Excellent service from Kris today. My garage door's tension strings broke last night. Of the 3 companies I called, only Boulevard Garage doors picked up the phone. They got me a next day appointment and Kris came to our rescue. He was incredibly knowledgable in his trade and very friendly too. He diagnosed the issue quickly, explaining the 4 existing tension springs which were installed at separate times were not bearing weight evenly, which caused the break. He went on to replace the tension springs, and also repaired and reinforced a sagging portion of the garage door. The door runs smoother now than it ever has. I am so happy this is the place that answered when I was calling around trying to find a garage door repair over the weekend. My spouse accidentally reversed into our door causing both sides to go off track and dents in the top and bottom. When I called they had someone available to come out within just a few hours to give a free diagnosis and then estimate for repair. We were worried we were going to have to buy a new door and it would cost thousands. The guy arrived on time and took a quick look and then said he could fix it right then. It was only a few hundred to get the door working again, and then he recommended replacing the top and bottom bars which were dented and that was only a bit more. He also was able to hammer out the dents in the panels pretty good. Overall it only took under an hour and half a grand and our door is back to like it was before. I am renting my home and when my tenant called me and said the garage door hinges were making some weird sounds, I decided to call a professional company to come and look at it since the system was really old and being a mechanical engineer, I already tried fixing it in the past. I did my homework, searched online, and Boulevard Doors appeared to have what I wanted so I decided to give them a try. I spoke with Joshua and he said Kris will come out to review the issue and provide an estimate. The timing was perfect because when I opened the garage door the bracket slipped and the door was jammed. Kris knew exactly what happened and didn't try to upsell me on anything. He explained all my options, from a completely new door/system to replacing the hinges. Since I was on a budget, I opted for just getting the hinges replaced. But the thing that got me was Kris' super friendly demeanor. He was really informative and patient with all my questions. As mentioned, being a mechanical engineer, I like knowing how things operate. He helped me to get the door unstuck and closed and proceeded to quote the work. I then scheduled a day for the repair. When the day came for the repair I met Kris and I asked if I could hang around and understand what was going on. He said no problem and I was mindful to not get in the way. As it turned out, it was a masterclass in garage door replacement. Kris proceeded to show me how he removed the hinges, how to install the new ones and then how they could be adjusted. I received approx. 6-7 quotes for my garage door work -- which included removal of our original wood door (manual open) and conversion to new automatic garage door -- and went with Blvd Garage based on their expertise and quality materials. Richard arrived to quote the job and he impressed me with his knowledge of products but also what could and couldn't be accomplished within our small space. Richard was the first (and only rep) to educate me on the type of motor that would be needed for our space -- which meant the removal of a wall cabinet and need for a closer electrical outlet. We have been having chronic issues with two of our garage door openers that were just installed within the last few years. Despite multiple attempts by the installers, we were still having recurring issues. Finally, we decided to call Boulevard Garage Doors based on the great reviews. I was especially thrilled when they dispatched Valentino since he was mentioned in many great reviews. Valentino identified faulty installation with the garage door where the cable (side opener) would come off randomly every year or so. With the other garage door opener, it was determined to be a manufacturer issue, and after many long calls to Liftmaster customer service, my husband was able to get a replacement approved. Valentino helped us uninstall it, swap for the replacement, and install the new opener. So far so good. The fact that Valentino found issues that the installer company didn't (after two visits!!) speaks volumes. I would highly recommend Boulevard, especially Valentino. read more
