I was installing a new smart lock, but wanted to keep the old lock cylinder as it was keyed to the rest of the house with a Mul T lock. Everything fit fine, but the tail was a different size. Realizing that I could not simply swap out tails from the old cylinder to the other, I gave Gabriel a call. He asked to send him a picture and confirmed compatibility. I hired Gabriel to change the locks on our new home a few months ago. He was smart and professional. He expressed concern about my existing locks and I thought he was simply trying to upsell me. He then explained to my satisfaction why the locking system he was offering was superior. I have an undergraduate degree in Engineering so I am not easy to fool and not easily put off. In spite of the fact that I was convinced his proposed locks were better, they were still out of my price range. I told him this and after some thought, he worked out a plan where by using my old locks on some doors and disabling them I could achieve the same heightened security and buy fewer locks. I was sold. I went with better locks and my house it more secure. But that is not all. During the recent rains, I noticed that one of the locks was not functioning properly. I called Gabriel and in spite of being on vacation, he talked me through some possible fixes. When they did not work he set an appointment to come to my house as soon as he could. He came today, identified the problem immediately explained it and showed me the damaged parts. He then fixed it charging me his minimum fee for work and the price of the parts. I put in for a service quote request with yelp. Gabriel Lock & Key was the first to respond (within a minute), asking that I give him a call. I told Gabriel that I needed the dead bolts and door knobs to be changed on my front door and garage side door and that I had already purchased Kwikset smart locks/combination type sets for both doors. Gabriel immediately said to return them, and not in a suggestive way. He proceeded to text me a link to his youtube video where he breaks a kwikset lock open with a force tool. I saw the video and called him back wanting to proceed with the installation of the kwikset locks. Gabriel wasn't happy about that and insisted that I return it and instead go with a different smart/combo system that he had in stock which was really too expensive for me. He told me that if I wanted to save money I shouldn't be doing smart/combo locks. Regardless, I really needed to get the installation done and wanted to move forward with the work. The irritated Gabriel then said he was completely booked for the next few weeks anyway and wouldn't be able to help me? But then he was the first to reach out? I ended up buying a dewalt door lock installation kit and doing the work myself. 1.5 years later, the Kwikset door locks are still excellent and running on the same batteries. read more

Gabriel responds to a call referral be another locksmith shop. My front door lock was stuck and needed maintenance or replacement. He spent roughly about an hour and the work appear completed. After the hour and $ 267.0 he left. A week later the problem came back, locking or unlocking the door was difficult. In my view the whole thing was a sham.
