This place was hilarious. Went to ask for a quote to make 2 cuts on my bumper to put in an exhaust (custom right). Rotary saw 5 mins at best. Quote 1500$. With a straight face. For reference, a brand new valence to accommodate what i wanted to do at the Ford dealership, with installation and warranty, 600 and change. Now i wasnt looking for a 50$ job, i would have paid as much as 200 because i wanted it done like that day and to patron local businesses. Sucked it up went to the base in fort worth and used the base hobby shop lift and their saw the next day. 10$ to rent it out for the hour and installed my exhaust. I came to SLP for help with fully stripping and repainting my lancer evo x. I had been parking outside for a decade and the texas sun had slowly worn down and deteriorated not only the clear coat, but began to wear down the red paint leaving metal in places. Along with a full repaint, there were a number of small to medium maintenance things that needed doing, re surfacing the interior ceiling with new cloth, fixing some minor body issues, polishing and clearing up my head lamps. It was a lot of work, and took about a month - but when I got my car back on the other end I almost didn't recognize it. Had such an amazing experience bringing my car to SLP for hail damage, painting, rust repair and body work. After getting the run around from about 5 different shops in the area working with the owner was a breath of fresh air. Called the shop and spoke with the owner, Jovani. I was looking to get a helmet cleared over. This is a motorcycle helmet, it doesn't get more simple than, hey can you clear coat a motorcycle helmet. I say this, because other shops were making me jump through hoops to either stop in so they could see the helmet or send them NUMEROUS pics of the helmet. Jovani didn't do that. When I spoke with Jovani, he was able to give me a quote off the bat. I took the helmet in and he confirmed the quote was accurate. Now, he wasn't able to spray the helmet, because the stickers I had applied, and the reason I wanted the clear applied was to keep the stickers from lifting, needed to be sanded and the colors would have faded off and/or blurred. I don't have a lot of time, so I really appreciated the efficiency and respect of my time this shop presented. read more

I am beyond grateful that I found Danielle and the guys at SLP Customs. They kept in constant communication, removed all cosmetic services, let me buy parts on my own to save money, and even miraculously found solutions to other issues that other shops told me would cost hundreds of dollars. So the work I got done was done EXTREMELY WELL, they made the headlights look BRAND NEW! The weather seal in the trunk allowing a leak into the car also done with precision... but 2 delays and more money added to the initial quote forced me to pick it up with out the splash guard work done... the "mistake" as the owner put it is more a lack of experience... I called 3 body shops who said when you order the splash guard it even says it's two parts but EVERYONE knows there are two major components to the splash guard that is ALWAYS broken on this model car (2014 Mustang basically all low lying cars) because when you pull up to a curb the front end goes over the curb and catches and tears them up! It's so common all three places were able to tell me what I needed and a quote with even seeing the car! That's not a mistake that's lack of experience! So I paid $325 for a weatherstrip & pristine headlamp covers well worth the money much more affordable than replacing the entire headlamp or even replacing the weatherstrip on the trunk. So the lesson I learned is have the "more experienced" shops give you a quote so when you take it to them their lack of experience doesn't hinder what could have been a very good experience... that's why only 3 stars... much better rates and no mark up on parts makes it worth the extra effort as well as the quality of the work I did have done... not a bad review, just a be aware is all, learn from my mistake. read more

They let me know ahead of time that blending is recommended so that way the color matches more evenly but I had said it was ok, just to get it as close as possible. I found this place on yelp and saw it had good reviews. I had my car towed there sight unseen and trusted they would fix what happened to the car. They are within a boatload of other collision repair places. The thing I liked about them was I sent pictures and they gave an estimate. I knew it would be more because they did not see everything and did not have the car in hand. And it was. It was several thousand more. But it gave me an idea. The administrative, young lady at the desk stayed in contact in the beginning to ensure monies were received and then no more contact from anyone on the status or anything. I had to drop in to see the car to know what was going on. Come to find out there was more damage from hail done while in their possession because they left it outside and I received no call about it. I found out because again, I dropped in. They honored and fixed that too, but the whole project took about a month and a half. I was in no rush, but a call or two to let me know the status and about the additional damage done would have been respectable and nice. Besides that ,the car turned out really well. It is a special color car and they matched it to a tee. You can tell a bit that the car was in a wreck because the hood is not lined up well on one side, but I am satisfied with the work done. read more
