This place is super cute and super clean and the AC was blowing cold. Our waitress was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The food was all homemade and absolutely delicious. I had a green chile burger and my husband had a chicken fried steak. The price was very reasonable. We will definitely be back. read more

Passing through town on a road trip from Colorado to Houston. I found this place online. I had a rib eye steak with sautéed mushrooms, French fries, and okra. The steak was very tender and cooked perfectly and the sautéed mushrooms were a perfect accompaniment. Fried okra was crispy and on point. Fries were a bit greasy and flabby - I like crispy. Beer was cold and service was friendly and prompt. Overall an excellent meal for a roadhouse dinner. If in Childress I would definitely recommend. read more

We were driving pass Childress, this was the restaurant still open at the time. Based on the existing good review we went there. We are very pleased with the food. The catfish was very tender, juicy and fresh. The steak was cooked perfectly, it was also a good cut of meat, very tender and juicy too. I'd say better than lots of steak house. So if you are driving pass Childress, go there to get a bite. You won't regret it. read more

First, hats off to the owner. Struggling in the current economy to stay open. We had the Philly steak sandwich- tender, excellently seasoned meat, Swiss cheese, and added mushrooms. Also, the catfish po-boy- A nice sized filet fried in well seasoned cornmeal batter. Both sandwiches served in hoagie roll with lettuce and tomato Fries were " homemade ". Our server/owner took our order, cooked the food and served us. She is also the cashier, and I fear, the dishwasher too. Yes, she has some help, but finding people willing to work is a problem not just confined to Childress. Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, friendly faces. Other than fast food places, there's not many restaurants from which to choose in Childress. We made the right call by stopping here. We sat at the bar where the proprietor was serving and had a nice chat between orders. The menu is abbreviated compared to earlier reviews. This, she explained, is due to lack of available staff. We opted to split the green chili burger between the two of us and it was great and made us wish we had each ordered one. The hand cut fries that came with it were good. We could have subbed for the salad bar, but we were satisfied with our choice. The mixed drinks were made just like we like them and we're reasonably priced. The restrooms were clean. Nice, friendly atmosphere. We'll stop here again next time we come through. read more

Stopped here on my way up to Denver from Johnson City. I had the Chicken Fried Steak while my Dad had a Cheese Burger. We both thought it was pretty good; I especially liked the atmosphere. It's pretty clean and well taken care of. Service was great too; food came out pretty quick although granted it wasn't super busy since we came on a Thursday night. Never know when I'll ever be back in town but if so, I'll be sure to stop by again. read more

The good is great, service is excellent and the ambiance is laid back! We took our toddlers in on our long drive home and after being in the car for 5 hours they had a chance to play pool and move around without anyone scowling at us! There is nothing fancy about this place but the food is delicious. After 12 hours on the road we were ready to park and enjoy a good meal and we were not disappointed. Nina was our server and she could not have been friendlier or more helpful. My wife wanted lemonade but it was not on the menu so Nina fixed her freshed-sqeezed lemonade using a lemon used to make drinks from the bar! My wife got the chicken tenders and I got the hamburger steak. Very good and the portions were generous. Stay away from the fast food joints and enjoy a great meal with a small town atmosphere at fast food prices. read more
