A delightful independent grocery. It is large and clean and offers everything we need for a week at the beach.

Overpriced, the bread from the bakery was stale and tasteless. Produce was half way decent but that's it. It's ok if you need to pick up something quick and can't go to giant. I won't go back. Oh and the hardware store inside of Hockers, the man waiting on me didn't know anymore about light bulbs than I do. Go figure! read more

It's a good store with local produce. In fact, their produce is one of the reasons I keep coming back...much better than Giant and for those who shop at Target or Walmart for convenience, this is definitely a step up. I'm not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from. It's a small family owned store. It's in an older building. The corn is the best ever in season. They bring it in every day. You can see them. Great little butcher area with the best chicken ever. And cold cuts are great. Roasted turkey is the real thing. And yes it'll go bad if you don't eat it in a couple days. Probably not a lot of preservatives. Fresh bread and cakes and cookies too. Might not have everything you need. Small store. But also has the hardware section in case you need something there. I moved here from the Philly area so I'm familiar with a large variety of chain stores. I'll go to Giant for a huge shopping list. But for meats and bread and corn or cold cuts, this is the place. read more

I wanted to pick up some potting soil but didn't want to trek to the Millsboro Lowes. I don't know what all the negative reviews are about. I went early in the morning on a Saturday. I picked up two bags decided to self-checkout. The cashier saw me struggling to find the barcode. She came over and used her scanner wand to ring me up on the admin computer. Don't even think about going here - the produce is yuck - the fresh corn was horrible and glad you could husk it before buying - ended up getting a few things but will never return - employees were awful bad attitudes - my bag of charcoal ended up in the previous persons order and when i said something the bagger said well he paid for it instead of running after that poor guy or better still offer to go get me a new bag - no I had to do that - it's crazy old rundown grocery with a hardware store included - should be torn down - I'm disappointed wanted to shop local but there is nothing super at this center read more

A true bit of silliness. I love this grocery/deli, and their hot bar. This morning, I asked for 6 wings from the hot bar. The cashier was unable to figure what to do (they price them by 5 or 10) so she called the food manager. That person said no either 5 or 10. I said that needed 6. She said "5 or 10". They could (or would) not figure out the price of one wing (hello, divide the cost of 5 to get the cost per wing, and add it).They actually let me walk out rather than sell to me. Asked for a large ice cream and it literally fell , this isn't a review but it's a suggestion to use bigger cups.

We have owned a property here since 1996. Hockers is inconsistent and not have quality control. We had received a few greasy packs of lunch meat, ​but the meat (London Broil) we purchased for our July 4th dinners was the WORST CUT OF BEEF, we have ever had. The meat was not sirloin or London broil, and the minute we flipped it over, we were concerned. We marinated it for over 8 hours, and the meat was so tough it was not able to be consumed. Do yourself a favor and drive the few extra miles to the Giant. Even Weis would be better. So disappointed and done with them. Love family-owned businesses but not them. Either their quality control is nothing, and they depend on seasonal people who just leave and don't spread word of mouth or who hires the worst butchers there are. Either way, we won't go back, and we live on the Ocean View peninsula read more

Ok. So there are plenty of things I can say here. Hockers grocery in Clarksville has gas rewards every $100 you spend you get 10 cents off per gallon of gas. Sale prices are great deals. Regular prices are a little high but worth the convince. At the gas station the greatest ice cream and milkshakes you could ever ask for. Fried chicken is excellent. And good home cooking. read more

I like the butcher's meats in this store and the deli and the deli staff. Everyone else in the store seems miserable. If you can get past the lack of personality of their employees and their "poor me" attitudes, than this is the store for you. read more
