Having your business closed at lunch is ridiculous. of people work during Monday through Friday and to be closed during their lunch break it's just bad business practicing. Not a good experience, Recently had an eye exam for contacts. It was determined I would stay with the same prescription however the office gave me wrong prescription. I ordered new lenses on line but they are the wrong prescription. Went to eye care today and was told too bad we can't help. They fully realized they gave me the wrong prescription too. The front desk staff, Robin, is extremely rude. I requested an appointment online. Never received a response. Called to find out if it would be confirmed and after providing the standard information she argued with me after offering to see the next available appointment for Dr. Ambrosia. She demanded to know what our schedule was before telling me the next available appointment. After going back and forth a few times, we finally found an appointment available, but we haven't even walked in the door and I'm already extremely upset that the front desk staff would pick a fight over trying to schedule an appointment. I would not recommend using this facility or Dr. Taylor Harris. They were very inconsistent with their communication and charged us $120 for attempting to put one contact in my 12 year old son's eye. They also kept the pack of contacts to use on other clients and charge them on what we've already paid for. That was straight from Dr. Harris' mouth. Very disappointed in such terrible service and charging us for a very inept service! Go anywhere but here if you have children that need eye services! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Barr for about 8 years, and she has been great. One great thing about this office is that they offer OptoMap for retinal exam instead of dilating your pupil with eye drops. This does incur additional cost, but if you don't like your eyes to stay dilated after the exam, this is a good option to have...and you will have a visual record of how your eyes look over time. This is a useful information, because I had to look for another optometrist in Atlanta, and I had to call several locations before I found another place with digital retina exam capability. They have a wide range of frame options. I like to choose something unique, and my last 2 frames have been really great that people were making comments all the time. They also have a pretty good selection of contact lenses, and Dr. Barr let me try 5 different Daily lenses when I was having an issue with them. Since I am an engineer, I notice a little detail like the flow lines on my lens (plastic stuff...looks like a rainbow on the lens surface)...which was very prevalent on one of my lenses. It causes light to bend differently, and mine was so bad that I could tell the difference. When I mentioned it to them, they did not understand (or didn't want to admit? Dunno) but they were willing to make another pair of lenses as a replacement for free. In the end, I was so busy at work that I never went back to replace and just lived with it...but it was nice of them to accommodate that request. And I'm not sure if this happens to all the lenses with AG coating, but the one from Eyecare Plus rubbed off after sweating and trying to clean the surface. It was not worth the higher cost! This might be different depending on the person, but I definitely can live without this feature. Just like another person mentioned, I too had to wait a while until I was taken to the back...then waited some more until the doctor was ready to see me. read more

The Doctors are great and the people are all friendly and helpful. However!! Getting glasses is a time consuming ordeal. Ordered a pair last year, took three weeks to come in and the Transition ordered was not on the glasses. Two weeks later when they came in I went outside into the sunlight and once again, no transition to darker. Third time was the charm. This year, lost a lens, came in for a new prescription, ordered the same kind of glasses, in fact left my old frame for new lenses. Two weeks later they called and when I came in, no frame just lenses. I guess I shouldn't have been called. Two weeks later, glasses are in, took them home and promptly returned. Something wrong with them. Understand they weren't ground correctly. Should be here after a further two week delay. I hate to leave the doctors here but there are Quality Control issues! read more

The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Wait times are generally not bad at all. I enjoy Dr. Barr and plan on using this office for my eye care needs for the foreseeable future. I used to go back to my previous eye doc in Henry County. I took a chance on this place and they were wonderful. The customer service was wonderful, especially with Clint, who fits for contact lenses. We had some big adjustments to make in my contacts and Clint was very patient with trying so many variations till we got it right. Dr. Barr is a delight and really listens to patient's concerns. The care here is alright. I've seen Dr. Johnson for years. The women at the front desk were helpful with getting my files from my previous doctor and helping me with pink eye. I love the new office. My main issue is with the customer service. Not sure if they have gotten new staff lately. I've experienced long wait times on multiple occasions. I can understand it for a drop-in visit but one time I had an hour wait for a regular visit. The last few times I've called or been helped by the people at the contact pick up contacts have been less than stellar. I called in and left a message and the call was never returned. I came to get contacts twice and the guy at the counter was less than friendly to me. I had him run my insurance card and he was ugly about it. Then he had an attitude again when I last came in. It was pretty unpleasant. I understand one bad day, but he was pretty nasty on multiple encounters. My whole family goes here still, but I will probably select a different place in the future. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Johnson for going on 20 years. In the past the service was very good. Lately it has been an awful experience. Last appointment was November 17, 2014. I arrived on time. I was given the preliminary exam, then placed in a exam room. I waited over 45 minutes for the doctor to examine me with not so much as an apology. I ordered over 1000 dollars in eyewear. A set of progressive trifocals and matching sunglasses. I got the sunglasses, but now 37 days later no glasses. I have been given 3 different excuses, first being the lens coating was not applied, the second they were scratched then followed up 20 minutes later with a new excuse, they have 4 right lenses but no left lens. I faxed a letter of disapproval to Dr. Johnson and have never even received the courtesy of a phone call. Definitely done with Eyecare Plus. read more

To say that I'm frustrated with this place might be an understatement at this point. I got contacts from them almost 6 months ago. Ever since I got them my left eye has been bothering me. I have been in there twice to try to get the problem fixed, I always get redirected to the contacts department--they have never directed me back to their doctor. I have worn contacts for 25 years--and NEVER had a problem with my contacts before I went to see them. The thing is, I would have forgiven them for their original mistake if they had let me see a doctor. I get redirected to the contacts department every time & they act like I'm the crazy one & brush my concerns under the rug. Someone in the contacts department blaimed it on a faulty box of contacts over the phone, & acted like I was the crazy one. They ordered me a new box of contacts--but I'm still having the same problem. I thought about giving them one more chance, then I'm like--they have completely treated me like a number, never let me see a doctor again, and then disregard my concerns over my eye and contacts. They don't let you see a doctor--you just get redirected to the bureaucratic contact department and none of them went to optometry school. To say that I no longer have any trust in them might be an understatement. I will never walk through their door again. And my contacts still aren't fixed. And my eye hurts. And I wasted $160 on contacts I bought from them. I don't care about losing money at at this point, I just want an eye practice that listens to my concerns and gives me appropriate care from an actual doctor. I'm going back to my old eye doctor, I am done with this place. read more
