My Xbox's HDMI port had been torn off and damaged and he was able to get it fixed and replaced in less than an hour for a fair price and included an 8K HDMI cable since my own was already damaged. The box works as good as new again - I will definitely be coming back if I have another damaged console or accessories in the future. read more

I want to write this review to say this is the way service should be. The owner Mr. Charles is a professional, knowledgeable and a man of his word. When my son's PS5 stopped working I searched around as Sony support/help is useless and I found Gadget Guy Texas. After reading how repairs are handled I felt comfortable to take it in. There was a manufacturers defect and the device could not be fixed but Mr. Charles did not charge me for the 3+ days he worked on it. He is very friendly and nice and a reminder use the receipt he sends you via text to discuss/contact him. If I have an issue with my son's Game Consoles in the future I will definitely take it to Mr. Charles/Gadget Guy Texas. read more

Went to Gadget guy based on a referral when we went to Ubreakifix when they said they couldn't repair our Nintendo switch. The owner was extremely nice and tested out multiple different tests over a week to see if he could fix it but unfortunately he couldn't fix the unit. The best part was that he mentioned that his policy is if he can't fix it he doesn't charge which I found as a nice surprise seeing that he performed multiple different tests from the LCD to the battery. The location is a little hard to find as there isn't large signs and there are two smaller business buildings but as soon as you get to the door you'll see a small sign for Gadget Guy. I would definitely go back if I had a problem with one of our gaming systems in the future. read more

My Nintendo Wii was no longer reading any discs. I looked into several different repair shops, but ultimately decided on Gadget Guy. And I'm so glad I did! The price to replace the disc drive was extremely reasonable and he was a pleasure to work with. The work was done by the following business day and my Wii works like new again. I recently took my Xbox controller to get one of my joysticks to be repaired, after picking it up, the left stick started to act slightly strange, I took it back and the guy put in another one, after taking it back, it acting strange the second time, I called him about the situation and he explained how it could be my right stick doing the mess up. please note my right stick didn't act up even before I took it in..i took it to another shop over in Desoto texas, and after explaining my situation, the other guy made a claim how the right stick had nothing to do with the left stick acting up. basically this guy texas place just picked me off my money and won't give me a refund. if you want to take your things at this place, just be very cautious read more

charles is the REAL DEAL. dropped off a PS3 *and* an XBox 360 on tuesday morning and they were ready on thursday afternoon. im so glad to have found someone to fix these consoles so we dont have to replace them! he guarantees all his work for 6 months and explains everything and how you can prevent the problem in the future. highly recommend him! read more

You know how you always want to have "a guy" who fixes random things? Charles is "our guy" for small electronics repair. He fixed the charging port on my Kindle Fire, then a few months later he fixed our persnickety XBox 360. He's friendly, super fast, explains things well, and is very reasonably priced. I love that we don't have to wastefully throw away electronics, he'll continue being the first person I contact for repairs. Highly recommended!! read more

I was having issues with my PS3 freezing while trying to watch a movie or play a game. After days of trying every online fix such as restoring the database etc. I Finally got fed up with it and called The Gadget Guy on a Saturday afternoon and within 2 hours my PS3 was repaired. Had to replace the Blu-ray drive now it plays games and and Blu-ray's like new and comes with a 6 month warranty. I would highly recommend this guy. Very reasonable prices. First, I made the mistake of taking my son's word and that of his buddy who works for Fryes Electronics. They were both convinced that the HDMI port on my son's PS3 was out and needed replacement. They wanted to tear the PS3 open and do their own repair, but I advised my son that I will take it to The Gadget Guy for analysis. When I arrived, Charles connected the PS3 and there was no issues with the HDMI display. I started to kick myself for not doing my own problem determination work. I took it back home and we isolated the problem to being a low guage extension cord the unit was plugged into. As soon as it was plugged directly into the wall outlet or a power strip, it worked. Gadget Guy could have easily taken the unit and told me he did some sort of service which wasn't required but no, he gave me advice well worth the nominal fee he asked for and hey, I'll just deduct it from my son's allowance. No problem! read more

We had lightning hit our property which took out a bunch of electronics including our Yamaha RX-V 683 receiver. Web search indicated these guys as a service center and the reviews were positive. So I loaded up and headed that way as I had another errand in the same neighborhood. Lugged the unit in, set it on the counter where the man (owner) said "What you got there?". "My dead Yamaha AV receiver.". "We don't work on audio anymore.". Hmm. Geez. Most of their reviews are for audio stuff. He said they really only work on TVs now. Posted as a PSA. Call before you haul. And they need to get their listing on Yamaha's Service Centers page removed.

If it can't be repaired, or it's simply not worth it, they will let you know. I had Josh (I think that was his name) replace the lcd array on my 72 inch Sony TV. It cost me $500. Replacement of that TV would have been over $2000. As an added bonus, he reinstalled my sound bar and subwoofer in the way that it should have been installed from the beginning and the sound is 100 times better. I cannot recommend this business in any stronger terms. Check with them before you throw away a TV that can be saved.

Susanna assured me that I was bringing my equipment to the right place...which went a long way especially after my Fort Worth experience. Add to it the fact that the equipment has deep sentimental value to me. Harley...the other half of the "dynamic duo" kept me informed of what was wrong, and what my low, mid, and high level fixes would be. Harley fixed the issues along with advising me of some mild modifications that he could provide to make it better than what it was out of the factory. On top of it, the work was very reasonably priced along with a pretty good turnaround time in this Covid era. Techs who have the knowledge, time, patience and skill set to keep quality equipment functional is a scarce commodity and becoming harder and harder to find. Add to that the owners of the business conducting their craft with honor and high character as to not take you out to the financial wood shed for their services. He said he couldn't help us under warranty & suggested that my daughter "go be more careful with her phone". Place stinks. Would never use them again. Headed to buy a new phone now. The Gadget Guy is by far the best electronics guy in the DFW. This is my second time using his services and once again he exceeds expectations. The first time I went in I took a PS4 that was having issues with the HDMI port and he was able to replace the ports in a day and even upgraded them to the newer version so that the damage could not happen again!!! This time I took in a desktop that had completely died. I had taken it to the geek squad to get the issue diagnosed they wanted over a $1000 to fix the computer. The gadget guy was able to diagnose, order and repair the computer to like new in just a few days for $100!!! Like I said this guy is the best. This guy Charles knows his stuff. I dropped off my PS3 because it barely read discs and then stopped entirely, and he was confident and professional and super cool. I got a text a few hours later "Your PS3 is ready, when do you want to come get it?" And here I am at home playing some Dragon's Dogma, no fuss, no fiddling, it just works now. And it wasn't a gouge, try getting a deal like Gadget Guy's from Sony. Go to this guy. Seriously, if your gadgets aren't working, go to him. He's a local business guy, running his own show, and he has the skills. read more

I've used him on 3 different occasions to fix 2 separate Playstation 3s, an iPhone screen and a Samsung tablet screen, and every time it was quick, reasonably priced and fixed correctly. The only issue I had was about 3 weeks after the iPhone repair the new screen he put in started making phantom lines, but he made it right and replaced it again with a second new screen. highly recommend for all "gadget" repairs! read more

I took my older Kindle Fire to Charles to get the charging port fixed...it had the same known issue of a loose connection to the motherboard....Charles had it ready really fast and I am very happy with the results. I know that separating a Fire isn't easy but he was able to do it and there is no evidence that it was opened. I would recommend Gadget Guy Texas especially if you are a DFW resident. read more

I brought my ps3 to gadget guy because it wasn't reading any disc. He fixed my ps3 in a day and gives you a good warranty. It has been a year since I let him fix my ps3 and it still running great. Could have easily had me come in and he could have done it and charged me 20$ or somethin but just played me straight.
