Donna took one look at my face and said, "I have the perfect dress for you." I'm between 12-14 and am working through some insecurities, so when she said that, I said "yeah, right." Donna told me I deserved to feel delicious in my dress, so I tried it on. My God. I looked and felt like a mermaid Goddess. The dress is a beautiful mermaid/trumpet style gown that hugged my curves in all the right places (I'll update with pictures soon!). It was affordable and very well-made. Normally, I would've walked right by it. Thank God I listened to Donna's advice. She is honest, smart, so so stylish, and she sees and celebrates the beauty of everyone who walks into her boutique. I was shopping for my wedding dress and evidently they keep all the dresses (let's be honest, they probably have a laughably small selection) on the second floor and costumers are not allowed up there. So when I asked what the process was of learning what dresses they have, she gave me the most condenscending look and the poorest attitude. It was so shocking and appalling---all I was doing was trying to give them business, why we're they treating me so horribly? Little did this salesgirl know, I know a number of people who have shopped at this store previously and since hearing about this they have all pledged never to spend another dollar there. To anyone considering shopping here: not worth your time (such a small selection of items and the store was poorly set up) and be prepared for truly shocking customer service (or lack thereof).

My initial reason for booking an appointment here was because I have been gawking over Inbal Dror wedding dresses months before I got engaged and found out that The Wedding Shoppe carries her gowns. Let's be honest, those dresses cost an arm and a leg, but I knew I would not be able to find 'the one' without trying on an Inbal Dror and getting it out of my system. Donna was my consultant for the appointment and she made me feel like an absolute princess. After talking with me about some different styles similar to Inbal Dror we started trying them on and I fell in love with pretty much every single one she chose for me. Long story short, by the time we got to the section of Dror gowns I was in heaven and low and behold I ended up buying the exact dress I tried on. Donna was so patient and let me try the dress on 3 times and I went over my appointment by almost 2 hours. I am so happy I chose my dress from The Wedding Shoppe and have had several fittings leading up to my wedding in May. Ziba has been my seamstress and has been making the alterations exactly (if not better) than how we discuss during our appointments. Donna has been a part of each fitting as well, making sure everything is perfect for me. When comparing my experience to other bridal salons, The Wedding Shoppe blows them all out of the water. I never felt rushed along or forced into a decision or felt like I was holding anyone up, which is probably the worst way to shop for a wedding dress as a bride-to-be. During my appointment, the consultant repeatedly interrupted my mother while she was trying to ask simple questions about the dresses. When I expressed that I wanted a few moments to step back, talk with my mom, and think about a gown I genuinely loved, her demeanor shifted noticeably. Instead of being supportive during what should be a special and thoughtful decision, she became cold and visibly annoyed. What made the experience even worse was the condition of the salon itself. For a place that presents itself as high-end, the environment was incredibly disappointing, the space smelled musty, and the bathroom was unclean and poorly maintained. While the store carries beautiful gowns from reputable designers, the experience of purchasing one should match the quality of the product. Unfortunately, the way this salon treats its customers reflects poorly on those designers. I would strongly discourage anyone from booking an appointment here. Wedding dress shopping should feel exciting and special, this was anything but.

As a customer, I should not have to chase down basic information about an order that has been sitting with a business for a month. At this point, I have asked that my materials simply be returned in the same condition in which they were dropped off. I chose this as one of my shops because they carry Tina Valerdi, and Debbie pulled every Tina Valerdi gown they had for me :) The selection is beautiful, and she was kind, patient, and friendly. She even stayed past my appointment time to help me. I posted pictures of my 2 favorite dresses at her salon. One of them is a sample dress for only $100!!!!! At the time of my visit, it was my top pick, and she graciously offered to hold it for 24 hours for me. Although I ultimately chose a dress from another boutique, I am so glad I came to The Dress Matters. Thank you!!!
