I cannot write a review that would accurately reflect my happiness, satisfaction and peace of mind that I got after I let these guys build me a new exhaust system on my 2001 Mustang! (DON'T GO TO MUFFLER KING...THEY SUCK!!) MK had my exhaust pipes pointed in weird directions, did unnecessary welds, and did a generally poor job Here at G&S the price quoted was the price I paid. Had my cars check engine light diagnostics done at another shop that unfortunately diagnosed a failed catalytic converter and couldn't help me. My husband and I began calling auto body shops specific to muffler issues. Stacey quoted me a overly fair price and actually ordered my new catalytic converter over the phone so I could drop off my car the next day AND GET IT BACK SAME DAY! When I arrived he was immediate to know who I was and promised to have my car done that day. Dropped off at 12 picked back up my car by 4! I recently purchased four brand new tires (Pirelli P6 @ $95 per) at Discount Tires in Austell, and wanted to get a new computerized wheel alignment right after the tires were installed. They recommended G&S Brake & Muffler in Marietta to me. What a MISTAKE. Bottom line - after 3,000 miles, both of my back tires were completely worn out from a poor rear alignment. Although I can't prove it, I believe this misalignment also ruined one of my rear wheel bearings (which cost me $608 to fix), which for some reason failed 1,500 miles after the alignment (car then had 30,000 miles). My friends at G&S also failed to tighten the jam nuts on both front steering rods. When they were inspected they were actually so loose you could turn them by hand. Shortly after the G&S alignment, the car started handling poorly. At 2,800 miles on my new tires, the car was dangerous to drive. I'm now out of pocket for two new rear replacement tires and a wheel bearing. I took this information to Stuart, the owner of all three G&S Brake & Mufflers, and he agreed to reimburse me for the cost of the alignment, but nothing else. Hard to believe. Consider yourself warned. read more

This place is a hidden gem! The lot seems outdated but they made a believer out of me when I went to get a dual exhaust quote for my 2011 F150. I got a better deal than 3 other shops, they took in my truck, a few hours later (I was expecting to pickup next day) they said it was done. Rickey, my sales guy, was very straight forward, gave me my options, and the work looks very clean, even the welding. No sales gimmicks, just straight-talk business. I am an 8+ year sales professional and this place just made me feel at home, minus the lack of vegetation in their lot! Eeks, I'm a little bit afraid after reading Mark R's review... I just had an alignment done at G&S as opposed to firestone because it was $50 vs $70 (as low as they would go in terms of price matching G&S) and because they were referred by Discount Tire. They were a busy shop. I found Stuart to be knowledgeable in listening to him talk to the other customers... I will definitely be very attentive to the handling and at first sign of drifting or shakiness, I will consider taking my car in for inspection. Will update if anything goes wrong. I ordered a Borla catback exhaust from Amazon for my VW GTI '10 and was going to attempt a self install after much research. Only problem was I was working with 2 car jacks and one of them gave out. Car fell off and thank goodness I wasn't under at that moment. I decided to use G&S as they were recommended to me by Butler tires down the road. Made an appt. for 8am. They took my car in and were done in about 40 min. Took off the stock exhaust and put on the Borla catback. I was very pleased with the install. It looked perfect. I was a tad taken back that my stock exhaust got chopped off in one section since I was planning to reinstall it when selling the car but the guys at G&S made me feel at ease and assured me they would be able to pop the stock exhaust back on and weld the cut that had to take place. I will definitely use these guys for any of my muffler needs. read more

I came here to get my flex pipe repaired. I called the place up and told them exactly what was wrong with my car. They quoted me a price in 6 seconds. I came in the next day and dropped off my car. I paid the exact same price as quoted the day before. The guy sad it would take an hour to fix and it took a little less then an hour to fix. There's even windows so you can watch them work on your car. The owner informed me that I would be needing a new muffler at some point. But he figured it could be a year before it's time. I was impressed with the work they did and the fact that they didn't try to up sell at all. read more

I had bought a truck in TN, and drove to Marietta GA for business, the previous owner had installed a Flowmaster muffler and it dual exhaust that turned down behind the cab, it was just too loud for my family. G&S took my truck in immediately and changed out the muffler and extended the exhaust out past the rear tire. He did a superb job at a great price, I couldn't be more pleased. Happy wife, happy life! Honestly I would have given this shop 5 stars, but they told me they were going to install stainless steel tips on my car when when the job was all done they said "Oh wait we installed non-stainless steel tips".... great... They were cool about lowering the price, but it's not what I wanted. Good guys, good work, good shop, fast service and all, but they messed up on my car. I would probably go back, but next time I would double check what they are doing. read more

Driving from Chicago to Orlando, our muffler blew out. We stayed overnight in Marietta and called G&S first thing in a Saturday morning for help. G & S made came to the rescue and converted my factory system to temporarily get my car ready to drive. PLEASE don't be fooled but these ratings, if I could honestly give zero stars I WOULD. I went in a few days ago for three simple things: a wheel alignment, the connector to my headlight bulb replaced, and new headlight bulbs installed. As simple as these jobs may sound, everything literally went wrong which was my worst fear and now I'm in a predicament of having to spend more money than expected on my car. I'll start off with the wheel alignment first, the job was "done" and every since then my car has been WIGGLING/SHAKING when turning at high speeds! Such as on the express way, scary right?! Now I have to get that "re-done" elsewhere. Second, I needed the switch connector for my headlight replaced and THE MANAGER Stacy said he could do it. I provided the connector and he installed it, well apparently after he installed it he realized it was the WRONG CONNECTOR. Although I purchased the wrong connector, you would think AS A MECHANIC he would've checked before installing but due to negligence and just wanting to get the job done, he did not. Third, as far as installing my headlight bulbs as simple as the job may seem, it's a bit complicated due to the fact that my car is a Mazda so the headlight is designed in a complicated way. Well there is a metal prong that you're supposed to clip behind the bulb to hold it in place but you have to do it with your finger or maybe a special tool. Well STACY (the manager) apparently did something completely different and broke the prong! I could go on & on about how much of a disaster my experience was here but long story short, I have to get a new wheel alignment, new switch connector to replace the WRONG one he installed, and TWO NEW HEADLAMPS due to the fact that STACY misplaced the rubber covers that go over the bulbs to keep them from getting wet. And to prove my point even more of how much of a horrible job this shop did, when I called to talk to Stacy (the manager) about it.. He immediately went into defense mode and stated "WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? I'M NOT BUYING YOU NEW HEAD LAMPS IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE ASKING! YOU CAN JUST COME AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK!" In which that's exactly what I did because I would never trust a shop like this with my car again and NEITHER SHOULD YOU. Now I've found myself in a worse situation having to spend more money. Also by the way he recommended that I should take my car to a "Mazda shop" to get the headlamps fixed............Cause yes, that helps a lot I wish you would've stated that before being so eager to take my money. read more

My son just returned with my car and I am thrilled. I called the two nearest Nissan dealers about a problem with the water coming into the passenger side of the Versa from under the dash. The first dealer said I needed to call a body shop; the second dealer said it would be $122.00 just to look at it. I called G & S, they said they could look at it any time today, we took it in and the problem was a simple $25 dollar fix of cleaning out the evaporation drain. Thanks so much to the guys. As a female when I have to have something done to my car I go into the situation with my guard up because lets face it, there are a lot of auto shops that see my gender as nothing but dollar signs. I know that's a huge generalization but it is usually true 8 times out of the 10. That is not the case with this shop and these guys. I needed work done on the manifold of my car. They diagnosed my car and came to the same conclusion that the dealer did. They gave me a fair price compared to what the dealer was going to charge me.They had the work done on my car in about 3 hours so I was not without a car all day. They did a phenomenal job. My car sounds and runs great and the manifold problem had been causing me to fail the GA emissions test which after the repair I passed it and was finally able to fully register my car. Ladies if you need some exhaust work done on your car bring it to these guys. You won't regret it. read more

I got a flomaster exhaust system put on my truck at G&S muffler. About two months later, the hangers that keep the dual pipes supported out the rear of the truck broke on both sides. The hangers are welded to the pipes and keep them from moving side to side and support them so they do not fall to the ground. I called them about twenty minutes before they closed, on a Saturday afternoon, and explained the situation. I also told them that I work 12 hours a day 7 days a week but had gotten off early on this particular day and was on my way to there shop. I asked if I they would be able to fix the pipes for me real quick and if they would be open a few minutes late if it took that long. The guy said with a cavalier attitude, nope! I was pretty incredulous because the hangers should not have broken especially two months after I got them installed. They obviously did a piss poor job at welding it, and if they had good customer service, they would stay open a few minutes late if thats what it took to make it right for a customer and to keep his business. I am now at my house trying to fix my own exhaust pipes so they don't fall off because there is nothing to support them. Once they get your money and the job is done, don't expect anything else from them if you have a problem. read more

I was also referred By Discount tires and had work done to fix my front end problems; They so called replaced a CV axle called and spoke w/Wes who stated it doesn't show in their system what side, But now I need a CV axle in which is now bone dry and I could swear that is the side I reported. Because now I am being told my driver's side CV needs to be replaced. I got both control arms replaced and an alignment, but now my car shakes and jerks to the left or right occasionally. I also have a bad outer tie rod on the driver's side and was also told I could not get an alignment with that bad outer tie rod. Called G&S muffler and spoke w/Wes like I stated earlier and he told me to make an appointment to bring the car back in,but decided what was the point. All I keep thinking about is that he sees in their system where I had this work done BUT it does not show which side, I found that to be so suspect and decided not to even deal with them no longer...BAD BUSINESS!!! read more
