First quote for foam injection was good. We took a couple months to make sure it was in budget. When we accepted the quote these guys said they needed to give us a new quote. So they came a second time. No quote given. So I asked for the quote and they came out a third time. This time the owner of the foam injection company came out also. When asked why the repeated need, I was told this company fired the agent who came out the first time who gave me an awesome quote and led me to want to do business with them. Avoid this company at all costs. Hired G.L. Hunt to do foundation work. Sales pitch was fabulous and it was all down hill after that. Two days after the work was done, on a Saturday, the sewer in my house backed up. Long story short... their foundation crew busted a big hole in my sewer line, covered it up and never said a word. I repeatedly reached out to GLH about this and was ignored. They just kept telling me I needed to pass a plumbing test or void my warranty. The plumbing company they own, came and charged me $450 to tell me my sewer test failed. Again, I explained about the broken pipe piece and was met with a blank stare. After we dug up the sewer line and found the hole they left, I finally hired a local plumber to make repairs. This cost $299 as opposed to the $6,500 estimate their company gave me. I attempted to get reimbursed for what I spent in tests and repairs - and they refuse and are hiding behind their contract. So, if you choose to call them be prepared. MOST STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE AND TERRIBLE WORK This company is a joke! I paid for the whole house to get level, they did have half and left (because it was 5:00, I was assuming). I call, and some random sales rep says "oh, they don't want to do the other part because you need a new support beam....I can get that ordered and will cost an additional $4000" (the original invoice for whole house was $6000, so this is almost double what they told would cost to "definitely get the job done and level house"). But ok, I trust what she's saying and say ok, let's do it. So they come back the next day and "do it" but nothing changed and what they did was soooooo shotty. Even me, definitely no foundation expert, can tell what they've done is not structurally sound and the new 6" beams are 5" under the dirt!..ummmm, what's going to keep the rain from rotting wood 5" deep in the ground on the outside of a house!. It's a pier/beam....which are wood foundation AND THEREFORE ABOVE GROUND. and all they did was attach the new beams under the old ones that were "not strong enough to raise the house up"...how did that help?! ....there is an 8 foot section of the old beams (that I knew needed replacing) is so rotted that when you kick it it crumbles...they just attached the "new , better stronger beam" underneath it! This makes no sense!! And this is the "additional support beams" I needed for $4000 more?! .....Oh, I forgot, when they attached the new beams they were so angled inward and buckled that if I jumped in the house a few times they most definitely would have fallen right over....(including the house!) and when I mentioned it the foreman was "lots of weight it's holding up". Ok, that's what a foundation does, so let's make that beam stand up straight. Geez. They also replaced another beam on other side of house...turns out it was the wrong one, and placed way too high, so now that part of house is angled upward. The communication between the company and their SUB PAR subcontractors is terrible. I've since had a structural engineer and another foundation company come take a look. They were shocked (to say the least!) at the work...both suggesting I report them to the state and the BBB. I can go on and on....but I'm starting to get angry. The job took longer than originally quoted, the workers left trash in our yard, broke a sprinkler line (which they fixed), buried a couple of our sprinkler heads, and took off with one of our extension cords and hoses. The worst part is that we did a plumbing test before and after, we passed before, and failed after. They won't fix the damage to our plumbing and won't provide a warranty for their work. Communication was not and still has not been the best. Once the workers left, that was it. We have tried calling both our sales person and the company. The workers were professional and tried answering our questions, they even tried getting a hold of someone they day they finished to help with our answers but they too couldnt not reach someone. Well until tonight when we got the bill at 8 pm, our only reach out since Thursday and it is now Monday. I am regrettably a GL Hunt costumer. I had my home's foundation repaired this past September 2023. I had other companies come out and give me bids and plans however I choose GL Hunt based on recommendations from a neighbor and a coworker. In all honesty I was hopeful that this job would get done with little stress and as little interruption to my family's life. Working with GL Hunt has been anything but stress free and easy. I was told by Brian Wrinkle that there would be little interference. This was definitely not true at all. When I scheduled the repairs I was told they could complete my repair job in 3 days, and that I would not need to be present for the first 2 days of the repairs, since they fell on Thursday, Friday. I work Monday thru Friday 8 - 5 and could be present on Saturday. Atleast that was the plan. They day came for the repairs on a Thursday, and my phone and ring door bell was going off. They repair crew was calling me stating they needed to get inside the house. Note: access to crawl space for foundations is located outside the home hence why I was told I would not need to be there. Nonetheless crew was calling me at work needing to get inside the home and found not continue with out getting inside. I was willing to attempt to be flexible and my employer was able to allow me to leave work(un paid) to go home and assist the repair crew. Day 2 of the repair was the same especially after I was told I would not need to be there the 2nd day of the repair. This time I could not leave work nor make on the spot arrangements for someone else to be present at the home. I was able to rush home after some time from work yet again... This time not only did I have to leave work a 2 time, I also came home to a non functional AC unit in the TEXAS heat. (The AC/HVAC system is located underneath the home.) I asked the crew members if they knew what happened and on guy just handed me an AC component?! I didn't know what he had just handed me? I didn't know where he go it? But he said it was from the AC? The crew and the GL Hunt site supervisor quickly washed their hands of anything to do with the AC unit. I had to call out and AC repair guy and he advised me the crew had either yanked on wires or moved something to cause the system to short out components. Either way I had to pay for the AC repairs and had to deal with a hot home at the end of the day, and had to find a safe location for my family due to extreme Texas heat conditions. The site crew advised the AC unit stopped working sometime midday while they were working under the house, they didn't seem to think that would have been important to pass on to the home owner? During this AC unit incident I requested to speak to the project manager, Brian Wrinkle about the situation. However I called him and he never returned my phone call. At this point in the process I am now having issues with the 3rd party GL Hunt contracts to preform a Hydro Static test of the plumbing. The tech came out could not find the clean out and told me he couldn't perform the test and gave a estimate to spend $412.00 to conduct and investigation to locate the clean out then stated the home is probably to old to have them and I would need to spend an additional $3300.00 to install the clean outs. After speaking to other plumbers and reading up on the matter it seems like the test could have been performed in other ways via the toilet base, which is conventional for older homes. At this point, I have spent well over $12000.00 not including the AC repairs and time off worked I had to take off. I wish I would have not used GL Hunt. You think you will be taken care of when you pick a big name like GL Hunt, but that's simply it the case. It has been headache after headache. Nothing has been easy working with GL Hunt. I would NOT recommend this company at all. I have nothing but regret for upswing them and investing my money with a company like GL Hunt. And now unfortunately still dealing with them to even honor the warranty? To any prospective customer I would look else where for sure. With GL Hunt your just an other job we're they just make a lot of money and move on with little regard for the customer. I can't continue to skip work in order to have my foundation repaired! They began last Friday, worked 1/2 day Saturday, then told me that they couldn't finish until the city did an inspection on the holes they dug. The city came out at 9am. The front end included lots of empty promises and over selling sales techniques that trapped my mom into a mess. Be careful and do your homework. On my opinion Stay far far away from them. They gave us a change order in the middle of the process more than twice the original bid - they cut water pipes and gas pipes under the home and refused to pay for the repairs. G.L. Hunt repaired our foundation in 2017. Ten piers were installed. I was very pleased with the process from start to finish. Recently, I noticed some drywall cracks on the side of the house that was warrantied. I called and explained my concerns. A warranty service order was made and the next available date was scheduled. Jeremy arrived on time this morning. He went through the entire house and measured everything - not just the side of the house where the piers were installed. He compared it to the last measurements and the measurements done when the house was built. He did a thorough inspection of the outside of the house as well. He explained that the drywall issues I'm seeing are not because of the foundation moving. I've had great service both initially and with warranty/follow up questions. Had a foundation inspection report done 3-27-2017 so we could sell our house thru Open Door of course they had their own local contractors come out. He said we needed 46 Piers about 11K in repairs (our house is 10 yrs old) and that didn't include replacing our wood floors (another 12-14K). The 1st Engineering report said we had an irrigation problem - no piers mentioned or needed. Had 2 more foundation ERs done and they just added on to the Open Door ER, which now was up to 15k for piers. We had Heath J. come out from GLHunt, he took me around our house and explained everything. Long story short the people at GLHunt were HONEST with me and had our best interest. He told me the 1st ER was correct, saving us +25k of unneeded repairs and wasted time. I also found out the engineer Open House used is going out of business, and the other 2 engineering companies weren't honest with us. So if you live anywhere near Keller and you are thinking about Open Door, beware of their local contractors. GLHunt has integrity, that goes a long way in my book! Our neighbor had a foundation repair done by this company. We live in a zero lot line neighborhood. The company didnt let us know the would be digging in our yard. They tore our grass up. My review is based on their honesty. I scheduled six foundation repair companies to give me an estimate to repair my home. My interest in foundation repair was due to a couple of cracks in sheetrock and jammed doors. For starters, I was impressed with GL Hunt's appointment scheduling process. Most companies were able to provide an estimate within 24 hours. GL Hunt scheduled me two weeks out. I took this as a good sign that they must be busy. All five companies that came to my house before GL Hunt estimated that I needed 12 to 15 piers at costs ranging from $3,800 to $5,600. After appointment five I scheduled PowerJack to do the repair. Thankfully, GL Hunt arrived a week later. Immediately, I noticed that they didn't bring an elevation device. The techs comment was that they are damage guys, not elevation guys. He took me to the supposed problem area of my house and pointed out that if my house had really dropped 3.2 inches as claimed by one company that I should have a 3 inch gab at the corner of my house and a gap at one of the windows. Apparently elevation varies in every house so the foundation repair co's use this info to close the deal. GL told me I do not have a foundation problem. The three wild trees in front of my house are not getting enough moisture and thus their roots are absorbing water from underneath my house. They recommended more yard watering and a soaker hose running the side of my house. My advice, call GL first. It might save you thousands! read more

Josh, Sr Project Manager came in on time and spent his time to check the house both inside and outside. He even took off his shoes while working inside the house. Josh is very professional and nice. For repairs. We paid them about $4,000 up front to repair a stopped up drain in a tub. As they were leaving After about 3 hours of work, my husband asked if the had checked to be sure it didn't leak. "No" they said, and it did leak. They called "outside contractors" the next day to repair the repair (we assumed). $4k was a Huge overcharge for such incompetence. the first crew didn't know the difference treated lumber , which was specified in bid, and untreated. guess which they chose. they crawled over a/c duct crushing it and pulling it down to ground . I have a background in construction ,I found myself being the supervisor telling them how to do things correctly , a situation that continued throughout the job. The floors continued to be less than rigid apparently no thought was given to supprt long spans .They were willing to do things correctly when informed ,but you have to wonder what would have been left in a sorry state without proper (my) supervision The estimate accepted on 11/9 work was completed on 3/15. The only thing they completed in a timely manner was money collection. Bottom line ;if you're not able or qualified to oversee the job do not hire them. They had no problem working us into the schedule and had all the work done in a day.
