I just checked with Michigan roofing codes and there is no such change in layers. Double layer is acceptable in all Michigan cities. I also checked Go To Roofing for verbiage. Posted on their site shows they do double layer roofing. I don't like being conned. I believed rep as being trustworthy. I did have an option but it wasn't given to me. I called roofing due to possible leak in upstairs back bedroom.

Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. They even gave us a senior discount, which we were not expecting. Their requested deposit wasn't a lot of money. They have an easy way to pay by e-check, or by credit card online. Well they also have a $500 NON REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE. Of course they don't tell you until after you sign!! We agreed on a type of style /color and apparently my insurance didn't cover it. Did anyone check since they claimed to work with Insurance? nope Did he return the style while on the phone with my insurance and myself the homeowner to prevent a hiccup along the way? NOPE, he said we'll deduct the difference... did we ever receive a difference ? NOPE Yes, it was the "owner" who conveyed the issue after realizing. THE OWNER THREATENED ME THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE REST AND THAT I WAS HOLDING BACK THE CHECK ( I HAD TO WAIT TO GET MAILED OUT TO ME FROM THE INSURANCE) The owner is very good at calling your insurance to see if the check was mailed out but won't do his job when it comes to invoice issues and discrepancy. I trusted a sales rep whose work duration there was only two weeks as he was no longer employed. That should show you how long their employees stay with them.

Follow-up does not happen as promised. One morning prior to 7 a.m., I was awakened to the sound of my dogs barking insistently, only to find a truck full of building materials, and three strange men walking around my lawn. The owners son had forgotten to tell me materials would be delivered. The actual workers get 5 stars. The owner and son have earned one star. Thus, the average of 3 stars for this review. They were polite, timely, meticulously clean. They worked from sun up to sun down, barely taking any break. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I found the owners son to be quite difficult. This includes a remark that the son made about his (Mexican) workers that was quite derogatory and I was offended. After the work was completed, I had a gusher of a leak in the sunroom late one evening after the first rain. I called the next morning and was told they would come to repair the damages mid morning the following day. They failed to call or show up. I got up on a ladder and took photos, shocked by the sloppy workmanship I discovered. When I called the following day to inquire, I was rudely treated. I told the owner NOT to send the son back to my property. The following day the son arrived. I am now told that they have corrected the deficiencies, however I have zero confidence in these folks. I am considering paying a second company to do a full inspection to provide assurance that there are no more leaks and I will not have trouble down the road. Photos will be posted.

Instead of replacing all the windows around the house like all the window selling people are telling us, Rob offered to fix the windows for a much better pricing. We are so happy with the result we asked them to remodel our three bathrooms. Again, their quote was better than the other 8 companies we compared with. Their timing and flexibility was better as well! Throughout the process of bathroom remodeling, they were extremely helpful, accommodating and easy to work with. From picking tiles and helping us with the pickup (usually pretty expensive), to going out of their ways to seal cracks for us on the wall and hanging paintings for my mom. They even offered to walk my dog when they were working with us. They are excellent at what they do. See images for the before and after of the bathrooms. We love our 3 bathrooms now. They were able to accommodate everything we asked them too. Including changing old electric outlets, adding a shower in the guest bathroom, and switching the vent to a heated vent. They even helped to fix my kitchen sink that a plumber failed after trying for 3 days! They are also honest people. I did notice a cracked window and Rob immediately ordered a new one and covered the cost. So they do honor their warranty on their work. Overall, would highly recommend them for their excellent work, very fair pricing, and being such good nature people!

After getting estimates from 6 roofing companies to replace our roof, we narrowed our selection to…read moretwo firms. After carefully evaluating the merits of each, including reading Yelp and other reviews, we ended up selecting Rapid Roofing to do the work, even though they were not the cheapest. They were chosen because of the warranty they were able to provide (GAF Golden Pledge), provided a discount on the middle tier shingle due to a promotion that was in effect at the time, and because of interactions with Lee Ehlers, their Sales Consultant, who did an excellent job explaining what we should expect to happen before, during and after the installation. On installation day, the roofing crew arrived on time, and did a great job protecting the outside (i.e., landscaping, whole home generator, central AC unit, windows, etc.) from flying shingles and other debris. Onsite foreman, Josiah, did a top notch job in supervising the roofing crew resulting in the work being done within 8 hours. We found very few nails on the ground and no other debris when they left, so they did a good job of cleaning up afterward. Additionally, even though a few window screens were damaged during the tear off process, Josiah had them replaced within 48 hours. About 2 months after the installation, we noticed siding around the chimney was damaged and called Rapid Roofing to address. Dale Climer, their Service Manager, ensured our concerns were addressed, which were cosmetic (caused no leaking) and the siding was replaced in a timely manner. Everyone at Rapid Roofing was very professional to work with including the roofing crew, and our overall experience has been excellent. We highly recommend Rapid Roofing to handle your roofing needs!

Every interaction we had with the company was positive. From the salesman, to the office staff, to the installers every interaction was positive. After contracting with them, I had several phone conversations with them about color changes that my wife wanted, and they were always willing to accommodate us, and make the requested changes. There was a slight misunderstanding about the bathroom window on the day they showed up to begin the job but a phone call to the office quickly resolved the issue, and things progressed as planned. The workers were polite, and they treated our property with care & respect. Once the job was complete, they walked the perimeter of our house and garage with magnets to pick up loose pieces of metal, and any other debris that was laying around. Overall, their cleanup was on point. We've received a number of compliments from our neighbors on the work that was completed, and one of our neighbors contracted with Modern Xterior/The Modern Pros as a result of the work they did on our house. It's now been a year since the work was completed, and everything is holding together nicely, and still looks great! You can never get a live person on the phone and no one is ever present at the building. Only new customers interested in new jobs who don't know his reputation get phone calls returned. Beware of this crook! He cost me big money and I had to have a whole new roof installed by Hanson's after paying him!
