Whenever I have to call to schedule transportation I want to put a bullet through my skull! Yesterday I was on hold for AN HOUR AND A HALF until I finally hung up. This morning I called at 6am and was on hold for 40min until finally hanging up. As I type this I've been on hold for 30min. It's RIDICULOUS! I'm only in my 50s but I feel for those that are older and with worse medical conditions. Nobody and I mean NOBODY should have to endure the wait times that Blue Shield makes patients endure simply to schedule transportation!! Either hire more representatives or allow people to call an automated system to request transportation...or allow us to do it online!! I'd give Blue Shield five stars for medical services but for Transportation I GIVE THEM ONE STAR!! *Follow up: I received a call from AMANDA at Blue Shield the same day offering her assistance. I informed her that shortly after writing my review I decided to call Transportation using the phone number on the back of the Member Card. By calling that number I was able to arrange for transportation immediately with ZERO problem in under 5 minutes. I also gave her the name and number of the company that I was under the impression were the central dispatch for Blue Shield, CallTheCar. It is through CallTheCar that I was experiencing the lengthy wait time to connect with a Blue Shield representative. So anyone with Blue Shield who needs to arrange transportation PLEASE call the Transportation number on your Blue Shield member card!
