ZERO stars...negative stars if possible!!!! Omg where do I even begin?! First of all, this may/may not be the actual business name. The actual business seems to be "Norma's Formalwear" or similar. PLEASE do yourself the favor and learn from others' mistakes in dealing with this "business "! DO NOT- I repeat, DO NOT!- give this person ANY money or business!!!!! Complete SCAM! I brought my son in last week for a prom tux/suit. Red flags popped up (cash or Zelle only?), but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I trusted this was a legitimate business. I could go on and on about the details of each shady hint, but let's cut to the fact that, although I remained friendly and forgiving with her lack of communication and pressing of our time, we did not receive his suit. I kindly left a voicemail for a refund yet she still did not respond. I called this morning now (day AFTER prom) and I more firmly asked for my refund, at which point she answered the phone and told me my son's suit has been in her shop for several days!! I became angry because she lied to me either yesterday, when I had her in the phone the afternoon of the prom and she told me the "shipment" won't be in until 2pm, or she's lying now. Either way, I want her to hand us a suit or our money! I've given her every chance to make this right yet she yelled at me on the phone saying she "don't do refunds" and hung up on me. Sorry, this is a long post. I wanted to share our terrible experience with the tux shop (Norma's formal wear/ Norma's bridal ) at 3817 S Meridian, near the dollar tree south hill. Our daughter got married this past Sunday. We went there to rent a suit for my husband. They told us a price in the 225-250 price range. We picked what he wanted. My husband went in a week before the wedding and paid for the rental because they insist on cash and no credit cards. First red flag. When my hubby got home he said It was 329.00. I said that's not right. He said well that's what they charged and we felt like it was bait and switch. We were supposed to pick up the suit on Friday and he got a text saying that they had a family emergency and would be closed all day Friday. So on Saturday, he went in and she hemmed the pants and said be careful putting your feet in and don't catch the stitching. The pants were a size too big because she couldn't reach her supplier to get a smaller size. We were stuck so took the suit. It was just a rental and he could belt them for the wedding. When my husband tried the shirt on at the wedding, it was a size too small and he could barely button it. He made do the best he could during the wedding. When we went to return it today, the hours sign said open at 11. We were there at 11:57 and they were closed. We came back at 3:30 and she told him that he bought the suit, that it wasn't a rental, and offered him a 75.00 discount off a future rental. When he came out and told me, I was furious. I stormed in and I insisted on a refund or the suit. They didn't want to do either. I said if it was a purchase, then give me the suit. The husband refused giving me the suit and i refused to leave so she did finally give it to me but it's of little value because nothing fits. There are a lot more details but I'm trying to keep it as brief as possible. Owners husband is rude. They are crooks. This is why they charge cash and won't take a credit card. Purchased my sons tux 6 weeks before prom, and was told it would be ready the week before. The week before we went to check in and they told us Thursday, Thursday came, and they said Friday, Friday came and they said Saturday at 11 am, Saturday comes(the day of prom!!) and they say come in at 1 pm, get there at 1 and wait over 2 hours to try on the suit and than they tell us they were not able to get the vest, bow tie, and pocket square we ordered and just gave us some random items that were close in color. I was so frustrated we just took what we could because what could we do with the event happening the same day. This experience was beyond frustrating, the lack of communication beforehand that what we purchased is not what we would receive is disrespectful. Stay away from this place! My fiancé wanted to rent a tuxedo here for a wedding that he was a groomsman in. Initially, the wedding party he was apart of was told a price that was feasible and they decided to get their tuxedos here. They went there once to get measured and the staff were nice, but a little forceful towards their decisions (buying over renting, extra add-ons for the tuxes, hemming promises, etc.) They ended up having to go back on a separate trip to pick them up (my fiancé was in charge of this) and he was informed that the store needed to remeasure everyone in the wedding party. As the wedding was coming up soon and they had been reassured earlier that the measurements were good to go, this was a little disheartening, but it was still okay. We got everyone remeasured and then assumed everything would be taken care of from there. Wrong! The tuxedos didn't come until right before the wedding, and when they did almost all of them were incorrect. Each tux was missing different parts of their full fit (see Sarah's review) and we were very disappointed to be informed that the hemming services were not able to happen due to their sewing machine being broken. The couple there cussed at and harassed our family members after our family members asked for a refund (which they fully deserved) and the whole experience at this shop was extremely disrespectful, disappointing, and unprofessional. RUN! This place is a scam! We ordered a suit and multiple sets of bow ties and suspenders. This was months before the wedding and we paid cash up front (they only take cash and Zelle which should've been the first red flag). As the wedding approaches, we continue following up, she tells us don't worry it'll get here.....ONE day before the wedding they finally get the shipment, we drive over an hour to get there, they have us wait over 2 hours while helping other people and then finally when we get the clothes, the suit is not the one we ordered and the bow ties and suspenders are not the correct color. They also didn't have the cufflinks she offered "for free" and when addressed she said "well they were free so you can't complain". They didn't have any options for replacement and kept repeating no refunds. They NEVER apologized or tried to make it right. They continued to say no refund and "everything is fine, you're just overthinking it". This establishment is beyond unprofessional and are scammers. Stay away at all costs! read more

We are kind of in the middle of a nightmare with this shop. They gave us unhemmed pants and told us their sewing machine was broken but gave us not price break for having to pay to get them hemmed. Then, they ordered a shirt in the wrong color for us and are not making good on it or giving us a refund for the wrong color. We ordered and paid for a total of 4 tux's for my son's wedding. We were strung along up until 24 hours before the wedding. One tux was missing shirt, vest, shoes, and belt. Second was missing everything but the pants. Third was missing shirt, vest, shoes, belt and wrong size pants. Fourth was no where to be found...lost in transit we were told. Also claimed that their sewing machine was broken and we'd need to find somewhere to take whatever we could elsewhere. When? The wedding was in less than 24 hours and we still didn't have the tux's! We demanded a refund, and were told they would not refund a penny, that's their policy. When we showed them our receipt, they said it's no good. The man there cussed at us, and told my son to leave their store. He actually challenged him to fight if he wouldn't leave. This husband and wife team is a disgrace and I can't warn everyone enough...go ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!! So unprofessional and rude. No sense of professionalism from either of them. They almost ruined a wedding. Thank GOD for Men's Wherehouse for stepping in and getting the wedding party looking sharp for the big day. Please read & trust reviews! Owners are very kind & accommodating when you order or rent suit. Owners push purchasing a suit to teens going to prom. Just let them rent the suit. Issues comes when you come to get the suit. Owners are VERY unorganized. Boxes of suits laying on the floor, they didn't know if they had suit or not. Was to pick up purchased suit for a prom day prior. Did not have suit ready & available til a few hours before dance. Which impacted a group of kids going to do pictures, dinner & dance together. Far more stressful than it needed to be. We did not know if they had suit til a couple hours prior to dance. In which we were told if we wanted the suit now we would have to take responsibility for ironing the shirt. We agreed, but Owners sent our suit out with another customer in error. We waited there for the customer to come back with our suit. Owners do not take responsibility for not having your suit timely, they do not apologize, they do not thank you for your business. Instead they are rude to you and will try to argue with you anytime you try to get answers. Owners try to argue and intimidate you stepping toward you as they raise their voice, when you are just speaking in a normal tone & trying to find out if they are going to produce a suit or if other accommodations need to be made. Worst experience and customer service. My husband and I went in September 2024 to order a suit for him to wear for our February 2025 wedding and the fitting took over 2 hours. We placed the order and paid for the suit the day of the fitting. Huge mistake. Norma said she would contact us in 6-8 weeks depending on when the supplier ships. Norma never contacted us. My husband reached out to Norma for an update and it took her 4 days to respond. Her response was that she would check on it. The next day she responded and said the pants and jacket were in but the vest and shirt were not in. Then two weeks later my husband messaged her again to ask for an update on the missing pieces and she never responded. So we went into the store and she blamed the supplier for not sending the pieces and then this changed to they sent the wrong pieces. She wanted my husband to try on the pants and jacket since they were there and he could not get the pants past his knees. He ordered a 38. Mens pants are not like womens where they change from store to store. Norma blamed the supplier and said these are 38's. There was no way. Then he tried on the jacket and the sleeves made it 4 inches UP from his wrist. This was clearly not the suit we ordered. She then wanted him to go through another fitting and we said absolutely not. We already did a lengthy fitting and we know the sizes we ordered and this was not it. She said she would order another suit for us and never contacted us again when the pieces came in. Norma has horrible customer service and even worse communication skills. There are no refunds all sales final and thats how they get you. Norma knew our wedding date was in February and in December when I reached out she said they still didnt have it and would talk to us after the holidays because they were busy. I contacted her again in January and finally all the pieces were in but if we needed to reorder there wouldnt be time to do so before the wedding. Luckily we decided to go through Nordstrom Rack and it was the best. Arrived in 2 days and everything fit. Plus it was half the cost and looked way better. In the end I finally got my husbands suit, in APRIL. All this to say, do not trust the tux shop. Do not trust the service and do not trust the products. read more

Lol, this is the 2nd time I've been to this place. Not by choice , but the wedding parties I knew chose it. First time, my suit didn't fit even after getting it tailored. Literally wore a clown suit. 2nd time, buttons were coming off all the groomsmen suits, and one other groomsmen suit looked like he was drafted out the 2000 NBA draft. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND! They will raise their voice, curse at you and hang up the phone when asked to talk about something that was wrong. We had a great starting experience with the tux shop. After some miscommunication my husband did not have the right tux for our wedding. He got the tux and it was the wrong size and also stained and had a missing pants button. My husband got it the Wednesday before the wedding- I was out of town and we went back in the Monday before. He was told his new tux would be in Thursday. It was still the wrong jacket he was given; my husband did not know that or he would have come back for his new size. When he called the owner to ask for a partial refund he was told no. I called to confirm what was said because that seemed weird to be since we didn't get what we paid for; started out talking to the woman that owns the business next thing I know I am on with the husband with no notice that I would be handed to the next owner. It was like he grabbed the phone. I was told the story my husband had told me was not correct and they retold me everything. I was also cursed at 2 times on the short time the male owner had the phone. I had not even raised my voice. I was asked what I wanted and I informed them a slight discount on the suit rental to which I was told that this conversation was not going anywhere. When I said I would be fine without the refund and I would Leave a review I was told "do what you have to do" and hung up on. 100% do not recommend because If things go wrong they take no ownership on errors and will treat you unprofessional curse at you and hang up. An Emergency Rescue during a Pandemic. I wanted to tell everyone my story on how "The Tux Shop" in Puyallup and one exceptional employee came to my rescue on my Wedding Day in helping fulfill a Perfect day. As everyone knows wedding can be very stressful but let's add a Global Pandemic to this equation as well. I can't even begin to tell you how many obstacles my fiancé and now wife and I had to overcome for our wedding but I can say this, after managing through family heart aches, international travel restrictions, quarantine/restrictions, moving venues and anything else that you could possibly throw at us, let's add the day before your wedding "YOU HAVE NO TUXEDO".... I found out just days prior and scrambled looking for somebody to help. As I was new to the area and times for Tuxedo places that were open had been limited, I did manage to find "The Tux Shop" that would be open the very next day which was the before my wedding. When I arrived, I spoke with Norma Bonnin who happened to be the Area Manager. This was a very tough ordeal but she reassured me that everything will be fine. I was fitted and told that this Tuxedo would be ready for me the very next day which was completely amazing. I have to say that with all my travels globally in regards to customer service, there is none that could compare to the caring nature and professionalism provided from Norma in understanding exactly what I wanted and what I was looking for on my wedding day. The groomsman and father of the bride in our wedding rented tuxes from here, MULTIPLE tuxes did not fit and we were scrambling and stressing to get this issue fixed TWO days before the wedding. We told them our wedding was out of town and would need the tuxes at least 4 days in advanced yet the tuxes came 2 days before the wedding. I had groomsman barely make it on time to the rehearsal due to the tux shop not fixing the issue until the MORNING OF the rehearsal and the location being over an hour away. My Dad, the father of the bride tux fit yet didn't the bow tie did not come with it thankfully the GROOM had an extra tie he could wear. We had great service the first few fittings with the groomsman but I was completely NOT impressed by the end of this experience. Would not recommend this location of the company maybe one of there other locations is better. But if not I would not recommend the company at all. This added stress on me being the bride was very unnecessary and could have been avoided had they done there job correctly the first time. NOT something a bride should have to stress about days before her wedding when there are so many other things to deal with as well. read more

Very poor customer service! I had my daughter measured for a tux shirt and it was supposedly ordered. I stopped it to pick it up, and they did not have any record of our order or visit. The person at the counter said her coworker had helped us out and she would contact her and get back to me that day. A week has gone by and no phone call, so I decided to stop in and see it her shirt was there. The same counter person was there that I had spoken with the week before. She gave me an excuse the she has not been able to get in touch with her coworker, and wanted us to place another order. I politely declined and took my business elsewhere. My fiancé and I went to get a vest. We ended up canceling our order within the time frame of cancellations. I spoke to someone on the phone and cleared up my order and said I should be getting my refund back. It's been 2 weeks and I started to wonder why I never received it. I called back and they made me speak to someone I'm hoping was the manager. He said he'd fix my refund and did it over the phone. Told me I'd receive it within 3 day if not to call back. I still never received it and a week has gone by. I have been trying to call this place and no one ever seemed to answer my calls. I am too busy to go in store so I assume everything could be done over the phone. I call one last time and the lady on the phone explains to me what's going on. I've called my bank and have my statements for proof that I have still not received anything. She told me she'd have to email the accounting department. I asked how long could it be, she said hopefully soon. I have been waiting since then. It's been a month now since I haven't received my refund. About $60 worth of something I never used. That's a lot of money and I have been very patient with this whole process and now I am just fed up with this company for making run around. Never again will I come to this company! read more

The Tux shop was fantastic. We had 15 tuxedo purchases, 15 shoe purchases, and 15 tie and vest rentals. A tall order in itself, but compounded by having 15 teenage boys of multiple sizes and transportation challenges.
