They have a new system of controlling traffic but it's making their wait times far worse. I spent almost 45 minutes waiting for corn in a cup and cucumbers. And they way they puzzle you in you can't get out so you're essentially stuck and trapped. It makes no sense actually. I had to make one more stop after this that I now can't make bc they are closed. It's snacks... they have to find a more efficient way to do this or move to a bigger space. My latest obsession is snow cones. When it is consistently 95+ degrees outside, I need a cool treat. I was down in Richmond doing my civic duty by going to jury duty and when I was finally released, I needed some sugar to wake back up! I used my trusty Yelp app and found Gabby's Snow Cones. I LOVE that this place has a drive through. I opted to go inside so I could fully check out the little storefront. I watched the single worker hustle around fulfilling orders at lightning speed. She was getting snow cones ready for a drive through car. I watched her make some type of margarita snow cone with salt on top. They definitely have some unique combinations here. I also watched her make some "insane cheetohs". I was mesmerized by the process. She took some hot cheetohs, opened them, and then squirted hot molten cheese into the bag. Then she went to the fridge and spooned relish into the bag. Bizarre, but they are a big seller! I opted for a large cheery and strawberry snow cone. The ice is heaped on top and plenty of syrup is added. Even though my picture may not show how much syrup is present, trust me, she doesn't skimp. This place also offers a bunch of snacks like frito pies, chips, nachos, pickles, cheesecake, ice cream floats, and more... Really tried to give them a chance. They changed how they take orders and we waited for 40 minutes for one snowcone. They ended up taking the order for the person behind us (and bringing it). We went and told the lady and as my husband was walking away she made a face at him and laughed. Not great customer service. We will just go to Sandy's or Chill-out instead. Gabby's CHARGES TAX IN ADDITION TO PRICES LISTED. (This is important to note as most stands list their final prices so what you see is what you pay) OVERCHARGED? I was charged $7.21 for a sunday ($3) and a large snowball with cream ($2.75+$0.50). Even with Texas tax (.0825) my total should have been $6.77. Why was I charged $0.44 extra? I was unable to reach Gabby's by phone but hopefully they get back to me if this is a misunderstanding. PRODUCTS : - SUNDAYS: $3 for 2 hallow scoops of vanilla with a sprinkle of chocolate sauce (not fudge) and a spritz of caramel? I could have gone to the Soda Fountain down the street and got a bigger better serving for that PRICE. - SNOWBALLS: I like the texture of their shaved ice (new orleans style) but their peach flavor tasted watered down and before you think "well it IS a snowcone Courtney.." I would like to add that I always take a bite right when I get it because that's just what you do. And even after eating past the peak, the flavor remained watered down. I had this experience last time I went too. It could just be the peach. EXTRAS: $0.50 for cream added just to the top of a large snowball?! I have been robbed! At least Sandy's gives you cream inside the snowball as well before adding the peak. Due to this being the 2nd time I've visited, the overcharge on my bill, and the fact that tax is not included in the listed prices I will not be returning nor recommending Gabby's to anyone. I was introduced to Gabby's from a friend who lives in the area, and have been back multiple times. It's the perfect treat to cool you down in the scorching Texas summer heat. You walk into a humble space, and greeted by a very approachable team or even the amazing Gabby herself! She's as sweet as her treats. Gabby sells the whole experience. I have never been disappointed at Gabby's , their snow cones are delicious and there's so many flavors to choose from, and the portions are perfect. Along with all the amazing flavors you can choose from, or mix and match, you can also add toppings like Mexican candy, chamoy, pickles, cream, tajin, etc. Besides snow cones Gabbys offers a range of amazing Mexican snacks to pair with your snow cone. Some of the snacks they offer include corn in a cup, kool aid pickles, candied apples , nachos, fruit cups. Sour cucumbers, shrimp snacks, frito pies and more. Gabbys also sells Mexican candies that you can't just go buy at any gas station which I love. If snow cones and candy aren't your favorite and you're over 21 they are also great options for you. Some include micheladas , preparadas ( fruit in a cup w flavored drink , candy and chamoy) , daiquiris and volcano shots. When it comes to options , Gabbys is not lacking, there's so many things to choose from and something for everyone. The best part about it all is that it is very affordable , starting at $1.25 for a small snow cone and 2.76 for an extra large one. I've been to plenty of snow cone places but no one does it quite like Gabbys. The service is always amazing and the line goes by pretty quickly. Although it isn't very close to my house , I will always make the drive specifically to Gabbys for my snow cone. Even if you don't order candy with your snow cone you will always get a lifesaver gummy around your straw , which I love. If you have children or like snow cones yourself, you should definitely come by Gabbys this summer and get your family some sweet treats to cool down to. There is only one location and it is in Rosenberg. Having only one small location makes it even more worthwhile for me and I am happy to support this small business. The concoctions are so creative and fun flavors to play around with, ranging from mangonada snow cones with mango pieces inside to horchata flavor snow cones and drinks. Gabbys has it all and I totally recommend them as a go to this summer. It will not disappoint. If you're not a big fan of snow cones, don't worry they offer the best banana splits and sundaes as well. There is something for everyone in your family. We came to Rosenberg for a shoot with Heather Armijo photography and went looking for a post photo shoot treat. Stumbled upon this place (thanks Yelp) and headed over on a rainy Sunday, unsure if they'd be open. We drove past it at first but saw it on our way back by. They have a very small area where you can order inside, I take it most people go through the drive thru. The weather kept people away so there was only 1 other person in front of us ordering inside. The staff was very for friendly, a few people were working the drive thru window, making snowballs and chopping fruit. You end up waiting for the person ahead of you to actually get their order and pay before you're helped. Given that it was only us waiting, it was no big deal. When they're slammed though, I bet that can be tricky. Anyways - snowballs, NOLA style. Soft and melt in your mouth. No crunchy tooth breaking crystals here - it's like eating a pillow of ice. Flavors were on point. We had 6 between us and all were just the right balance of sweet and fruity. We ordered 2 speciality: ultimate cheesecake and tropical ?something? I'd commit some serious crimes for another ultimate cheesecake. Chamoy on everything was a close 2nd to their cheesecake masterpiece. Fruit was all fresh and perfectly chopped into bite sizes. Service - best service I've ever had at one of these places. They take their time so you wait a bit for a superior product, WORTH IT. The girls there today were so sweet. I was always a big fan of gabby's and it's always one of my cravings, when I had recently went inside and placed my order I decided to look at how they were making the stuff. When I was observing none of the girls were wearing gloves or washing their hands. I watched one of the girls wipe off 2 spoons and put them back into the clean spoon area. There were straws with candy on it just laying on the counter. I didn't see any boxes of gloves around or a sanitizer bucket. Very unsanitary I'm glad I went in because through the drive thru you can't see anything. I asked for a refund and they understood and gave it. But when we left they still didn't put gloves on and continued working like what we brought up meant nothing. I will not be returning and I just wanted to let people know my experience. read more

UGH. Gabby, why are you so far?!? I'd be coming here a lot more if I didn't live so far. Luckily I do have a few patients in the area, so I can drop by every once in a while for a treat. Also one of my closest friends doesn't live far from here, so we usually stop by Gabby's whenever I come over to his place. There's really so much I can say, but I'd like to keep it short and sweet. Gabby has the best snow cones..way better than any mainstream establishments like B*h*m* B*cks. There are tons of flavors and creative concoctions, my favorite being the Mangonada. That sour, spicy, salty chamoy and chili adds a kick that breaks through and perfectly compliments the mango flavored syrup. The horchata with ice cream is also just...it brings out the kid in you. Also the Lifesaver gummy on the straws is always a cute little addition. Gabby herself is an absolute sweetheart. She's cute, cool, and really just knows how to treat her customers right. I admire her for being ambitious and taking on her own business, and one that is so good at that. This snow cone stand is nestled in the corner of another establishment and can be pretty easy to miss. There's a drive-thru which I think is very neat and convenient, although I've never used it myself. There is some seating outside for you and your friends to enjoy your snow cones on a scalding Houston day. Inside is pretty humble but very lively, and there is a small area to sit while waiting for your snow cone.
