I was looking for a good workout and have always been intrigued by boxing! I was nervous because I…read morehave never boxed or kickboxed before, but as soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted, and they showed me the ropes. It was a nice and small class and the instructor was super kind and encouraging (especially when I felt like I was simply going to fall over). She offered modifications for some of the challenging parts, and pushed me enough where I kept trying, but not too hard that I got stressed out. My plan for the month was to test out different gyms and classes and see which ones I prefer, but I really loved this class. It was a killer workout, I learned new stuff, and had a lot of fun! I plan to be back!

I'll start off by saying this class was lit. I signed up for kickboxing on a Thursday night. I…read moreforgot what the instructor's name was. But he does kickboxing Mondays and Thursdays. I was told "He is really good and has the best music". When I walked in the girls at the front counter were really helpful and got me ready quickly for the class to start. After my hands were wrapped and my gloves were on I was ready to go. As soon as we started I could tell this would be more than an ordinary workout. It was tough. It was a lot of kicking, punching, and other movements and it was almost nonstop. I made it through tho and felt really great afterwards. It was for sure, the hardest workout I have done in some time. The instructor was super friendly and came around and helped correct a couple things with people. He told people about a good job and gave fist bumps even when they were struggling. His music playlist was also on point. It helped to set the tone of the entire workout. I will be coming back on the regular now. I loved how intense it was and the satisfaction of completing a hard workout. I would advise that you don't workout your legs or arms before or even a day or two before this class, if you are new.

I attended my first class here last night and I still have mixed feelings about it…read more.. I signed up online for a 3 class pass for $9.99. You have to call and schedule your class with them, there's no online portal or app which I find very inconvenient. They immediately add you on Facebook and put you in their accountability group. Which may work for some people, but I'll probably leave it, I don't want my newsfeed full of people asking for others to motivate them to come to class. No one greeted me when I walked in, so I found the locker room myself and stored my things. The first class they ask you to show up half an hour early so you can fill out paperwork. You also get a personal trainer the first class, they limit new members to two per class. The trainer spends the class showing you how to perform the punches and kicks which is super helpful, but you don't get the same workout the rest of the class does. I also don't like that this class is barefoot... they don't clean the floors in between classes so it seems kind of gross, I'll probably wear socks next time. After the class ended they immediately asked me to buy a membership. I refused as I haven't actually experienced a full class yet and I would like to use my two remaining class passes first. From what I did see of their membership packages, they're super expensive, their best value package equaling out to $41 a week.... I'll go back for at least my next class, but if they push the membership I'm probably done. The locker room seems really nice and all of the members seem to know each other. Everyone was laughing and joking before and after class, so they definitely seem to have a strong sense of community.

This place is amazing. I have always wanted to try kickboxing but have been really nervous because…read moreI am beyond uncoordinated. I signed up for the challenge online due to the corporate marketing claiming it's "free" and met with Amanda for my consultation. RIGHT OUT THE GATE she explained what the challenge is AND that there is a $500 deposit down for it. Was I bummed it wasn't free? SURE, but nothing good is. And if you meet the goal you get your money back, and if you don't the money goes towards a membership. I NEVER felt pushed into a sale, AND I have brought a friend to try a class with me and they were AMAZING at making her feel welcomed and not obligated to sign up. Again, NO PUSHINESS at all. As a VERY well trained saleswoman I eat pushy sales people for breakfast, but didn't have to here (which is good, cause im sure that would be approved in my meal plan). I am on the last week of my fitness challenge and I did NOT lose 25 pounds, which was my goal. BUT, a big part of that is the meal plan was actually MORE food than I was used to eating and my dumb self didn't think to bring this struggle to my nutrition coach until just recently lol MY BAD, she was able to alter the plan to suit me MUCH better after I let her know I was struggling. I have done intensive bootcamps, cardio training, EVERYTHING and nothing compares to this workout. I have also seen a few reviews about people not knowing what to do, YA JUST GOTTA ASK. Every class a trainer has helped me with my footwork and form, without promt, and if you ask they take the time to help you happily. This place ISN'T cheap, but I'm okay with it, I'm willing to invest QUALITY into my health. Looking forward to starting the membership and continuing to get strong. I have never felt so strong in my life and im loving it. Thank you ILKB! PS. You are allowed to wear socks, I DO, and they clean the mat after EVERY CLASS .

As we walked in, I started to get a little anxious. I saw the big heavy bags, gloves, and medicine balls...what was I getting into?! But Eric gave us a warm welcome. He explained the workout and get us going right away. 9Rounds is a boxing, kicking boxing, and circuit workout. Each stations is marked 1-9 and has a white board with an exercise listed. There's one timer for everyone that sounds at 2:30 and then at 3 minutes. And there's always a coach there, offering support. You workout individually, one person per circuit. One thing I loved: no set class time. Pick any time they're open and come on it. Now who can't make that work?! We made an appointment since it was our first time. But as a member, you can go in any time. You just hop in at the beginning of the next round and off you go. Since it was our first time, Eric spent some time showing us proper form. After two rounds, we put on gloves and got to hit the heavy bags. At 2:30 the timer sounds and you go all out. Then at 3 minutes Eric called out an exercise for everyone like high knees, jumping jacks or plank. We did that 30 seconds then moved on to the next circuit. Three minutes felt like eternity for some circuits. But I pushed myself and kept going. At the end, I had some a sense of accomplishment. Not only did I learn something new, but I got a great workout too. If you're looking for a challenging workout, personal coaching, and even nutritional guidance then this is your answer. Your first class is free! So there's no excuse not to go check it out.
