I am disappointed in CycleWerks: while the staff is nice and they have "tried to find the right bike" for me but they have missed the mark: the first two I don't blame them because my needs evolved, the FX Sport 4 was a disaster: selling me a $2K bike (decent carbon frame) with a $700 drivetrain was an absolute ripoff. Had the salesperson (whom I won't name) told me I needed a better drivetrain and go higher, I would have done more research and found my way to an Endurance Bike. I went to another bike shop locally, and they flat out said their is nothing that could be done to upgrade the bike, get a better bike (ie Endurance). They sold me the closest bike to what they had for what I described, but they didn't talk thru all the options, and the salesperson telling me this was a performance bike with a Shimano Cues was not accurate: this was also the guy that said I would average 20mph, which I am lucky to do 16-17 mph. Unless you know what you want, they are not going to talk thru the options, they will just sell you a bike, even it is not right or the components are absolute junk. While I can't say don't shop from them, don't expect them to provide knowledge and direct you towards the right bike: thus the 3 star rating (kind of average). read more

Our family had the BEST experience with CycleWerks! We went in not knowing 100% what we wanted and Scott helped us learn. Scott was very knowledgeable and not a pushy salesman which made the decision so much easier. The one thing I thought I wanted was an expensive bike trailer for my son and Scott went over several brands and tiers within those brands and didn't guide us to buy the expensive one he actually personally recommended a fair priced model. My brother had a flat on his wheelchair. I walked through the door of Cyclewerks with wheel in hand. The clerk checked to see if the tire would hold air or if a new tube was required. The existing patch on the tube had failed, so replacement was required. One of the workers sitting nearby having lunch accurately said off the top of her head which tube was needed She plucked it from the shelf. The original guy helping me popped out the dead tube, installed the new one, and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. The service was efficient, the staff was knowledgeable & friendly, and the inventory was available to get my brother rolling again. Thanks for the friendly experience. read more

I've used these guys a few times and honestly they're reasonable and they got your taken care of fairly quickly. Where they run into problems is the owner himself.He seems combative and condescending. For example today I dropped off a bike to have tires put on it and he tells me he may have to order the tires.It's a Walmart bike so I say to him "any tire will do,it's not that important".He then walks off-end of conversation.He didn't say a word. I get that people sometimes have a bad day but this is pretty much the norm with this guy. read more

On a cross country tour, a tire blew out. Got a new tire, tubes, pump, and stuffs. They had what I need and got the job done, but they didn't do good job putting the wheel back on the bike with the quick release lever on a weird angle and loosened, and they also charged one more tube that I didn't buy. The girl was nice and let me grab another one. Somehow felt I was rushed out by the sales guy. Probably because I was having caffein crash and was a dirty tourist to him. Been in the bike industry for years, its got lousy aspects for sure. read more

About 6 years ago, I purchased a bike from another bike shop in Toledo who shall remain nameless (think north on Secor road). After buying the bike I returned for maintenance and found that I was looked down on and dismissed as a "newbie". At one point I overheard the tech guy refer to my weight issue, questioning why my bike needed a tune-up because "clearly she isn't riding it". My experience with the nameless shop was so uncomfortable, that when I needed follow-up support I refused to go back and just drifted from the sport. Recently my husband and I started riding again. I had heard about Cyclewerks from the net, and we decided to go there for his new bike. He purchased a Trek Fitness bike, and was completely satisfied with the purchase and the service. As we continued to ride, I encountered a few um...issues that made riding uncomfortable. We returned to Cyclewerks to problem solve with the staff, and to get some additional gear. All I can say is that Little John and Matt were amazing! I was able to comfortably discuss the problems that I was having, and they solved them! All I needed was a new saddle, and new shorts. Chaffing gone! They took the time to listen, and in spite of my newness to cycling, took me and my issues seriously. Matt was enthusiastic about our return to the sport he loves, and encouraged us in out efforts to stay active. He was non-judgmental about my newness to the sport, my age or body shape, just really helpful and kind. In the end Matt's help is allowing me to comfortably ride, which means I will keep cycling! The difference for me is night and day! Starting anything new can be a little uncomfortable at times, so it is a great help to know that there is a place to go for high quality equipment, respectful and friendly service, and solid information. In addition to the saddle and shorts, we purchased several other items that will add to a positive riding experience for us. Great shop! Great staff! First time customer at this location and the customer service was rude and disrespectful, did not complete the work I asked for, called the bike "junk" and said I should take it back to the store for a refund, they damaged parts that worked correctly before I brought the bike in and tried to cover it with explanations I knew for a fact were not true. Tried charging me extra for minor things that were part of the original service. Demanded it needed a $90 maintenance on it when I already had that done two weeks before at another store. Absolutely do NOT recommend this store! read more
