This is family owned since its inception in 1973. It has been servicing the local neighborhood and helping people repair whatever needs to be fixed over the past 40 years. The 30,000 square foot "Store" offers everything expected of a hardware store and more. This is like a hometown hardware store, with excellent customer service and satisfaction. The "Shore" friendly staff averages 20 years in tenure, their knowledge makes buying "Hard" ware - EASY! This was my first visit here with my local friend to purchase some hardware and screws for building a vinyl fence around his newly installed swimming pool. The store is located on the border of Maryland and Delaware. The rear part of the store is located in Maryland. The cash register is located on the Delaware front side of the store so customers are not charged with any Maryland sales tax. Delaware does not have a state sales tax. I highly recommend this store because of their customer service, availability of various hardware items and not having to pay any Maryland state sales tax. read more

I love this store for a variety of reasons. Old time feel with a great staff of very knowledgeable employees. If they don't have what you need, they'll tell you where to find it. What a great shop! This place is so much more than a hardware store, I never would have guessed. They have all kinds of novelty items, from decorative flags to Christmas ornaments. They have tons of unique sports team items too, great for last minute Christmas presents! The space inside is really deep, it looks small from the outside but the building is actually pretty long, and there is even an upstairs loft area (with a cute spiral staircase)! Definitely a great place to stop and browse around for a bit, especially if it is a rainy day. You are bound to find something you need (or never knew that you needed) at Fenwick Hardware! read more

This store was run with customer first service and support prior to the changes in management a year ago. Now it's a high priced poorly run local business that has become the last place I would go to unless I just needed to pick up a box of nails. The previous leadership was great, this new group needs to fire themselves and regroup. read more

There was so much in this store and it was just not organized in a way that we could understand. We were looking for a hammer, cutting board, exacto knife, screw driver and looking for any gardening rocks. For each of the items we asked the employees since we walked in 30 minutes before closing time. Each thing we asked, the employees looked at us strange and slowly answered our question. While we asked someone to help us find a cutting board, or something we could cut on, we just got blank stares. I'm not sure what to say other than it was a strange experience and even though I love supporting local, this store did not make it easy for me to find things, therefore I will most likely go somewhere else next time. This hardware store is an unexpected surprise in Fenwick! It's significantly larger inside than it looks from the road and they have a gigantic selection of items, including practical items (like tarps and tools) to the more decorative items (tons of sports decore). The staff has always been friendly when I've visited (in that "snarky, full of character kind of way"). If you need anything, stop in and ask and even if they don't have it, they'll let you know where else to go to get it! read more

I purchased a video splitter. When I brought it home, it would not work. I brought it back to them with my receipt, two days later. It was in its original packaging. They refused to honor the return. They pick and choose which items that they will take back. Do yourself a favor, go to Ace Hardware in OC or Selbyville. They will treat you better and they have better prices. read more

The go-to place at the beach for what you need to repair that sea-air impacted item in your home (inside and out) or garden or boat or trailer; they have a bit of everything and you don't have to fight the traffic to get to the lowes or home depot. They cater to the weekend tinker and it is always busy and open for 5 hours on Sunday too. On the southern side of 54 about 3/4 mile from coastal highway. read more

The proud ladies who run the store run a tight ship. Every shelf and rack are neatly organized and stocked without any clutter. I have come here often for various items needed to maintain or repair our condo unit. They are somewhat pricey , however, the inventory is vast . Much more convenient to my location than any of the big box hardware stores . I don't know how they fit all of those items in this small store.
