Poorly managed business. The quality of work does not reflect the amount that KAMS charges. They do not properly check their work for mistakes and leaves work undone. Also, For anyone seeking to tow their car there, KAMS puts an additional up charge for towed cars(not including the actual towing cost). Customer service needs additional training too. Took car back after they failed a clutch install. They said I needed a whole new transmission and swore I didn't know what I was talking about lmao even had the shop guy put his foot on the clutch and all he said was I needed a new transmission and wanted me to foot that bill. Just think it's funny a shop swears they can do an install and do it right yet they cannot do so and try and get me to foot the extra bill. They have also done a brake job on my mothers car and it came back with the squishiest brake pedal I have felt in my life. read more

Possibly the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. We brought our Equinox to Kams to have a rear main seal replacement and water pump replaced. I used to work for Chevrolet as a technician and now work on tractor trailers, neither the rear main or the water pump are small jobs, we knew this going into it. We got a quote from the dealer for $2400. We called Kams and was quoted $2050 to $2200. The car was dropped off on January 30th. We heard absolutely nothing until February 24th when I had to call them to see what was going on. Our service writer said "Sorry, your car had slipped through the cracks, we'll get it in next week." Again we heard nothing for several weeks, until March 13th when we received a call and voicemail stating the car is in the shop but will now need a thermostat and exhaust gaskets, which are reasonable - except our new quote was now over $2600 and that they didn't have parts ready so they wouldn't continue on it. I returned their call a couple hours later to see if we could revise the repairs and was told the technician was 3.5 hours into it already. We were told it would be finished by the end of that week. We received the call that it was completed on March 20th and "we didn't go too far over the quote". Final bill, $2610. $410 to $560 over the initial quote. Not thrilled, but whatever. We came to pick the car up on March 24th. When inspecting the car I found the coolant was low (after being charged $118 for a coolant flush, $26 for coolant, and $48 for a "coolant exchange service kit". I asked if I could get the coolant topped off, which was agreed. Our advisor and a technician came out with an old Peak coolant bottle and began pouring a clear liquid into the reservoir. Once topped off I asked if he just topped it off with water and our advisor replied "No, its universal coolant! Do you want to drink it?" After which I walked away. (Yes there is clear coolant on the market but when it is poured from an old bottle it looks quite suspiciously like tap water.) Very unprofessional all around. We were recommended Kams as an alternative to the dealer and the entire ordeal from start to finish was a giant disappointment and large source of frustration for us. We were left for 2 months without a vehicle with minimal contact from our advisor, only to be told "Hey it's going to be more money" and "hey it's finished". Lesson learned, I'll just do my own work from now on since it will be cheaper AND faster. Otherwise, just let the dealer do it since the whole point was to save money on dealer cost. I'm not even going to touch on how high they mark up their parts. We cannot dissuade from Kams enough. The front desk was very nice to us, though! read more

Dropped it off that afternoon, received a call from at the end of the day, hub bearing was going out, gave me a price that was good to me. Picked up the truck by 1PM next all fixed. $198 to diagnose a problem in our sons vehicle,not fix anything! My son being young and not understanding this he agreed , then said it was $800 to fix it! Took it some where else it was $300 and did not charge for a diagnostic test to find out what was going on! They took advantage of a 21 yr old! I have never been charged to see what was wrong with a vehicle! The front office was very rude telling me my son should have known better not sign if he can't afford it, he works two jobs to make ends meet, this is ridiculous! We called 4 other places that are reputable including a dealership and they don't even charge to diagnose a problem! They are very rude, do not use them! I also filed a complaint with the BBB! Doctors offices and dentist offices don't charge that much to see why your sick! read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. They are absolutely horrible. Honestly, should be called SKAMS. I think because i'm a younger girl they thought they could really take advantage of me! Luckily, I had a family member look over the list of everything they were trying to do. They charged me for some sort of brake flush even though my brakes were working perfectly fine before I brought it in. Said that my "bleeder screw" was knocked off and that just makes no sense. Unfortunately, I was in a pickle and decided to tell them to go forward with the work because I needed my car so so bad. My dad was in the hospital and I really needed to be able to get around. The next day when I'm planning on picking up the car, a woman called and is telling me my ENGINE BLEW UP! She ALSO tells me they already did the work and that I would have to pay for it. WHAT???? Immediately we go to the shop with my spare keys and my car started up fine. They indeed did NOT do any work on it and we towed my car back home. Horrible. Thank god they didn't actually end up working on it. I wouldn't even trust them to fix a bike lol. Stay far far far away!!!!! Unprofessional and liars. How are you gonna tell someone their engine blew up??? We have recording from when we were talking to them inside the store so they can't say any of this is made up. Disgusting. However, I waited a few days and never got a response, so I decided to go ahead and repost my original feedback using the option to post it publicly on their website so that other customers would be able to see. I then waited a few days and still never received any response from KAMS. So I then decided to use my third option, which was to post my feedback publicly on Yelp.....and still have not received any response from this company. Rudest lady in the world jumped down my throat here today. I was at Mavis Tire and they could not get my wheel off. They suggested I go to Kams, manager said 'give them my name'. I did all of this and the lady at the counter was so smug. Told me they did not know that person and that person was not going to set her prices. Sheesh. Cannot believe they allow her to talk to customers. Perhaps I was wrong to take the manager at Mavis at his word but I was just caught in the middle. Would not do business with them at all after this. I used to manage a business around the corner and we sent our fleet of trucks there, the folks were always nice then. Took it here without disclosing the Firestone quote... They looked at it, and worked up a price for a front brake pads and resurface rotors... When I asked about the rear brakes, they indicated that I had 60% remaining, and that they don't wear as fast as the front brakes.... First, reading the people who are giving them a low rating seem to either have no clue what they are talking about, or are self-entitled... I didn't experience anything like they talked about, and brought them something that could have easily been used against me to jack up the prices or services. I'm giving them a five star simply because I brought them a car that wasn't the norm. I have a 1976 Datsun 280Z with a SBC 350 swap in it. I brought it to them to help me with the carburetor, a fuel leak and rear suspension issues I was having difficulty repairing myself. They told me that there were a few cars ahead of me, but still managed to get my car back to me within the week! I was pleased. Fastest shop so far that has seen the car. As far as the service goes, the rear suspension I knew was going to be difficult, but they tackled the issue without even a comment. The carburetor was overhauled and tuned, and they said there was something about the sending unit in the fuel tank that needed replacement. Honestly, I didn't probe much about the sending unit.. There is still a slight leak in the fuel tank (possibly a line issue honestly), leaving a gaseous smell in my garage. (They wouldn't have seen this leak since it needed a full tank and I failed to bring it to them with one). And the carburetor still isn't perfect (After over an hour of driving it, the performance dips and had issues twice with the engine bogging down, as well as a random complete shut off) Both issues I don't blame them for, since they are limited and cannot just take a customer's car out for a two hour shake down drive. The prices were actually "normal" as far as other shops go when it comes to a unique car. Most shops will not even touch my car, and they didn't even hesitate to say yes. For that, and their clear communications and fair pricing, I give them a five star. I'm sure they'd rather not see my car ever again, but I would trust them with further services of my car in the future if it is things I cannot do on my own. I am planning on calling them about the fuel leak and carburetor issue to see what they think and possibly bring it back to have these dealt with (If they are comfortable tackling it again) read more

I had a great experience with KAMS. They were very kind and helpful. The work they did on my car was quality. They fixed my issue first go around. Much better experience than our dealer maintenance department. I know cars can be tricky and sometimes they have ghosts which make it hard for shops to fix. A little patience and trust on our part makes it much easier for the shop to give us quality and long lasting repairs. They will definitely get more of my money as I have a driveway full of cars (all out of warranty..LOL). read more

I have used Kams for all of my cars now. It is nice to know that I am dealing with an honest shop when I drop my cars off. One two separate occasions I was quoted a price by shops that "specialized" on my make and models (BMW and Toyota), and then took it to Kams and got a much better price. On my BMW, the diagnosis was incorrect by the specialist and it turned out to be a much smaller fix. Kams went the extra mile and did the right thing. $2700.00 to replace a water pump. My vehicle, which does have a terrible and unique design concerning the water pump, was repaired by these clowns. I caught the OWNER, Ken, and his pathetic service writer, Anna, red handed in multiple lies right to my face. I should have known better though. Those who referred to this place as SKAMS were being entirely serious. How Ken and his people sleep at night I do not know but they will have to answer to their dishonesty some day. read more

This place is great. I initially came here because they are a sponsor of the Allatoona High School Buccaneers football program. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the shop. They had a CLEAN WAITING ROOM and a very friendly staff. They diagnosed my truck quickly, needed a transmission, and gave me three different options. I called around and their prices were competitive with other shops so I gave them the go ahead. They kept me informed and completed the job on time. So I decided to stop in to talk to a mechanic. The lady at the front desk would not allow me to speak to one. She wanted to diagnose my issue from right there. Well your wrong. I already know what the issue is just needed two minutes of time with a certified mechanic. Instead its suggested that I drop my truck off for it to be looked at. As stated before I already knew the problem. So I got a wrong diagnosis from the lady at the counter who I can only assume is not a certified mechanic by the look of her nice looking finger nails. Even if I was going to drop my truck off to be looked at I'm still going to talk to the mechanic. All in all the lady was not rude to me, she was just determined that she was not going to let me speak with their mechanic. Probably will never use this shop for any work on my vehicles. read more

We should all be so lucky to find a mechanic that we trust. Kams has just that. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and seems very fair. We've taken our vehicles there for engine problems, brake work, tire repair and alignments. The only time we had a problem was when a mysterious idle problem couldn't be solved. So he only charged for the small third party diagnostic/flash upgrade that was done. Awesome. My only complaint is the confusing 2 location thing they have going on. There are 2 locations within a few miles of each other. The main location is where they can do almost anything whereas the other location is a little more limited. Just make sure you know which one you're actually calling. Some might complain about the rough building condition... there's nothing fancy going on. But honestly, that lets me know that they don't have to over charge me to pay for a fancy store. read more

"Independent shop service that costs more than the dealership" is the best way to describe KAMS. Compare dealer estimates to them for various repairs and you'll be surprised to find that they are equal or even higher. For example, KAMS quoted over $400 to replace an ignition switch on a Honda. Hennessey Honda quoted $251.00. Apparently The folks at KAMS have never heard the saying "you can sheer a sheep many times but you can only slaughter it once." Update: the owner just doesn't get it. His reply was about aftermarket parts but my review was only for Honda Parts and Labor from a Honda dealer in comparison to KAMS significantly higher parts and labor pricing. I stand by my review. A little background. I have actually used them for oil changes and other minor fixes as well as my father in his vehicle. So I've been a repeat customer but not after this morning. This morning I brought my vehicle in because I was having front end vibration. I was told that my car would be put through diagnostic test. Well I watched my car being pulled up and lifted and he immediately came back in and asked me to come back. I did and pointed to a tire that was ripped and said they would put on my spare. They recommended Discount Tire yet I knew they did not do alignments so I would have to go back to KAMS to get one done. So in my head I knew I would be going to a one stop shop new tire and alignment. So spare tire was placed, car driven to the front and then they charge me 99.95 for diagnostic testing. Did I fight the charge.... no but I do feel that they are charging people for work that actually wasn't done. Plus I am aware of other places that would have said no charge we will put the spare on and you can go get a new tire. As a single mother I am somewhat disgusted with the way they do business. I get a business should be paid for their services but the services I paid $100 for was not done. If they wanted to charge me $20/$30 for putting my car up to see an issue then so be it but I do not agree with how they handled this situation. They have lost my business as well as my father's. If anyone asks me where to go.... not sure yet but definitely not KAMS. read more

This is a place with great service and they treat your vehicle like their own. I trust them with my vehicle because if something goes wrong they make it right with you on the spot. The only reason this isn't 5 stars in my book is due to price. You get what you pay for, but they are pretty high. Their oil changes are pretty fairly priced, though. Kam's was recommended by a friend, but I have since found a mechanic I really trust and will use even if it means driving further. Cannot recommend this shop! Just had to replace an alternator that was installed about 16K miles ago at Kam's. The one Kam's put in was rebuilt and the bearings were going. My new and trusted mechanic did the work for the same price, and with a NEW alternator. Kam's never gave me the option if I wanted a new part or not. Price difference was only $20-30 between new and rebuilt alternator. Same thing happened with a headlamp. Same one, same beam had to be replaced after about !6K miles. Should have paid attention when the first oil change was a disaster and the technician didn't check half of what was on my list. read more

We moved to the area almost 2 years ago. We have taken both our cars to Kams. The work they do is always great. I'm sure there are places where you might be able to get the work done slightly cheaper but not for better quality. My favorite part is I am female and I'm only 21. I am the prime target to try and rip off when it comes to motor vehicles. (Although I know much more about cars than it looks.) They have never done any thing I didn't expect or anything that made me nervous. I never feel like I need to drag my big bad hubby in there to make sure no one messes with me and our car. They are always very quick. Most recently I came in to have the front struts redone on my minivan. Our other vehicle is only a two seater Mazda Miata. So when the minivan needs a repair we hope it's quick or we need to rent a car. I made a appointment for Friday. Dropped my daughter off at a friends house. When I arrived I told them I was going to wait for the car to be done. The estimated time I was given on the phone when I scheduled my appointment was 4 hours. They double checked that I still wanted to wait, even offered to drive me home with their shuttle service. But their shuttle service only goes a 5 mile radius of the shop, my home is 10 miles away. I told them I knew how long it would take, and I had planned for this. I had brought a few books, snacks, and had someone to watch my 18 month old who quickly looses patience in lobbies. The only thing I wish they had was something to entertain her when I come in for oil changes and things. I waited. They kept checking on me and my vehicle. I was out of there between 2.5-3 hours max! It was great. They noticed my rear wheel bearings need replacing soon but didn't come out and try to sell to me. They just wrote a quote at the bottom of my receipt. So when I do need them done I know what it will cost me. Kams is great I would recommend them to anyone. They are honest, and have caught a few issues on our van a previous mechanic had bodged. Their customer service is great so is the quality of work they do. The one time we had to bring something back they apologized profusely and fixed it VERY quickly. We love Kams. read more

Driving a long distance in a high end foreign car ... water pump blew in the middle of nowhere. Found these guys on line and made the call first thing the following morning. The lady who answered the phone (before they were actually open) was great. She reassured me that they would come and get me and take care of the car. She even ordered various parts to be proactive. True to her word, the owner came and got me - they fixed my car in a few hours and had me back on the road which was of massive importance. Heck, they even fed me !! I just love these people. I have been bringing my car here for nearly 8 years, despite recently moving an hour away. They're efficient, professional, customer service-centric (and DAMN good at it!) , and they have always gone above and beyond to make sure that my service is exactly what I need. This last visit was no exception. My car is ready for its $50k service, and a couple of different repairs are needed. They help me prioritize what I need to first so I can plan out my repairs, AND they fixed a dent for me without even being asked ... a dent I had previously been quoted $500 for.... all Russ did was pop it out with his hand while it was on the rack.
