I have so many mixed feelings when I think about how my dress appointment here went. I felt welcomed when I arrived and everyone was nice the vibes were good. All of their dresses were lovely but they only had what felt like a few simple but lovely elegant to choose from which is what I was looking for When I landed on the dress that I liked the most (out of the ones that I wanted to try on) I suddenly felt very pressured to purchase it by my fitter. In hindsight it was the wrong dress and I should have been at least encouraged to think on it and come back for such a big purchase but was not. I ended up buying the dress and was pushed to buy a veil without being told it was $500! (Until i was handed the bill). It unfortunately continues, as most of those buying a wedding dress, this was my first time. I had tried many things on but only ordered once. I trusted my fitter and she asked if I wanted it "a little" smaller or "a little bigger" I obviously went with a little bigger only to receive a dress that was HUGE. I later found out that most places order to your largest size and don't take into account the style of dress you picked and you just have to trust the stylist to help advise. I have a small chest and waist but wide hips and if I chose a form fitting dress my largest size would be needed but I chose a ballgown. So I took home a dress that could absolutely not be worn and had to be fitted so much that the top hardly resembles what I bought. Looking back the vibe was great and the people were nice but it was missing the guidance and support that I think is needed for wedding dress shopping. You typically only do it once or twice and it is made such a large deal there should be space to think about things and also know what is being organized. read more

She asked lots of questions and took feedback from me, even when I wasn't sure how to vocalize how I felt. I made an appointment at Samila about 6 months ago, and I am so happy with my overall experience - from the dress selections, the price range, value, and customer service. When I made my appointment, my stylist was Yasmin and I appreciated her so much!! I told her what I was looking for, my budget, and what I didn't want in my dress selections. Samila Bridal completely soured my wedding dress buying experience with how greedy, rude, and unceremonious they were. Yasmin was terrible and a huge pain to work with. I was treated like just another transaction and not a bride. My first appointment was good and so was my original stylist (not Yasmin thankfully). However, once I entered the dress buying phase, it was very unpleasant. Since it was an expensive purchase, I was trying to ask questions and the manager, Yasmin, used a snarky tone and was condescending. I successfully negotiated with them which is industry standard and should be expected occasionally, but maybe the manager didn't like that and used that as an excuse to be rude and sassy. It wasn't okay. Yasmin ruined my dress buying experience. Since we're being specific, she was condescending and rushed me due to their busy schedule - I literally booked the next available day after my first appointment which was about two weeks later due to their winter break, which I'm glad they have but in my defense I did my best with scheduling given their availability. They tried to rush me out of the store, suggesting to buy a wedding dress online. Sure I could finish a few thousand dollar transaction online, Yasmin condescendingly said they can "walk me through it" if I bought in person, and I'm glad I bought in person vs online because several details came up that need clarified including re-measuring me in front of a window which was a bit violating. Another uncomfortable part was her bringing her dog into the store, every appointment after, even though I indicated I had dog allergies when scheduling my appointments. In future appointments through the next year, the manager Yasmin never improved and was consistently snobby and did not treat me with respect. The dress buying process concluded unceremoniously. I was just a price tag to them and they no longer showed kindness once I bought. A few days after the purchase, I got an email which I thought would be order details or a copy of my paper receipt, but no, it was just my order number and a long request to leave a positive review, which made me feel like they were greedy and just wanted to benefit themselves now that I already paid. They even mentioned to email them with bad feedback instead of posting, but I don't think an email would fix Yasmin's bad attitude and it wouldn't change the awful experience I already had. So here's your review Yasmin, lose the condescending and snarky tone and be a better person, don't be so greedy and think twice before you ruin more people's experiences. Samila was our 4th stop and if save the best for last isn't real, then I'm not sure what is. To start, the shop is absolutely beautiful, additionally there was a lot of street parking available. I had booked my appointment the night before, and called the shop before booking to ensure my size range was available. The shop had requested that I browse their selection and choose a few dresses that I liked, and they had those dresses pulled for us when we got there. We were brought to the beautiful loft, where were had the whole upstairs to ourselves. Shea was fantastic, she really made the whole experience great for us. She was extremely informative, and made me feel very comfortable during the fitting process. The third dress I tried on ended up being the one! I had tried on a very similar dress at another shop, but the quality of the dresses at Samila are so much better than any of the others I had tried. The shop charges $50 for appointments. Not sure if I got that back (because I did not look) but it's usually a deposit/ holding fee for all other shops I've been to. The best part of my service experience at Samila was Shea, the stylist. When interacting with Shea, she makes you feel uplifted and bubbly, like you should when shopping for a wedding dress. Yasmin was less bubbly and seemed to be going through the motions. Not sure if it was something we did or if it was just an off day but I did not feel very welcomed during the entire visit. At some point during the conversation, I mentioned I first inquired if they had a particular dress because I fell in love with it on IG. I said I emailed first because some shops rather invite you in so you can try on many dresses, which is fine, just wasn't my goal. Yasmin countered and opined that sometimes people just want to know the price of the dress (which I did not ask in my inquiry). The comment seemed odd, and I don't think it's a bad thing for people to ask the price points before coming in, everyone's budget is different. At the end of the appointment I purchased a bridal crown, but not the dress. I also tipped Shay- $333-$354 ish total. A few moments after my purchase I asked Yasmin if she could take a photo of my aunts and I, who accompanied me to the shop. Yasmin purported to be more than willing, but was very nonchalant, a bit irritable it seemed and when we looked at the photo some were out of focused and two photos captured us blinking. She didn't seem to care about taking a good photo, seemed she just wanted to quickly snap, get it over with and get us out. So the review is mixed but fair, two interpretations of not so great interactions reflected by the subtraction of two stars. There a good selection of dresses and styles, but part of the service made me feel unimportant as a client. I would still recommend as a place to view dresses BUT if you're big on customer service, or if you know yourself and know you pick up on sassy energy from women, maybe spare yourself the frustration. I've since read reviews, and notice that Yasmin has quite a few service complaints spanning from allegedly only being concerned about the sale to telling clients weekend appointments are reserved for guaranteed buyers. Yikes, how awful to vocalize something like that. Everyone with whom the shop interacts is a potential client. Being in business, especially as a woman, can be challenging, BUT when people leave they will remember how you made them feel. A softening of the approach may be helpful. *Also, if you have a budget to which you'd like to stick closely, maybe gauge a price point before visiting. It's doable compared to prices in California, but I echo Addie's review about prices being a bit higher. For example, the dress I liked was marked $2699 ish. I found the same exact dress, designer and SKU, at another shop in Florida for $1650 ish. I sent an email after my appointment asking if they would sell the dress for the lower price, but no one responded, which I perceived as a refusal to negotiate price, so just be aware. read more

So so nice that you have your privacy putting the dresses on and off. They're there to help, but let you get the dress on most of the way first. I had such a wonderful experience shopping for a wedding dress! The team took the proper precautions to ensure safety and my bridal party had an amazing time. My consultant did a great job of listening to my vision, asking questions, and pulling beautiful dresses. She asked permission to pull a dress that wasn't the silhouette I wanted and of course, that ended up being THE dress. I went back for a return appointment with my mom and again, they were so kind and patient while we made the final decision. (Yes, we still ended up with the dress my consultant had pulled on the first trip). Yasmine, the shop owner, was so sweet and my mom loved the shopping experience. This place is so cute! Love the vibe and everyone was so nice. Parking was easy both times. Samila's is an exclusive carrier of Sophia Tolli and those gowns were to die for, every choice I made was from her. I was cautioned that it could take as much as 11 months to get the dress so I would advise to check this place out well in advance. The accessories were by far the best I've seen compared to other bridal shops and Yasmin was SO good at pairing you with accessories that match you and the dress. They have a cart of drinks and snacks and it's sectioned off so even if someone else has an appointment you don't feel awkward. I didn't have a hair tie either and they gifted me two for try on/styling purposes, so nice! I see why these appointments come at a charge because you definitely get that extra level of service. Also the dresses weren't as expensive as I was expecting so that was a pleasant surprise. Yasmin was also great at making selections for you and was clearly very knowledgeable. She was also so amazing with my mother who doesn't speak English well. Sometimes people get short or frustrated with her but Yasmin was amazing and was so good at reading body language and context I sometimes didn't even need to translate! We were all able to have fun despite a language barrier. I do wish there was also a way to see what dresses and accessories were on my profile so I could ogle and see the pricing, potentially also order online based on that. I had the most amazing wedding dress shopping experience at Samila Bridal. I paid $200 to have the boutique to ourselves and that money went towards my wedding dress. My little party and I were welcomed so warmly and with champagne of course! I showed Yasmin dresses I loved and had several dresses pulled. They also understood my body and what looked best on me. I'm generally insecure about my figure (especially after gaining the quarantine 15) but Yasmin and her team made me feel so beautiful and confident! Dresses here are BEAUTIFUL. For a small shop they have a good handful of selections but honestly I wouldn't recommend buying here. I found a dress, purchased it and later saw on their website it was on sale but they wouldn't honor the online discount. They said my dress was custom made to my order however when I received it NOTHING fits. I get they need to order the biggest size from our measurements but I literally had to get EVERYTHING altered. Another gal, Yasmin re measured me but that is all variable as she pulled it MUCH tighter around my waist and already set in her mind that I lost weight before even doing that and that 90% of the time that is the case and not their sizing recommendation or how the dress was made. The girl that helped me try on dresses was kind and patient and very helpful but the communication of sizing wasn't there. The waist was my smallest measurement and I still had to get it taken in 1.5-2inches. Bust of course was extremely big as I run smaller there but they should communicate sizing and other buying options like their online sale before we set to commit. Seems like Yasmin (the girl that re-measured me) is just there for the sale and don't have your best interest. I honestly did feel pressured even when scheduling an appointment. It's prom season! My daughter had previously selected a dress online from another company. The dress was supposed to ship in 5-10 days. A month later it still hasn't shipped. I encouraged my daughter to go out and try some dresses on, because really at this point she needs a dress. She called Samila and was able to schedule a consultation the same day. We scheduled. Consultation for 4:30 PM on a Saturday. We got to the store, washed our hands and we were ushered Nextdoor where we met with a consultant. This lady had the patience of a freaking saint. My daughter is not easy to please when it comes to clothes. She had a lot of sensitivity issues and can be a little self conscious. The consultant had pulled a lot of very beautiful dresses out, some of which my daughter refused to try on. The consultant, in a very non pushy, non salesy way, really encouraged my daughter to try on dresses instead of being so quick to say no to them on the hanger. My daughter really needed this and ultimately picked something she would have normally said no to because she tried it on and felt beautiful and comfortable in the dress. I was so grateful for the consultants guidance, encouragement and more than anything her patience. Prior to my daughter making her final selection, there were two other dresses in the running. Another consultant came and helped work with my daughter to find out what she did and didn't like with the dresses. This ladies were awesome and patient. I'm so glad we found this shop and would highly recommended it to others. As we were paying, I mentioned to the second consultant how awesome the first consultant was and she let me know that we had been working with Samila herself.
