The service was great. But unfortunately the food was subpar. The patty melt is very small and comes on toasted marble rye bread with a side of fries for $13.75, for the size of the patty melt I wouldn't get it. Then the Texas cheesesteak and fries- came on a single hot dog bun cut in half, asked for extra cheese on it and couldn't even tell if there was any cheese at all, this to was $13.75, not worth the price. Now the soda, ice cream, drinks were great. But they are a bit pricey as well. For a soda with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream was $8.25. In all the restaurants is cozy and very cold (take a jacket). The safe or server was very friendly. Any question we had they was answered. Also make sure to carry cash with you. They will charge you 3% to use your card. The say third time is a charm! Not in this case! We had visitors from Michigan an Aunt, a cousin and his wife. We wanted to take them to Another Time Soda Fountain restaurant. Hadn't been there in a while because of the food! But they posted a new cook in the kitchen so thought we try it out! My wife and I were hoping for the best, but it didn't happen! My wife ordered a sugar free lemonade, my aunt and I ordered a lime malt shake, my cousin ordered a chocolate banana shake and his wife ordered the strawberry banana shake! Well the lime malt shake really had no lime flavor. All you tasted was the malt! Everyone else drinks were good! Then we ordered our lunches! My wife ordered chicken fingers and sweet potato fries! My cousin and his wife Ora club sandwich on rye and was told the only have white or wheat for the order! The wanted to split the sandwich and chips in half to share and they did! My aunt ordered the 2 chili hot dogs with fries. I ordered the patty melt with fries! Well my wife chicken tenders were good but the sweet potatoes were barely warm! Strike One! My cousin and his wife got the Club with chips and 2 baskets so the could share! But the Club wasn't a traditional club it was just a 2 slice wheat bread sandwich! No 3rd slice of bread in between! Second Strike! My Aunt 2 coney dogs were good and also the fries were good! A Ball! I got my patty melt on marble rye, a hamburger patty that was very dry! Not many grilled onions on the first half of the sandwich and cheese on it(why) but no Thousand Island Dressing! So I ask why there was no Thousand Island's Dressing and was told they don't put that on their Patty melts! Strike Three! Very disappointed and a little embarrassed with the food and the choice of going there! Needless to say we won't recommend this place and be coming back here again! On our way to Sugar Land, we made a pit stop for lunch. Randomly found this spot on Google maps and thought we'd give it a shot. Walked in and we were immediately seated. The place was definitely busy for 2pm-ish, and was a tad noisy from all the folks talking. Was not unbearable tho. We ordered chicken tenders, blt, and a burger w/onion rings. Everything was absolutely delicious. And there was nothing left behind. We were too full to have dessert, however I do wish we would have. Maybe on our next trip down yonder we will stop just for dessert. read more

Went here with a friend after exploring the antique stores all along the street and it's a really cute place! When you step into the place it feels like you stepped into a retro soda shop just like the name implies! The food itself was okay,I got the tenders while my friend got the club sandwich. The service was really good, workers were friendly and nice. The main draw of this place is definitely the desserts though. I got the hot fudge sundae and my friend got the single scoop ice cream. Only downside to this place is that it closes at 5pm just like the surrounding shops, but other than that great place. Nice place to end your day after exploring the Rosenberg area! read more

This is my 3rd time visiting. The menu is very small and delicious they do blue plate specials which happened to be pot roast today. I got chicken tenders and an adult grilled cheese. The dessert seems to be everyone's go to I just couldn't find my self to order after all the food! Most of my issues here are out of personal preference since I've worked at restaurants. Paper thin napkins that tear when damp and hardly absorb anything. The chicken tenders breading was so hard parts were inedible and the chicken inside was dry and crusted. Our server was really nice and the service was attentive which really saved the place. Again person preference- I prefer my lettuce cut where the entire piece doesn't come out when you take a bite and that's not what happened here. The bun was soggy and the whole thing fell to pieces with every bite. The salads might have been tasty but it looks like the kind of salad a little kid would make their mom for lunch. Lunch meat and cheese cut in strips on top of lettuce ... just bland and boring. I think there's lots of cool food from the past that can be remade into fun, exciting, and tasty dishes. This seems like a replication of being in the great depression when you couldn't afford nice food. The hand made sodas are clever but if you don't watch them make it I don't see the fun...the sodas were as flat as can be compared to a typical canned soda you'd have. Then you have to stir in the syrup which just deflates it more. The building reminds me of an old western restaurant I worked at not really a nice soda/ice cream bar from the 20s. I think mismatched tables and chairs and cluttered decor make this place seem like a historic landmark or a my grandmas craft closet more than a soda shop. Overall it's not the worst place I've ever been but for 13$...I'd rather have a burger from Whataburger and get a soda from a fountain. read more

I would highly recommend this joint in Richmond for families w young kids as it's a good casual restaurant w kid friendly menu. After enjoying the train museum across the street we settled down with our younger 2 in here around prime lunchtime on a Sat. The restaurant is aptly named as the decor and menu are definitely reminiscent of the 50s diner in a good way. I tried the chili dogs and my husband had the Texas cheese steak. Both meals were yummy if not particularly unique and the kids had their (generously portioned and fresh) kids meals. This was our second time coming and I would say I enjoyed this meal over the chicken salad sandwich I had the first time. Don't forget the desserts either. They can split their milkshakes 4 ways which we did the first time and loved-perfectly sized portion for 1. This time we split the brownie sundae and it was highly enjoyed by all of us. Both times the service was very slow, although the waitresses are sweet. Waited over 20-30 min just for kids meals which actually came out w our food. This was after a 20 min wait to place in orders. Likely the best place to eat in downtown. Right across the street from the Railroad museum, the perfect treat after a tour. The sandwiches are divine, and the bacon makes every thing better! The BLT was delicious and the onion rings have perfect batter. As for the shakes, sodas, and treats, these guys are amazing. The phosphates are made in the old fashioned way and the milk shakes are generous. I don't usually comment on bathrooms unless they are bad, but the facilities here are immaculate. What a great place! I discovered this place accidentally while taking pictures of some cool murals I had seen this earlier. Great presentation of the trio salad (fried chicken salad; tuna salad and fruit salad). Delicious! Whipped cream fluff for the fruit. Oh my! To be at a Soda Fountain and not get a soda or float would be sacrilege! I've had floats growing up but I did not know the difference between a ice cream float and an ice cream soda. Living on the edge, I tried the Strawberry Ice Cream Soda (strawberry topping, ice cream, carbonated water). It sounds strange but WOW! You only live once and What a treat! Thumbs Up! The food was good but rated B/B+. It's old fashion right out of the late 50s. Waitress were good but busy. This is an ice cream shop and they have old fashion hamburgers and hotdogs. We're talking an understanding of the older ice cream fashions, like chocolate sodas or malts. Been here several times and it's good but has unusual hours. A number of older toys are displayed, like high wire moving toys which are overhead, right out of the 50s. Usually there's the "blue" plate special. These are great balanced meals ( right out of the 50s/ 60s). The ambiance was right out of the 50s/ 60s which modern kids don't get. A checker board floor and ice cream bar. I've watched serval children absolutely bored waiting for the ice cream. The grand parents would try to engage them in conversation about the "old times" without the kid's comprehension. The grand parents were trying to explain what life was during thier youth. Typically, it was boring to the child. "You mean you didn't have a cell phone?" Did you live in a third world country. However, it's a great place to take seniors and antiquers. There are a number of antique shops around and the railroad museum. It's a culture that the kids typical don't get. History is not in most kids past, and when the grand parents tell them about hauling drinking water or growing their own food. That conversion is lost. I'm thankful for shop, but have to wonder how long we will have this shop. How unfortunate! The price was a little expensive but well worth it. Especially the ice cream confections. Man I had absolutely zero complaints about this place. Came here and was immediately seated at the bar (per our request because we were in a hurry). I got a cream soda (although it's not on the menu). They simply got me a soda and added vanilla syrup. They were quick and provided great service. The old-fashioned feel of the place is obvious and lovely. Also tried their sweet potato fries, which tasted superb. Parking is plentiful right out in front off the road. There isn't a designated parking lot per say, but there's a row of slanted parking spots right there. Their sodas are great. Service is wonderful. Ambience is pleasant. Come here!! read more

I had no idea such a cute little old fashioned themed cafe existed in Rosenberg, but then again, this was only my second time in Richmond/Rosenberg (once for jury duty). The place gets busy, the service is a bit slow, but overall I enjoyed my experience here. Prices are about right. The fried chicken tenders sandwich ($8.50) was good and quite large. The onion rings were very good! The reuben was smaller than I expected for $7 and the two people who split it were still hungry, but none of us wanted to wait to order more food since everything moves slowly here. The vanilla and chocolate cokes made some of the older people at our table nostalgic. The brownie sundae was just ok and it took forever to get our coffees. Summary: cute place, slow service, decent food, definitely worth a stop if you aren't in a hurry. read more

Across the street is a railroad museum, another corner has an antique store, and a giant green space with murals for photos! Another Time is a neat old diner / soda fountain, especially in terms of atmosphere/décor. Unfortunately, at least on occasion, service is extremely slow and poor. On our most recent visit, we waited an hour or more for extremely basic food items, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. Food was okay; not impressive, not horrible. If you're expecting quick service, look elsewhere. If you're okay waiting awhile for food, it's an okay place to spend time with family. read more

I ordered the chef salad I definitely would recommend you order something else the salad was definitely not what I excepted it, it was like if a child put it together plate presentation was poor.
