I was in a hurry afterward, so I paid, left a generous tip, and drove away. As soon as I got in the car, I noticed dust and grime still all over the dashboard, door panels, and interior trim. When I got home, I ended up redoing the entire inside myself because so much had been missed. This was the second chance I've given them, and unfortunately, the results were just as disappointing. Lesson learned. If you want the job done right, you'll probably have to stand there and constantly check what they're missing. I won't be using their detailing service again.

I should have stopped him but I assumed a car wash would know better. My polishing attempt didn't work well so I'll be taking it to a detail shop soon and probably spending $200 to fix a $15 car wash. They were quick to give me an estimate and let me know how long the job would take. I decided to stick around for a few hours until they were finished which worked out very well because the seating was indoors/ air-conditioned, they served amazing food, and the customer service was excellent. They also have a coffee cart and a bar. Everyone there was extremely personable and professional. Enrique, Ricardo, and Victor were so kind and attentive. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable throughout my entire visit. I also had never gotten my car detailed before and wanted to make sure I was getting a good value. The price was very reasonable compared to the many other options I pondered and they were so diligent and detail-oriented. It was worth every penny. Not sure why they all seem to be going the way of the Dodo bird (thanks Gramps), but for those of you that enjoy a clean cement stall, with brushes and wands that work and water pressure that is good, then I've got the spot for you. Relatively hidden, yet not too far from some main roads, rests the green face of Sparkle. Five big clean stalls, with working gear, the usual washing choices (soapy brush, anyone?) and lots of water pressure make washing a snap. Their parking lot is a little tight, not sure how something really big would get thru, but there are some nice drying spots behind the wash stalls for the rest of us. The overall space is clean and uncluttered and the neighbourhood offers lots of street parking. READER: (thinking) It seems like he really likes the place, I wonder why he only gave them four stars. I'll tell you why, they don't accept quarters. nope, just your plastic credit cards or paper money, no coins. no tokens even. Or as my Grandpa says, "This is the future, if quaint little washing stalls like these make it to the future."

This happened on two separate occasions, and it made me feel disrespected and unwelcome as a customer. The first incident happened about three weeks before March 5, 2026, while I was washing and vacuuming my car. A younger employee/manager came up to me in a very aggressive and cocky way about my music. My radio was not extremely loud, but instead of speaking to me respectfully, he came over with an attitude and even reached into my car and touched my radio knob. I felt that was completely inappropriate. Nobody should be touching a customer's car or belongings without permission. After that, he kept circling around me and staring at me while I was trying to finish cleaning my car. It felt like he was trying to intimidate me. I stayed respectful and told him there are bigger things to worry about than music at a car wash, especially when the car wash is open to the public. The second incident happened on March 5, 2026, around 8:38 PM, when I came back to ask about their monthly wash prices. Before I could even wash my car or continue as a customer, the same employee told me I was banned from being there. He said it with a cocky attitude while smiling and laughing, which made the situation feel even more disrespectful. When I asked why, he claimed I cursed at him, which I did not. I never cursed at him. As I was leaving that same night, around 8:38 PM, he put his middle finger up at me, which was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I also want to say that during the first interaction, I heard him mumble something that sounded like "you dark people." I do not know exactly what he meant, but it made me feel like there may have been a racial issue involved. Being new to the Vancouver area, that made the experience feel even worse. A business that is open to the public should treat every customer with respect. This employee appeared younger, but he did not act mature enough to be running or representing a business. The way he acted was disrespectful, immature, and bad for the business. I'm sharing this because nobody should have to go through that while simply trying to wash their car or ask about monthly prices. Customers deserve respect, fairness, and professionalism.

The only other choices are what the attendant said was "soap & water" for $10 or "the works" (I'm assuming wax or whatever) for $20. I decided to try soap & water, as I'm never going to pay $20 for a car wash. It was fine. The vacuums seemed to have a strong suction, unlike some weaker ones at other car wash places. They didn't give me a little wipe for my dash. But yay I for an air freshener-with their name on it of course. I haven't opened it yet so I don't know how it smells. All in all, my car looks cleaner on the outside. But did they earn my loyalty? Meh.
