My son was hit by an uninsured driver in Austin while driving his .Miata MX-5, hit on the right side and forced into the center median, scraping the left side. Pretty messed up. He asked me where to take it and I said bring it to Arlington and G&M. Why? Because Don cares about your car. He will fight the insurance company to get the car back to it's pre-crash condition with quality parts. It wasn't drivable so it came up on a transport. It was a mess. For this car, he had every wheel reconditioned from the scrapes. He fixed all the dents, punctures and broken plastic. Today, we got the car back and it is BEAUTIFUL! Just incredible. This is more of a review of Mr. Don, the owner, than the shop itself - because he's an example of a business owner who does it right. Not just cordial and friendly, but will try to problem solve and is patient with us as we tried to repair a side door hinge of our van. It turns out that the wrong type of aftermarket weatherstripping can create force necessary to shift the angle of the hinge, so they did the best they could to diagnose the problem and readjust it given the thickness of the strip. After the initial adjustment, Don's been very helpful with our return visits to reset the hinge after new weatherstripping was installed that helped the door to close easier. When he says he will call you back, he does! Will definitely be a repeat customer, if/when we have any more bodyshop related repairs. read more

Listen, I never write reviews.. but as everyone has said before me, Don is one of a kind. I haven't even gotten my car repaired but just off of my first interaction, this place is worthy of 5 stars. I got into an accident last night and have been looking at repair centers that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. When I told Don I was paying out of pocket, he took that into consideration and gave me an honest price without trying to haggle me for more. As someone that knows nothing about cars, he explained everything in terms that I could understand. Also... he said he could have the car done in a week!!! Don was polite and professional. The work done on my car was completed in good time and was excellent quality. This was my first visit so I was concerned about the workmanship; i am very happy and would return again if I ever need more body work. I was also happy to hear two other customers tell me as i was waiting to pick up my car that they were 'return customers' because of the excellent work they had received before on other occasions. I have a Scion FRS and the wind had caught my door and put a dent in it hitting a metal pole. Don explained the ins and outs of the insurance process as far as getting repairs done and reimbursement and was upfront about everything. Repairs were done in timely manner and were as expected. He was easily reached and always willing to offer advice. Only caveat being that my appointment had to be made about 2-3 weeks in advance for the actual repairs as the shop was so busy. Not necessarily a fault of the shop itself, just a minor inconvenience. I still wouldn't have gone elsewhere to get repairs done after reading up on this place previously. read more

I have had 3 incidents where i've gone to G & M Collision center and I have never received anything but perfect service. I definitely feel like the owner, Mr. Don, has my best interest in mind. I am only 18, and have been to him since i was 16, and my parents have gone to him on multiple occasions. The owner is friendly, helpful, timely, and most importantly the work he does is ALWAYS PERFECT. I am very nit picky about my car and have never been let down here. Being younger, people in this industry could try to run the price up, but dealing with G & M Collision center i never felt like he was trying to take advantage. These guys are really questionable. I went in for an estimate and they tried to get me to make a report to my insurance even though I kept telling them I didn't have collision and my repair wasn't covered. Eventually they just refused to give me a quote period and thus I went on my way. read more

My repair time took a little longer than he had originally expected, but the area had experienced several hail storms and his shop was very busy.....so this is not a negative by any means. What a great everything! The owner was super nice and helpful. He got the car back to me 1 day quicker than promised (3 days total), and it was cleaned inside and out. Vacuumed and washed. It looked like new. And they came in lower than originally estimated. There was even a guy there that was paying for his vehicle and didn't have correct change and instead of the owner keeping the difference he shortchanged himself so the customer wouldn't over pay. Best Experience ever. I had a small fender bender with a pole, my husband recently passed away and I've never had to take care of the car. I went in there crying and explained to Don I couldn't claim this on my insurance. He said no problem, we have lots of options for you let's talk about them. He sat down with me and went over all my options, how they were different and what they cost. He made sure I understood everything, he was very kind. He printed me out a quote and asked if I wanted to get another and I said no. You just don't get the kind of service and kindness from many places like I did from Don. He even stayed late to help me. Took my car back in once the parts were ready they fixed it in a day. I asked if he would do me a favor and put my new plates on because I had never done it and they did, he also said don't ever worry about your plates.
