappropriate as any store personnel I have ever seen. Drove a bi-racial couple off by starting out the conversation telling them how he wasn't racist and then proceeded to make race based comments... they walked out and he flipped them off - then tried to tell me it was because they were from New York.... as am I, but I guess I conformed to his 'other' criteria about New Yorker's... . Then he went on and on with me about his political views... did an ok job talking about his product but for every sentence about his product he had to throw in some slur or dig at other cultures... he could be giving away gold and I wouldn't step foot in the door again. Reading other reviews however it sounds like the jerky is good though. read more

Throughout our visit in old town, we walked by two of these Beef Jerky shops and this particular location seemed a little bigger than the rest of them so we stopped in to see what they had. The selection of jerky was amazing. They had jerky from animals I didn't even know you could make jerky from. Camel, Snakes, Kangaroo, Swordfish -just to name a few. The employee behind the counter was very helpful and let us try any flavor that we wanted to. Obviously, the premier items with the exotic animals weren't available to try, but most of the other flavors were. All of the bags throughout the store were well labeled regarding flavor, size and price, along with some of the specials they were offering. They offer a three-bag deal for $30 which is what we went with as it saves you a few dollars. We had planned on buying multiple flavors, so it worked out. All of the flavors we bought were extremely tasty and I'm glad that we were able to sample them before trying them. read more

Decent jerky shop. They do give free samples but only of the basic flavors. They don't let you sample the more "exotic" flavors (shark, snapping turtle, python, kangaroo, etc.) because "it is to expensive and they don't sell enough to give samples". This doesn't make much sense because most people can't justify spending $19.99 on a 4oz bag of jerky without knowing if they will like it. Maybe if they sampled the "exotic" ones then they would sell more. I did sample and purchase the bourbon chipotle beef jerky. Very delicious! read more

All sorts of jerky samples of all sorts of animals. I have stumbled into a dream. There were all types of animals that had been seasoned, smoked, and packaged for consumption. The alligator was really cool for texture. Ghost pepper beef Jerky brought the heat and was very flavorfull, not foe the faint of heart. Ended up purchasing teriyaki elk to take home.
