I asked if he could install some new taillights that I had purchased and had the dealership quote me a ridiculous price. Lone Star repaired my damaged, installed my new taillights, and installed and wired a set of blackout reflector lights for less than what I was quoted for the taillights. The work was perfect! Along with a full repaint, there were a number of small to medium maintenance things that needed doing, re surfacing the interior ceiling with new cloth, fixing some minor body issues, polishing and clearing up my head lamps. It was a lot of work, and took about a month - but when I got my car back on the other end I almost didn't recognize it. When I bought this 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS at a dealership in 2009, the bumper had tons of scratches on it. Now they're completely gone, my car looks MUCH better than it had back when I bought it, and I hadn't even asked for anything to be done to the bumper since it hadn't been damaged by Midas and wouldn't keep me from passing State Inspection! All of the work he did on my car cost m-u-c-h less than any of the 3 auto body shops' estimates I had collected. Jerry really cares about older cars and is a nothing short of a real metal artist/metal whisperer. He's been working on cars since middle school back when auto body shop was an elective in public schools. He was restoring a 90-year old car when I first visited his shop and he was creating the parts himself as they're no longer available through suppliers. One could say that Jerry might have what could be called as an obsession with perfection and a very keen eye for detail, which are highly sought after traits in this business, defintely. Jerry also ordered new pin stripes for my car and will put them on for free when they come in at which time he'll also paint the exterior passenger rear door handle, which came in factory-black color, that Firestone put on my car after accidentally breaking the existing one while they were replacing my door actuator on the opposite side of my car from where damage caused by Midas occurred. He thoroughly explained the process on how to restore my paint back and gave me a quote lower than a connection I have at a dealership which surprised me and I said yes to the job. I got the fender installed but had trouble with installing the fender liner and aligning the bumper cover correctly. Since I already had the parts, I had hoped they could just finish the job I'd started. When I called, the manager told me they don't work with customer-supplied parts and definitely don't finish jobs a customer started. I am okay with having a policy explained to me as a reason to not accept my business, but his tone of voice and inflection were rude and condescending. Because of his attitude, I will never call G&M again, even if I wanted a shop to perform a repair.
