I was shown the differences between the different bikes. They had several different suppliers and models to test. I ended up ordering one and a bike rack also. They will be putting it together for me when it comes in. I was super impressed by the customer service and happy to support a local business.

The store staff has been very kind and helpful with my wife who is currently training for a triathlon. I brought in a flat that needed fixed and they helped me there, I had another oddball bike project that I needed help with that unfortunately ended up being beyond what was smart to spend economically speaking, but that's not the bike shops fault. It was just that If you're re-building an old beater bike to give away to a kid, its hard to make that economically feasible when buying components at bike shop retail prices. This probably offended them because I didn't offer an explanation but they are going to need to forgive me if they want me as a new-bike customer. Everyone knows that the bike industry is currently in the middle of its worst-ever recession. The pandemic-induced interest spike in bikes was immediately followed by a Massive drop off in demand that many fellow bike nerds are predicting will last way into 2027. I did notice that every time I went in to the Bowling Green Cyclewerks shop it I was the only customer which is not good. The listed prices on their new treks was exactly what trek shows on their website - it occurred to me with things as they are you'd think that they'd offer a discount to the LBS dealers to give them a competitive lifeline... The best item I have purchased from the shop so far was the Hoag wildflower Honey that the owner Jon Hoag produces from his Apiary in nearby Whitehouse Ohio. . So many of the old LBS I used to know and patronize are gone, hopefully Cyclewerks can find a way to re-invent itself and stay open. I paid upfront for accessories that were not in stock because I was told they would be in stock very soon. Almost a year later and I still do not have the product I paid for and and salesman is just telling me now that item was just ordered this week. I went and got my money refunded and have found same item in a competitor shop. Soooo disappointed and frustrated and will not be returning.

Not only did they have one, but they offered to come to the den meeting and give the demonstration. That's when I met Annette & Bill - a very nice couple who were happy to donate their time & resources to give to our 5th graders a hands-on lesson about repairing/replacing a tire, and bicycle maintenance & upkeep. After the meeting, I also took my 25 year old mountain bike to them for a much needed tuneup before leading the Cub Scout 10 mile bike ride. They went above & beyond just a tune-up, fixing everything that needed repair - and in record time. They gave me back a bike that performed beautifully - just like when it was new! I was also pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the cost was for all the work they did on my bike! THANK YOU ANNETTE & BILL! We will definitely be back for hobby stuff & anytime we have a bike needing repair!
