The bar is actually really cool because the countertop is full of coins from one end all the way to the other! Haven't seen anything like it before so that was pretty neat. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich- as you can see from the picture, he enjoyed every bite! I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of bacon. The chicken was thick and juicy, just how we like it, and the powdered sugar with strawberries on top really held that nice, sweet and savory fix I needed! Heard about this place just from googling local places. We met a friend on a Friday afternoon for drinks and an early dinner. Shared the Fish and Chips Special. Was very good. Our friend had a burger and said it was very good. I drank beer, which was cold and our server kept them coming which was great! Would go back for the fish and chips! We then went especially on a Wednesday to have the Chicken Pot Pie special. It was served in a bowl type (very large mug) with a big croissant type bread sitting on top. Have never seen it this way so we were kinda surprised. It was not terrible but won't order it again. It came wth a very large side salad. Also ordered a cup of the potato soup. Very cute place! Our server was Marvin and he was so sweet and professional! We had a bonfire burger and it was so good with the potato bun! My only thing was that the fries tasted they were fried in old oil. We also had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was a bit dry but it was such a nice and simple meal, we ate everything!! The hamburgers are ok, think upscale burgers with edible flowers on top. Personally I prefer just a good 'ol juicy hamburger. Their bacon is hard as a rock to the point that I can't eat it. We tried their crab cakes. The crab smelled horrible and the crab cakes were very soggy. I have had crab cakes several times in my life, but they were always crispy. To be able to sit at a soda fountain and have soda jerks serve you is a pleasure and in this particular case, it really is rather pleasant to look out the window and see trains passing by a reminder of yesterday year. In our particular case we had milkshakes and frankly the serving is absolutely wonderful and the flavor in my case of chocolate malt was absolutely incredible. The servers are really quite lovely people. Very efficient. Very pleasant to deal with the service and ambience make this restaurant well worth visiting however, I must tell you if you have a sweet tooth then you have every reason to make a trip here. My family and I were reading the reviews and visiting Rosenberg, we had to try it out! Unfortunately, we had a different experience when coming here in comparison to the last few reviews. I really hate to leave anything less than a 4 star, but I'm going off of my experience. There was only 3 other tables seated when we came in and most were already eating. We were very excited as the food looked great. I ordered the chicken BLT wrap, my mom ordered the regular BLT and my dad ordered the hot pastrami sandwich. I decided to get the side house with honey mustard, my dad ordered the Cesar salad and my mom got their home style fries. We waited on our sandwiches for over 40 minutes. Alas, our food finally comes! Although, my chicken was very burnt and dry. Their honey mustard was just not good. I couldn't eat the entire thing. My mom's BLT had bacon that was just only soggy fat and the fries were super soggy. My dad liked the Cesar salad but said the jalapeño aoli tasted like thousand island. Almost sweet! Altogether, we were super disappointed by our lunch we were so looking forward to. The place is all around an awesome vibe. Located walking distance from the railroad museum. Sunday Brunch is pretty packed at this quaint little spot in Rosenberg. And for good reason. The food is really good, great portions, and wonderful service. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, so they took our phone # and texted us when we should return. It gave us ample time to check out some of the antique shops in the area. Note that if you don't like sharing tables with people, this place may not be your cup of tea, since they do have patrons share the large tables "family style" to accommodate all the guests. I had the philly cheesesteak and fries. They cut all the fries in house from real potatoes! Go figure.... not frozen fries. Sadly we use to love coming here, however it's just too packed inside now. Every-time we wanted to leave the table people would have to get up or move their chairs, which was awful. Just passing through Rosenberg to go to a nursery and decided we wanted a late lunch/early dinner before heading home. Found Ol Raulroad Cafe on Yelp and decided to go check it out. Looks to be in the downtown area of Rosenberg, in an old brick building. It's called Ol Railroad Cafe cause there's a railroad track right next door; we actually heard the train passing through while we were in the area. We came around 4-4:30ish so there wasn't anyone in the restaurant during the non-peak hours. We didn't mind at all cause of Covid - it was actually the best case scenario for us, though the server and chef that personally brought out our food didn't care to be masked. I guess the restaurant doesn't have a mask policy for staff. This wasn't so bad since they didn't hover around the table much. Staff was friendly otherwise. The food was pretty good! I got the Hobo burger - you can taste that it was hand pressed and made in-house. Flavors were spot on and the patty seasoned and cooked well. So were the fresh cut fries. Reuben was as expected. Only wish was they brought us the dinner menu instead of the lunch menu cause the party next to us ordered some soup and I heard fried Mac and cheese balls!!! Maybe next time!
