If you need more advanced care - surgery, etc - maybe GVI is better. I don't know, but I would still go to one of the practices I've been to in Marietta or Woodstock for that given what I've seen from GVI. Details : I needed glasses - it had been a while and mine were getting old. I went to GVI because of the fancy billboards featuring pretty people and the brand they have cultivated as an advanced, cutting edge practice. I had to schedule in one of their satellite offices because of availability. I told the doc I had periodic variance in my vision on the right eye, typically when under high-stress. I also told her I was having one of those episodes that day. Doc says it's probably an optical migraine and continued with the exam. I took the rx to Pearle to buy the glasses - I honestly can't remember why but I'm glad I did. See below. When I got the glasses, they seemed ok at first. But over the next few days, I noticed the right eye variance popping up a lot. I didn't think much about it until I noticed that I didn't have that problem without glasses or while wearing my old glasses. I went back to Pearle and they confirmed that the glasses were built to the rx, so I went back to GVI. They scheduled an appointment right away but when I showed up for the recheck, I was told they just wanted to confirm that the glasses were built correctly. They were, so I had to schedule yet another appt for the actual recheck. I was told they only do those one day a week in Carrollton, so I had to schedule out a bit. I went to the second exam and told the second doc the whole story - right eye, glasses don't work, etc. She adjusted the rx. I went back to Pearle with the updated rx. Luckily, they honored their warranty even though it wasn't their fault and built me another pair. I picked those up and had the same issue - issue with my right eye when wearing the new glasses. I went back to Pearle and scheduled an exam through them for a second opinion. I had to pay out of pocket for that one because GVI had wasted my eye benefit for the year. Pearle doc spent a lot more time and ran some extra tests GVI didn't run either time. That doc found that dry eyes may be the source of my issues. Simple solution - drops. The 3rd rx was different in both eyes than either of the GVI scripts in and closer to my old glasses than it was to what GVI gave me. Pearle built a 3rd pair of glasses with their rx and they are dead on. I really hate that I wasted so much time and money with GVI. I also hate that Pearle lost time and money because of GVI but definitely appreciate them sticking by their warranty.

He takes the time to explain everything and show me what he is talking about. I told him what was going on with my sight and he was able to tell me exactly what Che issue was. I took his recommendation for treatment and within the week my sight was already better. Not only that he took the time to forward his notes directly to my Rheumatologist so she would be aware of the issue - he said he extremely dry eyes could be caused by issues she could test me for, to make sure I was ok. I love it when doctors are thorough and communicate. I feel like they are truly interested in making sure I get the best care. When they examined the last pair they found they were made wrong. I took them back to New Vision and asked for a refund bringing proof they were made wrong. He refused. He stated the former glasses I had issues with were only because I didn't like the frames. That's not true. I couldn't see properly out of any of them. I'd also asked to get new lenses in an older frame . He also refused. The person they use to examine your eyes isn't as good as can be had. Dr. Hemmings is a much better eye doctor and can even do cataract surgery. I wasted many months with this place and had to use readers to be able to see. I strongly advise to stay away from this place. You will be much better served to see Dr. Hemmings.
