This is our local hardware store. I love to support the locals. Since we moved here, I have visited here many times to pick up hardware or other items, which they carry. My PVC irrigation pipe started to leak at the joints, therefore, I picked up some items to repair my leaky irrigation PVC pipe. This store sells much more than just hardware. For example this time I also purchased a 24 x 24 x 4 inch Honeywell air filter for my home's HVAC system. I also purchased a yellow LED outside flood light bulb. The staff here are all locals and are very knowledgeable regarding repairs and where items are located within the store. Checkout here is usually fast because they usually have two open checkout registers. I will continue to return here rather than Lowes or Home Depot, which are further away from my home. read more

Great store but you can tell they've got a monopoly because some of the people are outright nasty. More than one guy at the counter visibly didn't want to help me and one guy told me to ask somebody I knew to figure out my problem. Must be nice to be the only game in town. read more

The employees at this place are great. I came in at the eleventh hour and they were still so friendly and helpful. I've been in this store a few times now and I never know where to find what I'm looking for, but there's always someone who notices me wandering around and assists me. I don't shop at hardware stores enough to know how the price or selections are, but both seem pretty good. It's obviously not as huge as one of those chain big brands with the hundred foot ceilings, but they seem to have just about anything you'd need for a home project or small to medium repair. AWESOME HARDWARE STORE! I've been shopping at G&E Hardware for over 40 years. My experience has always been positive ~ I'm a lady who finds hardware stores and enjoys fixing things myself if I can and likes knowing how things need to be done if I can't. The folks who work there have always been patient with me and never made me feel stupid for asking questions. This is a family owned and run business. During the summer it's so busy that they have three registers going at the front. Sometimes I've had to wait a few minutes to be helped but at a Home Depot (another business I respect) it might take 5 or 10 minutes just to find an associate in an aisle, with more waiting after that. At G&E, I wait my turn in one of the register lines, ask for help, and the register calls for someone to help me, perhaps in a certain aisle that they direct me to go. I truly appreciate the personal attention given me by the family at G&E Hardware. read more

A very nice and helpful hardware store. I remember once I was looking for a replacement but for my kids bike. They didn't have it but one of the clerks gave me a nut from a discarded bike they had put back. They expanded the store now and increased the inventory. read more

This store is convenient to Bethany Beach and Ocean View area without spending extra time and gas to get to other hardware stores. II is well stocked with garden, fishing, lumber, and household hardware needs. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The enlarged store is well organized and bright. Went to the newest location. Very clean and much better than the old location. We looked at their guns and the guy who works that dept. was terrible. He has zero customer service skills, does not like people, and apparently hates his job. After two minutes with him, we left the store. Such a shame they have someone like that in place. read more

They put an item up for auction that they didn't have in inventory. I was notified that it shipped and 6 days later I was refunded with no explanation. After reaching out to the seller, I was simply told it was an "inventory mishap". Absolutely awful business practices read more

Why do they have to be so rude? If you aren't a "local" ie born and bred in Delaware they treat you poorly. Though mostly they ignore you. Give me a big hardware store that has everything including people to help any day. read more

I went in to the Hardware Store parking lot area where they keep the free wood pallets - I moved the top 2 smaller pallets so that I could access the larger ones underneath - An employee (Joe) started yelling and screaming obscenities from approx 50 ft away that I am making a mess by putting the 2 small pallets on the side. I tried to ignore his full blown melt-down for the first 20 seconds or so, and then asked him if they weren't free anymore. He confirmed that they were still indeed free, but was screaming that I was making a mess by placing the 2 small pallets on the side. When I was done, I placed the pallets back on top and left. It's terrible that they treat their customers like that (I am a 30+ year customer) read more

I've been going to G & E Hardware since I became a homeowner here over thirty years ago. Well stocked, helpful, and good hours. For example, I bought a new grill yesterday which was a Sunday. It was delivered today, Monday, set up and demonstrated. They even took the old one away. read more

This is the local hardware store you remember from "back in the day." The staff know their stock, and are VERY helpful. Even if you don't know the name of the thingamajig you want, if you tell them what you need it for they will take you right to it. Attempted to buy a grill...actually I did and made arrangements to pick up later that day, when I returned I was told I could not have the grill because it was mis-marked. They attempted to offer me a lesser grill for more money. Claimed the manufacturer sets the price, wrong check around. The woman handling the issue was extremely rude and should not be in a customer service position. They loose site of the customer as they are the only show in town. read more

They are incompetent gun dealers. THey faxed me an FFL to do a transfer with no ID on it. When I called, the had no idea who the transfer was for or what item they were buying. They couldn't have cared less. Ergo, their customer will lose out. So much for customer service. They are idiots. read more
